The wintersweet flowers bloom, making it a less crowded spot for sightseeing in the capital

The first touch of color after the Start of Spring, the wintersweet blossoms quietly in the snow, exuding a refreshing fragrance that adds a bit of beauty to the most unadorned season. The flowering period of wintersweet usually lasts from mid-February to mid-March. The Wofo Temple is a famous site for viewing wintersweet in Beijing, and it used to attract a lot of visitors in previous years. Therefore, this year I decided to skip the mainstream and chose two less popular places with fewer people. 🔸Yuetan Park 🕑Opening hours: 6:00-21:00 🎫Ticket price: Free admission 🚗Transportation: Closest to the Nanshiliju Station on Subway Line 1, no parking lot at the entrance. 📍Wintersweet location: Behind Jingyue Pavilion on the west side of the park 🌟Features: 1. There is only one variety of wintersweet, and not many in number, but it has a unique charm when set against the ancient red walls and green tiles. 2. One of the five famous altars in Beijing, although small in size, it is also a garden with pavilions, towers, and bamboo groves, retaining the elegance of ancient gardens. 🔸Yuyuantan Park (Images 9-11) 🕑Opening hours: 6:00-21:30 🎫Ticket price: 2 yuan 🚗Transportation: Get off at the Muxidi Station on Subway Line 1 and walk 1 kilometer. Parking is tight at the entrance, but available at the CCTV Tower parking lot across the street. 📍Wintersweet location: Enter from the south gate, turn right and walk straight to the end, then turn left, on the side of the river. 🌟Features: This place has a greater variety of wintersweet, including Tiger's Paw, Plain Heart, Dog's Tooth, and Bell Mouth, but there are barriers in front of the wintersweet making it impossible to take close-up photos. It is best to bring a telephoto lens, more suitable for pure appreciation and learning.
