We were there on August 10th, and according to the locals, it was the first more or less warm day for swimming! The water is cool, so don't be afraid to enter. The best swimming season is August. 3. Try the local cuisine. There are dozens of cafes along the embankments. Traditional dishes include whitefish and crayfish kebab. Honestly? It was tasty, but not amazing. The whitefish, for example, was very bony. We didn't get to try the legendary Sevan trout (ishkhan)—it wasn't on the menu. Prices: each fish/crayfish dish cost about 1,000 rubles. It's worth a one-time meal, but it's definitely not worth traveling to Armenia for. 4. Find your shore. The coastline is very long. There are lively areas with hotels, guesthouses, and bustling cafes. In any other country, I had to buy drinking water, but here it's free—you can drink tap water at home and especially from special fountains on the streets. ✔️ I also loved the taste of the vegetables—cucumbers, tomatoes, peppers—they taste natural, just like I remember from childhood when vegetables were grown without nitrates. 📸🎥WHAT TO SEE Day 1 should definitely be dedicated to the capital, Yerevan: 📍Cascade—a system of stairs, terraces, and platforms, with a free mini modern art museum inside the complex. 📍Tsitsernakaberd—Armenian Genocide Memorial and Museum—free entry. 📍Blue Mosque. 📍Vernissage—a flea market. Freshly squeezed pomegranate juice is always available on the streets of Yerevan. ‼️IMPORTANT ✔️ Armenia has many ancient churches, and I was surprised that you can enter them without covering your head or legs—tourists are allowed to enter like this. These are probably the only churches where I entered wearing shorts (as seen in the photos). When I asked a priest about it, he said: "You have come to God's temple; how could I not let you in?" I also saw the priest having conversations with children and teenagers—not boring lectures, but engaging games through which he introduced them to the monastery and the customs of the faithful. ✔️ I admired how locals honor their faith—visiting churches and monasteries. I observed baptisms and weddings in the churches (a couple came from the USA specifically to get married in their homeland). Many Armenians say that even if they don't live in Armenia, they make it a point to visit the monasteries at least once a year.

On the way from Yerevan we visited Hayravank Monastery where we enjoyed not only the beautiful of the old monastery but also the view over the lake Sevan from the view point behind the Hayravank.
