What you can expect if you decide to go there: · Amazing atmosphere!!! · Cool lighting at night. · Nice and enjoyable walks. · Excellent city views. · Beautiful architecture. · Nice rivers trips. · Good food. · A lot of tourists from different countries. It is a bit crowded at evening near Tower but still cool. You all the time can find silent place a bit far behind the tower, opposite to river. Don’t forget to go upstairs at day time to see wonderful city view. Best to do it at sunny day. Or book a sunset time slot on the Eiffel Tower Official Ticketing Website 60 days in advance. You'll catch sweeping daytime views, see the city light up at night, and avoid peak crowds. There two levels in Tower where you can go. Second level /floor (lower one), you can go there by stairs (should be in good health condition, as it’s quite heavy exercise: 674 steps) or use lift (different ticket price). If you buy a ticket to the second floor and decide you want to go higher, you can purchase an upgrade at the ticket office on the second level. To go to first/top floor you have only one option: lift. I was two times there. Last time visited just second floor as it was cloudy. When you finish with Tower there are several river trips near Tower (walking distance). Different prices. Worth to go and see city centre architecture from boat, including the Eiffel Tower, Musée d'Orsay, Louvre Museum, Notre-Dame Cathedral, Conciergerie, and the historic Pont Alexandre III. Interesting facts that I knew from guide: 1. Tower was built for the 1889 World's Fair in Paris to celebrate the French Revolution's centenary. 2. Original plan for tower meant to stand for only 20 years before being taken down. Why it’s stayed so long: one of the reason it was saved because it worked so well as a radio antenna. 3. The Eiffel Tower is repainted approximately every 7 years, using about 60 tons of paint for a single campaign. And it might change colour at that time. 4. The baseline height of the Eiffel Tower is exactly 330 meters (1,083 feet) tall, including the radio antenna at the top. But Eiffel Tower changes its height by up to 15 centimeters (6 inches) depending on the temperature/season. 5.
