A peaceful little hill in Perak with a front-row view of the Titiwangsa Range ⛰️
That’s probably the best way to describe Bangkong Hill 🌿
Located in Chemor, Perak, this hill stands at around 311 meters high and has quietly become one of the favorite spots among local hikers, especially for those chasing the famous 'cloud carpet' view during early mornings ☁️✨
One thing I really like about Bukit Bangkong is the atmosphere here. Compared to many popular hiking spots around Perak, this place feels much calmer, less commercialized, and more relaxing overall.
There are actually two different trails leading to the summit:
· A normal open trail
· A forest trail
Both routes eventually meet at the top, so you can choose depending on the kind of hiking experience you want.
The trek itself is quite enjoyable and not overly exhausting. Most sections are manageable even for beginners, although the final few meters near the summit can get surprisingly steep 😅
But once you reach the top, the view makes everything worth it.
From the summit, you can enjoy wide open views overlooking Ipoh, and on clear days, the massive Titiwangsa Range becomes the real highlight, especially the sight of Mount Korbu standing proudly in the distance.
There’s also a small gazebo at the summit, making it a nice place to sit down, rest, and enjoy the scenery for a while.
Another good thing is that Bangkong Hill is not located inside a forest reserve area, so hikers are generally free to hike here anytime without needing permits.
💡 A few tips if you plan to come:
· Start hiking early in the morning for cooler weather 🌤️
· If it rained the night before, chances of getting a beautiful sea of clouds view become much higher ☁️
· Wear proper hiking shoes because some sections can still get slippery after rain 👟
Bangkong Hill may not be the tallest hill in Perak, but the peaceful atmosphere and beautiful mountain views honestly make it one of the more underrated hiking spots around Ipoh.
