It's the kind of coastal town people drive past on the way to bigger names like Barcelona or the Costa Brava, without realizing what they're skipping. 🏛️ Attractions: The beachfront promenade stretches the length of the town, tree-shaded almost the whole way, with benches and old-town charm at the northern end near the harbor. The old quarter (Casc Antic) has narrow streets worth a slow wander if you want a break from the sand. 🍴 Food: Beachfront chiringuitos (small beach bars) serve fresh seafood and paella right on the sand - best enjoyed at lunch when the light hits the water. 📌 Tips: Visit the beach early morning (before 10am) for the emptiest stretch and softest light. May weather is mild during the day but breezy at sunset - bring a light layer. Rent a bike along the promenade - it's flat and easy, connects the whole beachfront in under 20 minutes. I highly recommend this place, guys and gals. I'm not sure why there are some negative reviews, but everyone has their own opinions. My wife, two kids, and I stayed here for six days and absolutely loved it. The pools were fantastic, and the food was nice and reasonably priced at the bar. Plus, there’s a supermarket, shop, and bakery right on the doorstep. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful—especially Kennith, who even lent us his phone charger until we sorted ours out. We didn't have to pay the £100 deposit some have mentioned, perhaps we were just lucky. However, I did pay £35 to rent a fan, which I found reasonable since the rooms don’t have AC, and you definitely need one. The apartment itself was lovely, clean, and fresh, with daily cleaning provided. We even remarked how we could comfortably live there long-term. A small tip: place a rolled-up towel by the front door to keep bugs out. It’s true about the hills—steep indeed! But it’s an easy walk down to the beaches, town centers, bars, and restaurants. To conclude, for the price and value we received, there’s nothing to fault about Neptuno Apartments. I would absolutely stay here again and am already planning another trip in August. Mediterranean Coast Tour in Spain ~ Barcelona (Region) The dirt parking lot is just before the climb up the path to the lighthouse. Check the schedule before you go because you will find that the lighthouse is closed and you will not be able to enjoy the view from the outside. The inside of the lighthouse can only be visited in the upper part, where the small museum is located, which needs to be paid in advance. One day a month is free. It explains the lighthouse and life in Calera very well. This place is beautiful and unique, it's a pity that you can't go to the lighthouse. Spanish Mediterranean Coast Tour ~ Barcelona (Region) The town center of Calera stretches for three kilometers, bordering the golden sandy beaches of the Mediterranean and the Montenegre River tributary before it enters the sea. Its excellent location makes it a first-class seaside resort and has been awarded the European Blue Flag Quality Award several times. Visitors can enjoy a variety of water sports due to the mild climate all year round and the excellent facilities of the yacht club. The old town of this town close to Barcelona is concentrated around the Church of Santa Maria, a neoclassical building with a Baroque facade. Other buildings that belong to its architectural and artistic heritage include the House of Salvador (14th century), the House of Sivera (16th century) and the Churches of San Querce and Santa Julita. The old Llobet Guri Factory and the Municipal Market are two other important monuments that are well worth visiting. Dalmau Park is a pleasant place to relax and enjoy another view of the city. Its numerous pedestrian streets are ideal for strolling in the town center, while the seaside promenade gives visitors the opportunity to admire Calera's Mediterranean face, leading visitors to the Lighthouse District. This maritime building has become a symbol of the city, standing on a promontory overlooking the entire coastline.
