If you're a fan of "Crash Landing on You," you might just think, "Wait, I've seen this view before!" 🥹✨ This time, I visited one of Switzerland's most iconic scenic spots, Lake Brienz. 🇨🇭 The sparkling emerald-green lake, surrounded by the majestic Swiss Alps. The color of the lake is absolutely stunning, and seeing it in person made me wonder, "Is this actually real...?" 🥹💙 🎬 The Swiss Scenery from "Crash Landing on You" Switzerland's breathtaking landscapes definitely steal the show in the drama, but seeing them in real life is even more spectacular than on screen! Especially on a sunny day, the contrast between the blue sky, the mountains, and the lake is just gorgeous. ☀️🏔️ 📍 Lake Brienz 🇨🇭 Canton of Bern, Switzerland 🚆 Getting There It's super easy to access from the Interlaken area, making it a highly recommended pit stop during your Swiss getaway. 🚢 Best Ways to Enjoy Taking a stroll along the lakeshore is wonderful on its own, but if you have the time, hopping on a scenic boat cruise to take in the lake and mountains is a must! ✨ 📸 Photo Tips · A spot where you can frame the lake and the Alps together · An angle that captures the emerald-blue water perfectly · A location to get both the charming townscape and the mountains These are my top recommendations! ◎ 💡 Travel Tip The views in the Swiss mountain areas can change completely depending on the weather, so if you want to catch the ultimate breathtaking scenery, definitely check the forecast before you go! ☀️ And for the rest of this Swiss adventure, we're heading even deeper into the mountains from here... 🏔️✨ Next up, I'll be sharing Grindelwald, a Swiss mountain resort with a completely different vibe from the "Crash Landing on You" spots. 🇨🇭🤍 If this makes you think, "I want to go there someday!", be sure to save this post and use it as a reference for your future Switzerland itinerary! 📌✨ End

The second day was clear, followed by three days of rain. The rain started to ease by the time we reached Fürst Mt. The scenery in Switzerland depends on the weather, so I recommend coming in summer for the best views! [🗣️Random Comment] If you have a tight schedule, I recommend entering from Zurich and The Lucerne-Lungern-Brien-Grindelwald-First Mountain-Wengen-Speisen route is a bit too far and might cause delays. First Mountain is a must-do! 🚲 Both mountain biking and go-karting are fun, and the views from both are breathtaking! We woke up early, arriving at 8:20 AM, and only had a 20-minute wait for the go-kart. There was hardly any queue for bikes. Switzerland is very safe, or rather, it's very sparsely populated. We spent a long time by Lake Brienz, with hardly any tourists. 🚢 It felt like life should be like this there! Dreaming, gazing at the lake without thinking about the future. Wow! For Chinese in Switzerland, you must try Co-op's roast chicken! It's one of the most delicious restaurants. Few shops there haha~ #小众国家旅游 #小众旅行目的地 #环游世界 #瑞士 #瑞士旅行 #瑞士旅游攻略 #欧洲旅行#国庆旅行 #无滤镜旅行攻略 #live图的意义

▶Location: Brienz, Switzerland 3855 ▶ This is the town of Brienz, located at the end of Lake Brienz in Switzerland. When I was looking around this town, I couldn't help but think that it was so pretty. The little kids living in the town were so cheerful, and the scene of them drinking water from the fountain was impressive. The pace is comfortable, the scenery is unbeatable, and it's a no-brainer for beginners! ✅

Exploring Lake Brienz in Switzerland was honestly a jaw-dropping experience 🏞️—this turquoise gem totally lives up to the Insta hype! If you love epic views, relaxed lakeside vibes, and hidden Swiss villages, you NEED to add Lake Brienz to your bucket list. Top Spots to Visit: 1. Giessbach Waterfalls (Giessbach Hotel, 3855 Brienz) A must-see! Take the funicular from the hotel straight to the waterfall base. The forest trails here are magical and the waterfall rush is absolutely refreshing. 2. Brienz Village Stroll the lakeside promenade, check out local shops, and snap pics of those Swiss chalets. Don’t miss the Brienz Rothorn Bahn steam train for mountain panoramas. 3. Iseltwald Pier Classic “crystal blue lake with castle” photo spot—go early for fewer crowds. The walk from the bus stop to the pier is peaceful and Insta-worthy. 4. Boat Cruise (Daily departures: 09:40–17:30, Brienz ferry terminal) Hop on the lake boat for the best way to see all the picturesque spots. It’s relaxing, and boats connect all the villages nicely. Insider Tips: Locals actually swim in the lake, so pack swimwear if you’re feeling bold! Bring snacks, since café options around Iseltwald can be limited. The boats are included in the Swiss Travel Pass—no extra cost. How to Get Around: Trains run from Interlaken Ost to Brienz (every 30 min). Bus #103 loops the lakeside. Walking and bikes are awesome here too. Food Recs: Try Swiss rösti at Café Walz in Brienz or grab ice cream by Giessbach Hotel terrace. Key Tips: Weather is changeable—bring layers. No visa needed for most EU citizens. Cash and card both work at most places! #LakeBrienz #SwitzerlandTravel #EpicViews #SwissLakes #tripdotcom most

During this trip to Switzerland, I experienced two famous scenic train routes: Luzern–Interlaken Express (GoldenPass Line) + Glacier Express If you already have a Swiss Travel Pass (STP), both fares are covered, so you don't need to buy separate tickets. However, the "reservation rules" for these two trains are very different. The Luzern–Interlaken Express does not require mandatory reservations, whereas the Glacier Express absolutely requires a paid reservation. ⸻ 💛 Luzern–Interlaken Express | Lakeside Views All the Way We took the route from Luzern to Interlaken Ost, a journey of about 1 hour and 50 minutes. I found this segment very comfortable. The scenery isn't the kind of breathtaking, high-altitude mountain landscape, but rather typical, therapeutic Swiss countryside. Outside the window, you'll see: ・Turquoise lakes ・Lush green hillsides and wooden chalets ・Waterfalls and rivers ・Quaint lakeside towns ・People strolling and sunbathing by the lake ・Residents enjoying their holidays on small boats The entire route passes through the Brünig Pass. Official guides say you can see five lakes along this stretch before finally entering Interlaken along Lake Brienz. Watching people walk and row by the lake really makes you think, "How is the daily life of the Swiss so leisurely?" 🎫 Should you reserve a seat on the GoldenPass? Reservations are not mandatory, but I recommend them during peak season. We happened to encounter a tour group this time, so even First Class was almost full, and the carriage was a bit lively 😂 For the 2026 peak season (May 2 – Nov 1), the reservation fee is CHF 16 per person; during the off-season, it’s CHF 12. We booked our seats directly through the official system in advance. If you care about having a window seat or don't want to search for a spot, I think it’s worth the money. ⸻ ❤️ Glacier Express | High Mountains and Canyon Landscapes The Glacier Express is completely different from the previous train. Reservations are mandatory! The STP covers the ticket price, but the reservation fee is not included. For 2026, the reservation fee for both first and second class is CHF 54 per person, and the official system currently allows bookings as early as 93 days before travel. We originally wanted to take a more complete route, but when we checked about two months in advance, many seats were already gone. We finally managed to book: Brig → Chur, a journey of about 4 hours. ⸻ 🏔️ What to see between Brig and Chur? Although this segment does not pass over the classic Landwasser Viaduct (which is on the route from Chur toward St. Moritz), it still features very important highlights of the Glacier Express. The most notable sights include: ・Andermatt ・Oberalp Pass ・Oberalpsee ・Rhine Gorge The train climbs to the highest point of the entire Glacier Express—the Oberalp Pass, at an altitude of 2,033 meters. Right next to it is the mountain lake, Oberalpsee. The train moves slowly along the high-altitude lake, offering a completely different view from the lakeside towns seen on the GoldenPass. The latter part passes through the Rhine Gorge, with white cliffs sandwiching the turquoise Rhine River. Also known as the "Grand Canyon of Switzerland," this was a highlight I really looked forward to on the Brig → Chur segment. ⸻ 📌 Key Booking Points for Both Scenic Trains Luzern–Interlaken Express ・Fare covered by STP ・Seat reservations optional ・2026 peak season reservation fee: CHF 16/person ・Recommended for peak times or window seats ・Luzern → Interlaken is approx. 1h 50m Glacier Express ・Fare covered by STP ・Mandatory reservation ・2026 1st/2nd class reservation fee: CHF 54/person ・Reservations open 93 days in advance ・Popular dates must be booked as early as possible 💭 Personal Reflections The two trips offer completely different vibes. The Luzern–Interlaken Express feels like sitting in front of a giant picture window watching lakes, green slopes, and Swiss towns glide by—very relaxing and healing. The Glacier Express has a much stronger high-mountain feel, showcasing valleys, passes, alpine lakes, and canyons. The experience of the train climbing to 2,033 meters is quite significant. Although it was a pity we didn't get to ride the Landwasser Viaduct segment this time, the Oberalp Pass, Oberalpsee, and Rhine Gorge still made the Brig → Chur segment very worthwhile. If you already have an STP, I think arranging scenic trains for long-distance travel days is a great deal—the travel time itself becomes the attraction. 🚆🏔️

Everyone says that when you visit Brienz, you have to take the ferry to see that dreamlike Tiffany blue water. But this time, we decided to switch things up— We rented an electric motorboat and explored Lake Brienz on our own! 🚤 At nearly NT$4,000 per hour, we made sure to get the most out of every minute! Our first stop was the Giessbach Waterfalls. Approaching the falls from the water gives you a completely different perspective than the large cruises. Surrounded by unreal blue water and mountain peaks, there’s a real sense of freedom when you’re the one steering and choosing the speed. Next, we headed toward Iseltwald to catch a glimpse of the iconic pier from "Crash Landing on You" right from the lake. On the way back, we realized just how different the scenery is on each side of the lake. One side features steep, dramatic cliffs, while the other is lined with charming European chalets along the shore, with ducks and swans occasionally drifting by. 🦢 There was no set route and no ferry schedule to follow—just us, slowly cruising across that Tiffany blue water in our own little boat. It wasn't cheap for an hour, but the tranquility and the unique perspective made it a truly special way to experience Lake Brienz. 🩵 📌 Our 1-Hour Route ・Depart from Brienz ・Giessbach Waterfalls ・Iseltwald ("Crash Landing on You" Pier) ・Return to Brienz along the shore 🚤 Boat Rental Pirate Bay Nautical Center Located at the pier right next to Brienz Station ⚠️ Note There are navigation limits. You must stay at least 200 meters away from the shoreline and other vessels. The staff will explain the rules before you head out, so make sure you’re clear on everything before setting off.

Lake Brienz, Switzerland, is a true wonderland hidden east of Interlaken 🏔️ The Tiffany-blue water is impossibly clear! This is the unique color of Alpine glacial lakes~ Known as "the most beautiful right eye of God," it's also a filming location for the K-drama "Crash Landing on You"! With snow-capped mountains and lake views, it's like a fairytale filter—every photo is wallpaper-worthy 📸 🚗 Transportation guide Depart from Interlaken and take a cruise for about 1 hr directly to the town of Brienz. The scenery along the way is enough to take 100 photos! Budget travelers, look here: Bus 103 gets you there in 30 mins—super convenient~ Take the train to Brienz station and walk 5 mins to the lakeside—also very easy! 🚢 Must-do activities 🔹 Lake cruise: The full trip takes about 2 hrs. Reflections of snow-capped mountains + colorful cottages along the shore—it's amazing! Buy a two-lake pass to also visit Lake Thun along the way. One ticket for two lakes—a great deal! 🔹 Red vintage train: Take the open-air carriage to the summit of Brienzer Rothorn for a bird's-eye view of the entire lake and mountains—a must! 🔹 Lakeside walk: Browse the woodcarving shops in Brienz and experience the slow pace of Swiss life~ 🔹 Visit the bridge from "Crash Landing on You": Located in Iseltwald on the south bank, recreate the famous scene from the show! 👗 Helpful tips ▫️ There's a big temperature difference between morning and evening, so bring a light jacket even in summer! ▫️ Cruise and bus schedules are fixed, so remember to check the timetable in advance and don't miss the last one~ ▫️ It's windy by the lake, so don't forget sunscreen + a windbreaker! Recommended to go on a sunny day; the water color is even more stunning in the sunlight ✨

🚂 Brienz Rothorn Bahn|A Century-Old Steam Train Highly recommend taking this adorable red steam train when visiting Switzerland! The Brienz Rothorn Bahn takes about an hour one way. The train slowly ascends the hillside, offering views of lakes, mountains, meadows, and occasionally, even some mountain goats. The entire journey is like watching a scenic film. 🎫 Things to Know Before You Ride This tour is very popular and often fully booked, so it's highly recommended to buy tickets and make reservations in advance. If you want a window seat, it's best to queue about 30 minutes early. It's generally recommended to sit on the left side going uphill and the right side going downhill. However, the scenery changes along some sections, so both sides offer views. 🏔️ Summit View Upon reaching the summit, you'll see a panoramic view of Lake Brienz and the surrounding mountains. The lakes, meadows, and mountains of Switzerland truly look like a painting. If you have the energy, you can walk further up the ridgeline; if you don't want to walk too much, you can sit on a bench and slowly enjoy the scenery. 📌 Key Points for the Trip ・Advance ticket purchase and reservation are recommended ・Appointment to queue approximately 30 minutes in advance ・Left side for going uphill, right side for going downhill ・Approximately 1 hour one way ・Panoramic views from the summit, or you can hike the ridgeline trail 💭 Trip Experience My favorite part wasn't just the summit, but the entire train ride up the mountain. The little red train slowly climbed, offering stunning lake and mountain views at a comfortable pace. If you enjoy photography, scenery, or slow travel, this trip is definitely worth adding to your Swiss itinerary. #brienzlake #SwissCentennialSteamTrain #brienzerrothornbahn

What is it actually like to gaze out at Lake Brienz without even leaving your bed? During this trip, I stayed in the "Twin Room Spycher" at BnB Brienz. It’s a traditional Swiss-style chalet room that felt much more spacious than I had anticipated. The room features a cozy sofa, a daybed, and two twin beds joined together. They even provided two fans, which made for a very comfortable night's sleep. While the bathroom is on the smaller side, the hot water was perfect—making the overall experience incredibly pleasant. However, the highlight of the room for me was the two windows, each framing a view as beautiful as a painting. One window overlooks the stunning Lake Brienz and the surrounding mountains, while the other captures charming Swiss chalets. If you're lucky, you’ll even see the red Brienz Rothorn Bahn steam train chugging slowly by 🚂. It truly felt like stepping into a fairy tale. Mornings here start with a classic, simple Swiss breakfast: fresh bread and boiled eggs served with a cup of coffee. Though not elaborate, enjoying your meal while soaking in the mountain views feels like the ultimate luxury of Swiss travel. If you’re an early riser, I highly recommend finding a spot on the courtyard bench. Watching the first rays of sunlight hit the mountain peaks, turning them into a soft "Alpenglow" gold in the serene silence, is pure magic. In that moment, you realize that simply staying in Brienz is a highlight of the journey itself. 🌿 📌 Quick Travel Notes: ・Room Type: Twin Room Spycher ・Spacious layout with a sofa and daybed ・Twin beds joined together ・Equipped with two fans ・Compact bathroom with great hot water ・Dual windows with different Swiss views ・A chance to spot the Brienz Rothorn Bahn train ・Simple breakfast (mostly bread and boiled eggs) ・Courtyard is perfect for mountain views and sunrises If you appreciate peace, traditional chalets, lake views, and slow travel, this place will truly resonate with you.

Autumn transforms Brienz into a breathtaking Swiss postcard, where the deep blue waters of Lake Brienz meet colorful forests, peaceful villages, and the dramatic peaks of the Bernese Alps. As the leaves turn shades of gold, amber, and red, the entire lakeside seems to glow beneath the crisp mountain air. Strolling along the waterfront, you can admire traditional Swiss chalets, quiet streets, wooden boats, and magnificent reflections dancing across the turquoise lake. Beyond the shoreline, the surrounding mountains rise steeply, creating an unforgettable contrast between autumn foliage and rugged Alpine scenery. The atmosphere in fall is especially peaceful. Fewer crowds, cool temperatures, soft sunlight, and mist drifting around the mountains give Brienz a wonderfully tranquil character.
