If you're staying at the Kimpton in Koh Samui, you absolutely have to know about this complimentary hidden perk! 🚲✨ The hotel actually offers free bike rentals! This was a little surprise I only discovered after checking into the Kimpton— you can borrow fat-tire bikes or scooters completely free of charge. 🛴 However, the rule is that you can't ride them outside the resort; you're only allowed to ride them on the beach. (The rental spot is at the spa center. Just let the staff know, fill out some paperwork, grab a helmet, and they'll unlock a bike for you! 🚴) Of course, we had to try out such a cool experience, so my friend and I set off!! It ended up being a hilarious disaster. 🤣🤣 The sand was way too soft, making it impossible to pedal. We could barely move even a meter! Some helpful tourists suggested we try riding on the damp sand, but we still couldn't get it going. Eventually, we just snapped some photos on the beach and walked the bikes back. 🤣 It was still a lot of fun, though!! If you ever stay at the Kimpton, I highly recommend borrowing a bike at least once. I think it's one of the best hidden perks that really adds to the experience! Independent travel

I had seen plenty of temples by the time I reached Koh Samui, so I wasn't necessarily expecting Wat Plai Laem to feel particularly different. Then you walk in and there is an enormous 18-armed Guanyin rising above the water, followed by an equally difficult-to-ignore laughing Buddha nearby. It's colourful, slightly extravagant and there seems to be something interesting whichever direction you turn. I found myself spending much more time walking around the complex than I originally expected, especially because the temples, statues and reflections on the water kept changing the view. What I also liked was that despite being such a visually striking place, it still felt very much like an active religious site rather than something created purely for tourists. Between taking photographs, I could slow down and look at the smaller architectural details that are easily overshadowed by those enormous statues. If you're travelling around Koh Samui, I'd definitely make some room for Wat Plai Laem. You don't need an entire day for it, but it's certainly not somewhere I'd rush through in fifteen minutes either. #momentstomovie #travel #kohsamui

A great place to visit whilst in Koh Samui, it has fantastic views and offers Sauna, Swimming pool, Hot Tub, Ice Bath and amazing food and drink - day pass is 250 bhat and you get a free jug of water with mint, lemon and Orange !! A great day out

The Jungle Club is easily one of the most beautiful viewpoints I visited in Koh Samui. I unfortunately missed the sunset on the day I went, but even with a bright blue sky, the panoramic views over the island and sea were absolutely incredible. 🌊 The colorful, laid-back jungle atmosphere makes the whole place feel special, and the open-air setting is perfect for sitting back and taking in the view. The staff were warm and welcoming, the service was great, and there’s a really good variety of food and drinks to choose from. I went for mango sticky rice and a blueberry smoothie — both were such a nice little treat. 🥭🫐 Definitely a place I’d recommend adding to your Koh Samui itinerary, especially if you want great food, beautiful scenery and one of those views you’ll remember long after you leave.

Koh Samui’s must see #fireshow ! We went to coco tams beach bar to see samui’s #1 fire show, and our feelings were mixed. We enjoyed the show, and the beach view while waiting is beautiful, but we wouldn’t recommend adding it as a must see. We’ve seen fire shows, and this one had some showstoppers - mainly the sparkler and fire cracker effects - but it didn’t blow our minds. If it works in your schedule, order some pizza (highly recommend the prosciutto and burrata), enjoy the sunset and show, but don’t pay for the expensive reservation fee or plan your itinerary around it. Also, we won’t be back for the drinks as they were not memorable. #kohsamui #bophut
