1️⃣ Jigoku Meguri (Hell Tour) – 7 Spectacular Hells
"Thought hot springs were just for bathing? These are true 'Hells'."
These are viewing-only hot springs (Jigoku) that are far too hot for bathing.
· Umi Jigoku (Sea Hell): Its striking cobalt blue color is a masterpiece. The largest and most iconic of the Beppu hells.
· Chinoike Jigoku (Blood Pond Hell): Japan's oldest natural hell. Vivid red due to iron oxide.
· Tatsumaki Jigoku (Tornado Hell): A geyser that erupts up to 30 meters high every 30-40 minutes.
· Oniyama Jigoku (Monster Mountain Hell): The Crocodile Hell. Uses geothermal heat to breed around 80 crocodiles.

· Best Season: Winter (Nov–Feb). The contrast between the cold air and the piping hot spring water is maximized.

· Transportation: The 'Kannawa' district is easily walkable for the Hell Tour. Prepare cash or an IC transit card when riding the bus.
