Like a "Mushroom Village" in fairy tales! In Alberobello at Southern Italy, the Trulli have lovely conical roofs, the shape like mushrooms!
The dreamy town of the fairy tale world in Italy
One of the most beautiful towns in the world, Alberobello is also known as 'Heaven Town'
📍Attraction Coordinates
Alberobello is a small town in the province of Bari, Apulia, Italy, with a population of about ten thousand people, and its Trulli architecture is world-famous.
Travel Tips
Walking into the town, you'll find blue skies, white walls, grey tiles, and round-domed houses, scenes that only appear in fairy tales but actually exist in reality;
In Alberobello, there are thousands of Trulli houses preserved, round-shaped dwellings without columns or beams, with white-painted exterior walls and roofs made of slab-shaped rocks, giving a very textured feel.
Strolling on the 'Heavenly Path', with the blue sky and white clouds of the Mediterranean above, and the quaint stone-paved paths underfoot, surrounded by blooming flowers, it's like walking in a magical village.
Must-Visit Treasure Spots
The Basilica Minore dei Santi Medici - Located slightly north of the town center, it was founded in 1609 and later expanded in the Renaissance style. Although called a 'small church', it is actually quite large.
The Church of Sant'Antonio - Located in the southwest of the Monti district, built in 1926-1927, this Trulli-style building has a dome 21 meters high, topped with a Greek cross.
The Monti District (Rione Monti) - Located on the south side of Alberobello, to the southwest of the parking lot and the main road Via Indipendenza.
The Sovereign Trullo (Trullo Sovrano) - Located next to a three-way intersection north of the Basilica Minore dei Santi Medici, built in the 18th century, it is one of the few two-story Trulli buildings, constructed by a wealthy priest's family.
Piazza del Popolo - Piazza del Popolo is the central square of Alberobello, where many small roads converge, offering access in all directions, and a place to sit and experience the local culture.
Lost in the human world, the fairy-tale mushroom village of Alberobello awaits your discovery
✨Hey, buddies! This time, I'm taking you on a magical journey to the dreamy land of southern Italy—Alberobello! This little village, hidden in the Puglia region, is like a secret base that fairies have left behind in the human world! 💫
🏞️First, let's talk about the impressions! The architectural style here is so unique it's mind-blowing! Although Alberobello is smaller than Matera, it has a stronger commercial vibe. But the mushroom houses here are just too too too cute! 😍
⏰Time management: Half a day is definitely enough to explore this little village! It took us just 2 hours to wander around, so don't worry about not having enough time! If you want to experience the charm of the stone houses, you can choose to stay overnight, but it might be a bit pricey. We ended up going back to Bari for accommodation.
🛏️Accommodation tips: Opposite the Bari Central Train Station, there's a place called Rossani Suites&Aparts, which is super well-located and the rooms are very clean. But remember to check the prices in advance, as they were very cheap when we went last year, but may have risen now.
🚄Transportation tips: There are trains and buses from Bari. Since there's no direct train, we chose the bus. The bus is operated by Trenitalia, and the journey takes just one hour for only 5 euros! The bus station is right at the entrance of the train station, which is very convenient. However, the bus is often crowded, so remember to get there early! There's no direct public transportation from Matera, so plan your travel in the south in advance.
📸Photo spot recommendations:
1️⃣Belvedere Terrazza Santa Lucia viewpoint, the scenery here is so beautiful it'll make you cry! It's the best spot to capture a panoramic view of the village!
2️⃣Trulli - Rione Aia Piccola (UNESCO) a UNESCO cultural heritage site, a must-visit place! The mushroom houses here are dense and cute, and it's super photogenic!
3️⃣There's also the Trullo Siamese shop and another viewpoint at Villa Comunale Belvedere Parco, both worth a visit!
🎉Buddies, come to Alberobello and feel the fairy-tale mushroom village that the elves have left behind in the human world! Not only does it have a unique architectural style, but there's also a rich cultural atmosphere waiting for you to explore! Remember to dress up, bring your camera, and come check in together! 💖✨

Bari is such a pretty city, especially the old town. It faces the Adriatic sea and it is close to the main touristic places of Puglia, a southern Italy region. We made a stop here to witness the history of this area, which is still alive in the streets and in the beautiful buildings ⛪️
We had to try the local special dish, orecchiette, a home-made pasta in a shape of a hat! And of course the delicious seafood 🐟🦑

Beautiful rocky beach in Italy
An intriguing beach with clean blue sea water~ This place is an absolute beauty located at the heart of Polignano A Mare. It is also famous for Red Bull challenges of outdoor diving which the platform is built next to the cliff, where the view was stunning from up there. The beach is especially more beautiful in summer with the sun shining over the beach reflecting the blue colour of the sea water~

Territory Museum "House Pezzolla" Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
Alberobello is a town in Italy’s Apulia region. It’s known for its trulli, whitewashed stone huts with conical roofs. The hilltop Rione Monti district has hundreds of them. The 18th-century Trullo Sovrano is a 2-level trulli. Furniture and tools at the Museo del Territorio Casa Pezzolla re-create life in the trulli as it was centuries ago. Southwest of town is the Casa Rossa, a WWII internment camp
A manifestation of the Trulli architectural style
The mushroom houses in Italy are a manifestation of the Trulli architectural style. These houses are usually made of stone and wood, with simple patterns often found on the roofs, including primitive symbols, religious symbols, and magical symbols, etc. The interior design of the mushroom houses is also unique, with some houses even having beautiful murals and carvings inside.
If you want to visit these unique mushroom houses, you can go to the city of Bari in southern Italy. In Bari, you can find a place called 'Little Town of Heaven', Alberobello, where there are many buildings in the Trulli style. In addition, you can also visit the Church of St. Anthony, not far from Bari, which also has a unique Trulli architectural style.
When touring the mushroom houses, you can choose to drive or take public transportation. If you choose to drive, you can enter southern Italy through the Port of Bari and then follow the signs to Alberobello. If you choose to take public transportation, you can take a bus or train to Alberobello from within Bari.
During the tour, you can choose to visit the inside of the mushroom houses, admire their beautiful design and decoration. At the same time, you can also taste Italian cuisine in local restaurants and experience the local culture and customs.
In general, the mushroom houses in Italy are a very unique and interesting place, where you can feel the charm and uniqueness of the Trulli architectural style. During the tour, be sure to protect the environment, respect local customs and cultural traditions. Have a nice trip!
