The elevator allow you to enjoy the surrounding scenery as you ascending or descending because of the glass wall of the elevator. This is friendly to those with mobility challenges to enjoy panoramic views without steep stairs. You also can enjoy the sunset view at the bottom of the elevator, there are benches for you to sit. Ponto Final is really a different experience altogether! The place is definitely not easily accessible but you can make it on foot! It is right down by the sea near Lisbon. Take a Bolt to get you there and there is a lift that will get you down to the restaurant. We are here because it was featured in Somebody Feed Phil, and we were so excited because this place do not have ANY BARRIER! SO if you accidentally slipped! You will fall right into the sea! The seafood is fresh and succulent, try the Baccaulau if you have not, it is cured cod fish with potatoes and chick peas. Different places have different version of it. #celebratewithtrip The 1950s Sanctuary of Christ the King is a Catholic monument and shrine dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus Christ overlooking the city of Lisbon, situated in Almada. The statue was inspired by the Christ of Redeemer statue of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The monument was erected on an isolated clifftop 133 meters above sea level. It consists of a trapezoidal pedestal of 82 meters height, formed by four arches and a platform, supporting the 28 meters image of Christ. The journey by public transport is not difficult, a scenic ferry ride from Cais do Sodre to Cacilhas ferry terminal, and then take the bus 3001 to the monument, the bus station is just beside the ferry terminal. For visitors, the main draw is the magnificent panoramic view over Lisbon and the Ponte 25 de Abril. €6 is the entrance fee to the viewing platform on the top by lift.

I once saw this saying: "If God can save Portugal from war, build a statue on the other side of Lisbon that shows the Sacred Heart of Jesus." I don't know if this statue of the Sacred Heart is copied from Lisbon. Its still Rios plagiarism of the sovereign state. In short, its still worth a visit. The Great Jesus is actually located in the Almaida area on the other side of the Belm area, and its tall figure has long been one of the landmarks of the city of Lisbon. The statue of Jesus is 110 meters high. The statue is a viewing platform that can be reached by elevator (5). There is a small prayer room on the ground floor of the base, and a direct elevator to the top view platform. Here you can see the Tejo River and the opposite Lisbon cityscape, as well as the famous April 25th Bridge. The bridge is very similar in shape to the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, USA, and is said to have been built by the same company. When the bridge was built, it was the fifth largest suspension bridge in the world at that time.

The Big Jesus in Lisbon is 110 meters high and is situated on the green hill at the end of the bridge on April 25. This statue of Jesus is exactly the same as the statue of Jesus in Rio, Brazil. It is whether Lisbon copied plagiarism or whether Rio copied the sovereign state, it would be confusing, but it is indeed worth a visit. The picture in the church below Jesus tells the history of its architecture, and the stories of the devout women who thank God for blessing them who survived World War II. Take the elevator to the observation deck, where you can enjoy the beautiful view of the opposite city of Lisbon and the magnificent river view of the Tejo River. In addition, the church provides a variety of services for the congregation, including confession and baptism. The most important thing to mention is the wedding. Intentional visitors can arrange a special wedding on the trip to give the bride a surprise.

We accidentally stumbled upon a genuine 19th-century wooden warship in Lisbon! It turned out to be a museum, and the ticket price is only 5 euros. Of course, we had to visit! The frigate Dom Fernando II e Glória is a Portuguese 50-gun sailing frigate, moored in a dry dock in Cacilhas (right next to the ferry terminal). This is the last Portuguese sailing warship ever built, launched in 1843 and commissioned in 1845. During its active service, it covered over 100,000 nautical miles—that’s equivalent to five circumnavigations! In the International Register of Historic Ships, the frigate D. Fernando is listed as the fourth oldest military frigate in the world and the eighth oldest military sailing ship. Interestingly, it still has a captain: there’s a plaque in the captain’s cabin listing all the captains and their years of service—and there’s even a current one! You can walk around the ship and touch everything! Areas that are off-limits are fenced off. The ship, if I’m not mistaken, has four decks—all open to tourists! The frigate is relatively unknown: there were only four of us on board, so we could explore freely. The frigate was restored not too long ago—in 1998—and it features figures of supposed Portuguese sailors, which really enhances the experience! In some places, it feels like the ship has a life of its own, and you’re just peeking in. You can explore everything—the officers’ mess, the captain’s cabin, the galley (or whatever the place where sailors ate is called), the doctor’s quarters, and even the storage areas below deck. We spent about two hours there—and probably would have stayed longer, but the museum was closing. I love maritime-themed museums, and my husband even more so! In our opinion, this is one of the best ship museums we’ve ever visited!

Climbing to the observation deck of the statue offers a breathtaking 360-degree panoramic view: the April 25th Bridge spans the river like the "sister bridge" of San Francisco's Golden Gate Bridge; the entire city of Lisbon unfolds below, with red-roofed buildings and the Tagus River merging into a beautiful scene; at dusk, the magnificent sunset bathes the city in golden light, enchanting all who see it. Reaching the top requires taking an elevator and then climbing 59 steps, but the view is absolutely worth it. Additionally, the chapel inside the base is worth exploring, showcasing architectural history and touching stories, where many local women gave thanks for their loved ones' safe return from World War II. Come here and overlook the stunning scenery of Lisbon!

Standing 28 meters tall on a pedestal, its arms outstretched, it gazes over Lisbon. Inspired by the Christ the Redeemer statue in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, it's a truly breathtaking sight. From the observation deck, the view is breathtaking: the entire red 25th of April Bridge winds along the Tagus River, and the red-tiled, whitewashed walls of the old town are all in sight. A gentle breeze creates a tranquil and majestic atmosphere, inviting you to stop and take in the moment. Visiting in the evening is even more romantic, with the sunset painting the river and bridge golden. Our trip to Lisbon was absolutely amazing. The city is full of life, with its charming streets, colorful houses, and breathtaking viewpoints. The food was delicious, especially the fresh seafood and famous pastéis de nata, and everywhere we went people were kind and welcoming. We really enjoyed exploring the historic neighborhoods, riding the iconic trams, and walking along the beautiful waterfront. The atmosphere was vibrant yet relaxed, and the whole trip felt unforgettable. Lisbon truly exceeded all expectations and left us with wonderful memories.
