A 10-minute walk from Pescara Airport, Al Volo offers modern and colourful air-conditioned rooms with free Wi-Fi. Overlooking the Gran Sasso and Monte Majella mountains, it is 6.5 km from the centre of Pescara. Uniquely furnished rooms at Al Volo feature a flat-screen TV with satellite channels, and some include a kitchenette. The private bathroom comes equipped with a hairdryer and free toiletries. An Italian-style breakfast of croissants and hot drinks is served in the bar on the ground floor. Guests can also book packed lunches and car rental on site. Guided tours of Abruzzo can also be arranged. The property is a 10-minute drive from the beach and a 5-minute drive from the A14 and A25 motorways. Free parking and free bikes are available, and staff can organise a shuttle service to/from the airport and train station.
Good location and stylish decor. Function is another story though. There are two elevators which are both tiny and carry only two people with luggage. We stayed three nights while traveling with a group, in two different rooms (the first night in a double room, even though we had booked a twin; the hotel claimed they had no other rooms available). The double room was extremely small, while the twin room was slightly more spacious. Even though by definition both rooms slept two people, they both had space for only one suitcase and had only one chair. The first room had no desk at all, with one of the nightstands doubling as desk. Beds and pillows were comfortable. The AC took quite some time to cool the room and was very difficult to adjust. Lack of attention to maintenance was obvious: burned light bulb, loose (or detaching) handles and knobs. Bathroom with no convenient shelf space (unless you want to count the shelf under the sink), no hooks and ho place to hang/place clothes or toiletries. The first room had very slow draining sink and shower. The water was extremely soft and very difficult to rinse. Wifi worked well. Breakfast had a decent selection. The problem was the constant lack of bowls, glasses and utensils. The staff would bring them out 4-5 at a time upon request, and of course they were gone within a couple of minutes.
Just off the A14 motorway, Dragonara is 4 km from San Giovanni Teatino centre. It offers a large garden with a year-round swimming pool. Rooms have light colour schemes and wood floors. All air-conditioned, they also come with free Wi-Fi, a minibar and pay-per-view TV channels. Each bathroom features a bathrobe, hairdryer and toiletries. Breakfast is buffet style at Hotel Ristorante Dragonara. The restaurant serves Italian cuisine and Abruzzo specialities. Free parking is provided at Hotel Dragonara, which is 10 minutes' drive from Chieti. The port of Pescara on the Adriatic coast is also just 10 minutes' drive away.
We stayed in a superior from 24 to 30 August. Positive notes:Near the sea and large room. Here ends the beautiful. The spacious room but the bathroom really vintage to be generous in defining it. It is a lot of suffering for years, there is calcare, date healthcare and a general sense of old. The private beach for which you pay summer card has beds and beds, even the clean morning fabric but not a shower near the beach. Only the washing floor. Neither the cabin x change the costume and zero toilet. We have always gone to the nearby bar. At this point you make a convention with a bathroom next door! Not badly not the food. Low quality, not 4 stars. Greens Buffet always equals every evening, for no appetite, like meal. No curative and sometimes with a clear recycling so obvious to make sadness. I am not for waste of food but at least engineer better x reuse the surplus! I am a little slow, unorganised and unclear for some staff members. I asked for a few changes to the menu that, for the rest, only proposed 2 first and 2 seconds, I always saw 3 things in the other hotels, they didn't know what to give me as a change. In a 4-star, I think it's a joke. The sweet buffet is fruit offered 1 only fruit, of anguria or ananas site and a sweet one. But how do you talk about buffet? The most comfortable breakfast, various cakes, fruit and drinks served at the table even if the server was sometimes a long wait, and I really regret that a structure of this kind, which is packed with four stars, showed a bad three-star. And if there were the bathroom gadgets and a tribute at the arrival, this really can't offset the other misses.
I came to Pescara on a three day break from a business trip in the U.K., and this was the perfect hotel for it. If you are looking for a luxury, 5-star resort, then look elsewhere. But if you want great value for your money, a great location, great services and ammenities, and absolutely excellent customer service, then this is the place for you. The rooms are older, but spacious, with very comfortable beds and pillows. The hotel lobby had a great selection of goods for purchase (e.g. food, snacks, water, beer, wine, soft drinks,,toiletries, electronic accessories, etc. Even pouches of pre-mixed cocktails and an ice machine.). The breakfast options we somewhat limited, but more than adequate, and worth the nominal additional cost. The real standout was the service. All hotel staff were incredibly helpful, kind and professional. I have to give a special acknowledgement to Melissa, who I interacted with the most at reception. She is a true professional. Super helpful and friendly, with great advice about the sights around the city. Natasha was also a great member of the hotel staff. I would definitely book this hotel again, without question.
It is unthinkable that a 4-star hotel has no walking ramp (I went with my family and we have a 2-month child) or disabled car. I was offered to go into the meeting room ( we were going through the bad bathroom ) but his lift did not contain my walking room . It is incredible that there is a lift in such a structure that is not large enough to enter a ship or a slightly larger walk than the average like an aptical English xt . We are talking about a 4-star hotel with very obvious shortcomings.. I wonder what it has so special for having received 4 stars. Another bad note the lack of communication of staff who didn't warn me actually advised me to park on the seaside, the result??? A nice fine of β¬42 because the area was pedestrian air in the evening ππ»ππ»ππ»ππ»ππ»ππ»ππ»ππ». For the rest, I have high scores for the sea nearby, and for cleaning the room. We have stayed in B&B and I can't give any comments on the quality and quantity of food. The 4 stars do not deserve it absolutely. There are so many , too many things to improve and the attention to the client is one of those. A structure advice, to maintain certain prices, needs to be invested, focus on the possibility of accessing everyone in a simple way, put down these architectural barriers and insert an access rampa for everyone.
We are coming to this hotel every year, and always we take master suite, with private jacuzzy and sauna. Have to say that it need already renovation, and they should more care about room details. If you stay in best suite in hotel, nothing should miss there. So we had some problem with water in jacuzzy some problem with sauna and some small problems with details. Which is pitty. Its getting old and owner should care about renovation and not only take money for room. All hotel actually is not like this good like before. Breakfast is worse now. Also spa is getting old. They say by phone that they have bagno turco ( steam room) but it never works . Funny because we are coming minimum last 4 years here and i never saw that steam room work on. Its not so difficult finally repair it. There is only two saunas and thats it. Which is a really pitty. Especially if they say there is steam. I also always go for massage here, but its just money spend cause if you choose ayurverdic or any other it will be all same. Nothing hard or strong or different. So even if iam giving chance to them always, massage its just fly 100β¬ but not deserve.
Excellent
