Zhangzhou Muyun Qingju Hotel (Wanda Plaza Branch)

The room was pretty good. The front desk, upon learning I was traveling alone with minimal luggage, assigned me a larger room, as she put it. The facilities were all well-equipped, and I didn't notice any issues with cleanliness or hygiene. My only complaint is the significant problem with the front desk staff's professionalism and management. I suspect it might be because the hotel hires a lot of young people. In the past, when I traveled with friends or adults, I usually booked the rooms and interacted with many different front desks. This was my first time traveling solo, and I booked a slightly cheaper room. What truly shocked me was that there didn't seem to be an older manager supervising these young staff members. When I was returning to the hotel alone, I overheard two female receptionists gossiping about me – or rather, presumptuously discussing that I was traveling alone – thinking I wouldn't hear them because I had headphones on. Don't your cultural values teach you that women's voices tend to be higher pitched, especially when you're talking behind someone's back? I found it extremely rude. I'd like to offer a suggestion to the hotel owner: hire an older, more mature female front desk manager to oversee things and maintain order. It's a big mistake to have a front desk exclusively staffed by young women! You're a new hotel, opened in 2025, and your reputation has been quite good. I hope this incident doesn't upset more guests and negatively impact your business!

The hotel's main advantage is its excellent location. It's situated right behind the long-distance bus station and close to Wanda Plaza, putting it right in the city center. Public transportation is very convenient, with many bus routes nearby.

The room was a bit small; there wasn't enough space to open my suitcase. The cleanliness was good, and the bedding was fine too. The biggest downside was that the window faced a staircase, and it couldn't be locked, which made me feel unsafe. I didn't dare leave any valuables too close to the window.

1. The hotel's location is excellent. It's right at the intersection of Longwen and Xiangcheng districts in Zhangzhou, with tons of local eateries downstairs for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and late-night snacks – just a few steps away. 2. The front desk service was incredibly attentive. Knowing we weren't locals, they patiently explained where to go for fun and where to find the best food; they were really good at recommending things, haha. We also checked in quite late, and they even considered it might be inconvenient for us, so they kindly upgraded our room for free and allowed a late check-out. No matter how late it was, if we called the front desk with an issue, they'd come right away to help – many other hotels can't compare to that. 3. The room hygiene was exceptional. I'm quite a germaphobe and usually inspect every corner of a hotel room, but this place left me no room for complaint. From the bedding to every nook and cranny, everything was sparkling clean and completely dust-free. I had a really pleasant stay, mainly because of the great value for money. If I get the chance, I'd definitely stay at this hotel again! Highly recommend it!

The cleanliness was subpar; there were noticeable stains on the tables and chairs. I got a corner room, and the bathroom didn't have a wet/dry separation, making the floor quite slippery. The air conditioning unit was old and noisy. I'm not sure how they define a 'deluxe king room.' The front desk staff's attitude was mediocre. I won't be returning.

The hotel's decor is beautiful, and the front desk staff are incredibly welcoming. I accidentally broke a glass, and the lady at the front desk was so kind; she brought me a new one and even cleaned up the floor without asking me to pay. I was really touched! There are also plenty of snack options nearby. The room was very quiet, and the housekeeping was excellent. Overall, a fantastic experience, and it's newly renovated too!
