We arrived quite late and departed early, but the host was incredibly thoughtful, letting us store our luggage and pick it up after our evening plans. We were extremely satisfied with our stay – the place was clean, quiet, and conveniently located. A real bonus was having a washing machine in every room. There are plenty of restaurants nearby, and a convenience store is located right downstairs. The Tianmen Mountain cable car station is only about a ten-minute walk away, just a few streets over. You'll pass several rice noodle shops on the way, perfect for a quick breakfast. Highly recommended!

GGuest UserWe had a wonderful time staying at the Ru Hotel in Wulingyuan to visit Zhangjiajie. This is really a home stay although it is called a Hotel in the name. The house is recently built and not just renovated. Everything is well thought out and there is even an elevator. The owner and hosts were extremely nice and helpful. The owner picked us up and dropped us off personally (we ended up renting another night directly with the hotel so we got a drop off, too). The breakfast was simple, but delicious and the iced coffee was very good. The room we got was really nice and comfortable and as you can see from the photos, had a beautiful view of the river and mountains in the background. The beds and bedding were really comfortable. A lot of hotels have rooms that smell like smoke even though they are supposed to be non-smoking, but these rooms had absolutely no smoke smell and smelled fresh. Our son enjoyed the Xiaodu TV, which had SVIP streaming services. We would definitely come back to stay here and highly recommend for others to stay here.

1. Hotel Experience & Unmatched Hospitality
My stay at XiFuWan Resort Hotel was truly unforgettable—one of the most heartfelt and sincere displays of hospitality I’ve encountered in all my travels. A family-owned hotel opened in 2024, it makes you feel like a guest in someone’s home rather than a commercial customer.
As a solo traveller on a spontaneous trip, I had very little planned. The hotel staff kindly helped secure attraction tickets to Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, Tianmen Mountain, and ZJJ Grand Canyon, even managing to get them at slightly lower prices than the official sites. The owner—formerly with the Zhangjiajie Tourism Bureau—also provided invaluable advice on routes and timings, tailored to my stay. This made a huge difference in navigating the expansive park efficiently.
2. Cleanliness, Comfort & Amenities
The Exceptional Business Double Room was impeccably clean—easily among the cleanest hotel rooms I’ve stayed in. Rather than a work desk, the room had a lounge table and two chairs by the window, creating a cosy spot to unwind and enjoy the scenery.
A wonderful bonus was the complimentary laundry service, which was thoughtful and convenient, especially after outdoor excursions.
3. Generosity & Personal Care
I arrived early in the morning and was offered a free early check-in. On departure day, the staff also offered late check-out due to my evening flight, which I truly appreciated.
When I felt unwell on my first day, the owner’s father—a retired doctor— kindly offered a medical consultation and continued to check in on me. Their level of attentiveness was deeply moving.
To top it off, the hotel gifted all guests a box of fresh local fruits, reflecting their warmth and generosity.
4. Location, Accessibility & Language Support
The hotel is located in a fantastic area—peaceful, yet close to numerous eateries, shops, and amenities. The convenience of having everything within walking distance enhanced the entire experience.
Despite being in a mountainous region, the hotel features a built-in lift, making it very accessible—something that’s not always common in small towns.
For English-speaking travellers, one of the owners is a former English teacher, which made basic communication smooth and reassuring.
5. Community Feel
The hotel sits beside a local primary school, which added a lovely, heartwarming touch to the environment. There’s a strong sense of community and kindness, not only within the hotel, but throughout the surrounding area. For those who value authentic, local experiences, this place feels like home.
6. Final Thoughts
Although XiFuWan Resort Hotel only began accepting foreign tourists a few months ago, it is an absolute hidden gem that deserves more recognition among international visitors. If you’re considering a stay in Zhangjiajie, I wholeheartedly recommend giving this hotel a try. The care, hospitality, and personal touch truly set it apart.
Without a doubt, I’ll be staying here again the next time I return to ZJJ.

GGuest UserWe had an amazing 5D4N stay at Foggy Valley for our ZZJ trip. They have, in our opinion, the best location to enjoy good air & and the best sceneries day and night. Highly highly recommend 👌 The place is so serene. The room is so comfortable - all room amenities available. They even have softdrinks, snacks, and tea daily in the room. Bedroom slippers are those quality ones. They offer so so much. Try the local zzj wine and beer available at their cafeteria. Good spread of breakfast, too.
With all that said, the people and staff working at Foggy Valley are the essence of this place. Every one of them were thoughtful, dedicated, and hospitable, literally everyone. They made us feel so at ease throughout the stay. As i was very confuse about the tickets to the attractions, they helped us make the purchase, settled the complicated entrance booking every single day and keep up with us daily to make sure we are enjoying ourselves and offer any help they can. We are soooo thankful they made our experience 100% hassle free, very peaceful, very happy. We will definitely stay with them again if we come to zzj and recommend to all our families & friends.

- before our arrival, we already felt the warmth and genuine hospitality.They patiently dialogued with us to plan how best to maximise our time during our 5D4N stay with them, and even considered the days after as we are moving to another homestay. They thoughtfully introduced and mapped out local attractions, helping us make the most of our trip.
- We appreciated their transparency when sharing their offerings and discounted rates, giving us space to compare without pressure. This gave us peace of mind even before checking in.
- One of the biggest highlights was how the homestay helped bridge the transportation gap. Despite the secluded location, they arranged reliable partner drivers who charged us at very competitive Didi rates, making travel easy and affordable without needing to worry about timing.
- We also loved the friendly dogs and cat around the homestay. They brought so much joy and warmth, and playing with them became part of our daily routine.
A special shoutout to Butler Jiang (将）, who truly went above and beyond.
- Upon arrival, he noticed we had caught a cold and politely ask if he could prepare herbal tea for us. This became our daily comfort drink throughout the stay. We even felt shy asking for it so often, but he and the team kindly reminded us it was part of their care.
- One unforgettable moment was during a heavy downpour. With the road under government maintenance, access to the homestay became extra challenging for that day. Butler Jiang appeared with multiple umbrellas and a buggy (not something we had seen before!). Since cars couldn’t reach the homestay directly, he walked down to escort guests personally—soaked in rain but making sure each of us stayed dry. When we got on the buggy, we realized he had even opened umbrellas to keep the seats dry. We were deeply touched by his dedication. Upon returning, we were greeted by a joyful gathering of guests enjoying a mini party at the pavilion—a sight that perfectly captured the warmth and spirit of this homestay.
Another shoutout to their partnering driver sun (孙）:
- After we moved to our second homestay, we once got stranded by the roadside because of Didi GPS error that made it difficult for a ride-hailing driver to locate the place. The only option offered by our then homestay was to dropped us at the base of a mountain, where we waited over 15 minutes with no success. Luckily, driver sun from Celestial Valley Homestay recognized us and offered us a ride, so we followed him back to Celestial Valley, and were warmly welcomed again with complimentary tea and another chance to enjoy the view and play with the pets.
- driver sun also took on our business and brought us to the city and even took us on another round trip to a faraway attraction. We were no longer guests at that point, yet the hospitality continued. We were truly thankful for the extended service and kindness.
This homestay gave us more than just a place to stay—it offered warmth, care, and unforgettable memories. It's this genuine hospitality that makes Celestial Valley such a rare gem.
Highly recommended for anyone looking for heartfelt service, breathtaking views and a true home away from home.

SShuizhongyuepingFacilities: You can summon 'Xiao Du' (a smart assistant) in the room, which is very convenient.
Hygiene: Stayed for three days, and the room was cleaned every day.
Environment: Clean and hygienic, and the hallway even seemed to have a scent sprayed.
Service: Added them on WeChat, and they were very responsive and helpful with all my requests and questions.
The hotel is located inside a shopping mall in the city center. It's easy to get a taxi downstairs, and the bus station is right there. There are many restaurants nearby. Parking should also be convenient; although I didn't drive, the front desk proactively asked about it. I especially want to mention that the shower stall in the room is very spacious, and the water pressure is great, making for a very comfortable shower. They can also help deliver takeout right to your room door. It was an excellent experience overall.

GGuest UserLoved this hotel and would highly recommend! The room was clean, well stocked with amenities (towels, bathroom accessories, bathrobes etc). Bed was comfy and room was spacious. The shower had a waterfall shower head and plenty of hot water. The breakfast was very good with many options for both chinese and western style food. The service here was amazing! Mei at the front desk helped us to plan out itinerary for Zhanjiajie forest park, with our day planned and mapped out, even including the estimated time we would spend in each area of the park and our bus routes within to maximize our experience. She booked our tickets and park reservations. This was extremely helpful as we do not speak Mandarin and found the park very confusing on our own. They also provide free transport to and from East gate and drop off pick up to the pedestrian street restaurants and local sightseeing.. The hotel is also located right next to Baofen Lake scenic park. Our experience in Zhangjiajie was amazing thanks to the fabulous service this hotel offers.

My recent three-night stay at Zhangjiajie Sunshine Hotel was absolute perfection! The second I walked in, the front desk team welcomed me warmly and finished check-in in minutes—no tedious waiting at all.
My room was impeccably clean, with a plush bed that had me sleeping soundly each night. Waking up to the faint view of Zhangjiajie’s lush mountains through the window was a lovely surprise, and the room’s quietness made it ideal for relaxing after day trips.
The breakfast buffet shone with fresh options, from crispy pastries to hearty hot dishes, and the coffee was always smooth. I’ll 100% book Zhangjiajie Sunshine Hotel again on my next trip and can’t recommend it enough—especially if you get to be assisted by Xiao Yu!

XXYHJNThe room was spotless. The location is excellent, just a short taxi ride from the scenic area entrance, and there are plenty of restaurants nearby. A charming little stream runs right by the entrance, offering beautiful scenery, and you can even go down for a paddle. The owner was incredibly kind and went out of their way to thoroughly explain tips for exploring the scenic area. There's also a third-floor terrace, perfect for drying clothes, which offers fantastic views. This is a truly honest review – we had an absolutely wonderful time!

MM2e26emge****The location is excellent, just a 10-15 minute walk from the East Gate of the National Forest Park, making it very convenient for getting around. The service was warm and professional; they even helped with luggage and opened car doors for us. The room was spacious and fully smart-controlled, providing a fantastic experience! The owners also have two adorable cats, which were a delight.

AAD3KI love Miss Inn! The hotel is cosy and comfortable and conveniently located on Wuling Road. I believe the rooms have themes. The host kindly helped carry my bag up. My room faced Wuling Road but it wasn’t that noisy. The host is very kind and patient and he helped explain and advise the route to take in Zhangjiajie National Forest Park. The East Gate to the Park is only a 12-minute walk from the hotel and the bus station is also within a 7-minute walk. There is also a resident kitty. When I booked, I didn’t know there’s a halal restaurant only two doors away (with sign in green) - what a bonus!
