Tzante Hotel Zakynthos, Adults Only

I stayed at the Tzante Hotel in August 2023 with 7 other friends, we had the best time ever! Very clean hotel, friendly and helpful staff. Directly on the ***** so makes it a great place to stay if you are visiting for the nightlife. Our air con was stuck on freezing and our friends was broken however they were both fixed the same day we raised the problem. Breakfast was really nice and the food at the pool bar was too! Lots of nice restaurants on the ***** and on the beach. Lots of excursions and things to do! The pool is a great size and very clean. Very calm and relaxing atmosphere in the day, perfect if you like to sunbathe. A special thank you to the receptionist Leddie, he made our holiday a dream, clearly works extremely hard and was always there to help and answer questions when we needed him. My boyfriend stayed here 2 weeks before with his friends and agrees with everything I have said. Would love to come back in the future :)

My best friend and myself booked a last minute girls getaway to Laganas in Zakynthos and are very happy that we stayed at Tzante Hotel. We couldn't recommend the hotel enough! It is located right on the ***** close to all bars and restaurants, the beach is a two minute walk up the road, the hotel is spotlessly clean, as was the bedroom. The decor is modern, the bed was huge and very comfortable, plenty of storage, walk in shower, tea/coffee making facilities, hair dryer, iron and iron board etc. The cleaners were in every day and always made sure we had enough towels and bed linen. Breakfast has a lot of variety, continental food and hot food. Pancakes are very nice, coffees, juices and pastries are a nice touch. The pool has everything you need, jets in the pool, sunbed with a canopy, the pool bar is fantastic, drinks and food are great. The hotel is a family run hotel and you can clearly see the personal touches that have been put in place. The staff are so friendly and welcoming, from start to finish. A special thanks to Espi in particular who went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable, Mama Petta and Ledi for all of their assistance and all the staff for a great stay. We couldn't recommend this hotel enough, a great stay from start to finish, a home away from home, book your stay now 😊

The hotel is at the heart of Zante, easy access to all good restaurant and bars near seaside. All the staff are amazing specially Helen. She seems to have the magic wand, can managed well with all the queries from the guest quickly. Helen also helped me with all the booking from Zante to Athens, phoning the respective companies. I can’t thank her enough.

We stayed here for 4 nights on 25th August. The location is good as it is right on the ***** and a couple minutes walk to the beach, even though it’s right on the ***** at night in the bedrooms you couldn’t really hear any noise only the hotel itself was very noisy. Walls paper thin with peoples alarms going off at 5am, people moving chairs on their balconies at like 3am but that’s not the hotels fault. Breakfast was average not an amazing hot food selection but I prefer continental and there was lots of choice and nice quality. Beds feel comfy at first but they did hurt my back being so hard but it’s tricky to get a super comfy bed abroad so this was definitely not the worst I have slept on. We were on the first floor but our friends stayed over the other side and their room was half the size of ours. The bathroom shower is a bit of rubbish design as it has no door on it so the water floods the bathroom every time you have a shower. Maids kept the room very clean. Pool area does not look like the pictures at all and the pool is very dirty don’t think they filter it much and I actually ended up getting a water infection which I am fairly sure was from the pool. We ordered a burger and chips twice at lunch time and it was quite nice. Reception staff were really friendly and helpful. Personally for us we don’t usually stay anywhere like this and would go for something much more up market however a lot of hotels in laganas are much less quality so I think this is one of the better ones. If you are thinking of Greece in general though I would go to tsilivi, it is a much cleaner area and even the ***** is just more upmarket.

Zante From what I can gather, there appears to be a big contract issue here between Tui and the hotel. All Tui guests are placed on the top floor of the hotel and the rooms allocated are not what is shown in the brochure. Given that my husband has had 2 full knee replacements shortly before going on holiday we had requested a lower level floor room on our booking and if it had not been for the lift he would not have been able to manage the stairs to our room. The rooms are not worth the money being charged and when you arrive you have to pay extra for air con, fridge, safety deposit box, wi fi and TV. The first thing the receptionist said to us was why have you booked with Tui and not directly with us? And if we had have done this we would not have been charged for any ‘extra’s’ which in my experience have always come as standard items. Our first issue was not having enough space to put any toiletries or small items (underwear / bikini’s etc) given that the bathroom shelf was missing and we only had 1 bedside table in a double room. After arguing with the cleaner we were eventually provided with another bedside table. The second issue was with the door, as we were on our way out on the first night (9 pm) we discovered that the door was not secure, one small push and it opened after locking it. The receptionist told us to go out and enjoy our evening and they would watch over the door via the cctv camera. I confirmed that this was not acceptable and I had to insist on being given a safety deposit box free of charge so we could at least secure our passports, money and valuables. We then waited for the maintenance man to come to fix the lock, he originally tried fixing it with the ‘old cardboard trick’ and my husband insisted he got a whole new lock fitted which he did eventually and to be fair did a good job. The next issue was with the shower head, it would not stay upright and having long hair meant it was difficult trying to hold it in one hand whilst trying to shampoo it, again this was rectified every few days by tightening the screw every time it dropped back down. We insisted on being given a second key card so that the air con unit, which we had paid for, would remain on whilst we were out so the room would be nice and cool when we got back, other guests were not so lucky and were refused a second key. The batteries for the safety deposit box run out after 1 week and again this was another trip back down to reception to request it to be fixed. The bedding was not clean and was full of make up and hair each time it was changed. Despite us arriving at the hotel at the same time as a lovely group of young girls, the Tui rep (Shamus) completely discarded us and focussed on wanting to sell them party tickets, which we felt completely discriminated against due to our age. This was mine and my friends first girls holiday in Zante - we knew a girls holiday was supposed to be cheap however we decided to pay the extra price for what we thought was going to be a ‘nicer’ hotel and this completely backfired!!! We all paid around 1k EACH for both the hotel and flights (with the hotel only being bed and breakfast) when we arrived to the hotel everything seemed fine until we saw which rooms we were given. The rooms were disgraceful compared to what we thought we were going to get. Online it mainly shows lovely, new, modern rooms, which for the price we paid is what we expected to get however when we turned up and saw our rooms we were in shock. The top floor of the hotel has all the out dated rooms and the second floor has the modern ones. We complained straight away and explained that for the money we paid, we didn’t expect to be staying in a room like that & that the advertising for the hotel is truly a scam due to the main pictures all being modern rooms. After hours of waiting around and complaining, the hotel staff AND manager said there was nothing they could do about any of it - we asked if there was some kind of initiative we could receive due to how much we paid in relation to the type of room we got but again no. This frustrated all of us hugely and ruined the start of the holiday because we knew we could of paid 1/3 of the price for the exact same quality at another hotel. Please keep this in mind when booking at TZante. As there was nothing they could do, we decided to put up with it and just enjoy our holiday. The breakfast in the mornings were another HUGE let down! There were barely any options and didn’t even have basic food such as cereal available. There was some hot food such as beans, sausages etc however they were at a poor standard - it did the job but at the price we paid for the hotel it was just one thing after another that let us down. We ended up deciding to miss breakfast the rest of the stay due to the poor standard. Another negative comment I have is an encounter we experienced with a member of staff (security??) who was behind the desk at night. As the hotel is located right on the ***** with a nightclub ATTACHED - we thought by now the hotel would be used to some noise. However, one night at around 2am me and my friends came back to the hotel - we were completely sober as none of us felt up to drinking. As we are walking towards the hotel we are laughing about the night - this was before we even reached the doors or were inside the hotel. Straight away, the member of staff approached us in a very angry manner and told us all to be quiet which we did. However, he then went on to ask us our rooms numbers in the lobby and said we are ‘lucky’ to have this warning because the next time we make any noise we are getting ‘thrown out’. As five 18 year old girls on our first holiday this was very unsettling - especially because we weren’t behaving in a manner that should of received that reaction. W

I never write reviews I downloaded Tripadvisor just for this. This hotel is absolutely mint. Me and my boyfriend came for a lads/girls holiday. Both mine and my boyfriends friends hotels were shambles but our hotel was amazin. Food is proper cooked food no complaints, bar staff are so nice. Reception staff go above and beyond for you. There are no hidden fees like other hotels in the area. Walk right onto ***** and a 2 min walk to the beach. Perfect location if your going for clubbing.
