What a lovely charming Inn! My husband and I stopped here on our way down to the Outer Banks. We wanted to visit Yorktown and we like unusual places to stay. This place has history and charm. It has a wonderful view from the front porch over the river. We stayed in the carriage house and that room is large, airy and quiet. Tom the inn keeper is lovely and welcoming. He provides an excellent breakfast and is avaiable if you need him. This is going on our list of places to stay. I am looking forward to visiting again!

I don’t usually write reviews or take surveys, but I’ll make an exception here. If I could give it 6 stars, I absolutely would. The rooms were adorable, the beds were really cozy, the location was gorgeous, the staff were friendly, even the other guests were interesting… there was nothing I didn’t absolutely love about it (except that I’d love to have stayed longer, lol). If you’re going to be staying anywhere in the area, whether a weekend getaway, visiting the Battle of Yorktown battlefield or attending a USCG TRACEN graduation, I can not recommend this hotel highly enough.

After a much anticipated stay at The Hornsby House Inn I decided to write a review of our stay. We spent two nights (July 3-5) at this extraordinary Inn. The hosts, Tom, Kat, & Lexi made our stay wonderful. We checked in to our Huge room, the Riverview Room, and it’s incredible view of the York River and the Yorktown Victory Monument. The Breakfast served each morning were fresh, hot and homemade. Yorktown is a dream location for anyone who is a fan of the American Revolution War era. We walked onto battlefields where General George Washington defeated General Lord Cornwallis and forced an end to the hostilities. The Hornsby House is a wonderful location to stay in Yorktown and it’s accommodations are beautiful combined with delicious food. We will be back.

My wife and I just returned home from a beautiful three day getaway to Historic Yorktown, VA. We stayed at the historic Hornsby House Inn located right in the middle of Yorktown's historic district. This was our 31st stay at this beautiful Inn. You can probably guess that I have only five star rating to give to this remarkable Inn. You might be saying that there is no way that this guy is going to say anything negative about this place. You're absolutely correct because the Hornsby House Inn is about as perfect you can get when looking to stay at a B&B or Inn. The positive vibe that permeates throughout the Inn is a result of the outstanding staff of Tom, Kat, and Lexi headed by the owner Dave, who grew up in the house. The rooms are impeccable with beautiful furnishings and beds so comfortable you wish you could take them home with you. The breakfast is absolutely amazing, one delicious dish after another. You'll not find a better breakfast anywhere. Enough from me, you need to contact the Hornsby House Inn and experience it yourself.

My husband and I stayed in the Monument Room for three nights and had a lovely time! The room is very large, with a fireplace, access to the large balcony with lounge chairs for warm weather, a king and two single beds, and sitting area! The house was decorated for Christmas so particularly appealing with all the antiques already interesting to see. We had a self-check in and essentially felt like the house was our own as only a few rooms were occupied. We had a delivery of a delicious steak dinner from the only high level restaurant in Yorktown in front of the fire, with our bottle of wine and it was perfect. The three breakfasts were beyond fabulous with great coffee and company. David, one of the owners whose family has had the house for many years, gave us an amazing history of Yorktown, the Revolutionary War, and the house itself on our first day, which was far better and nuanced than what is offered at the American Revolution Museum. Tom was a great host and my husband was thrilled to play the lovely Steinway in preparation for a concert he is performing in March. Highly recommend!

Hornsby was a wonderful place to stay. Close to Yorktown Battlefield NP, Jamestown NP & Colonial Williamsburg. Stay there, and use it as a home base to see it all. The breakfast was delicious, and it feels like staying in a home. We will stay here again. Lovely to walk around the neighborhood too.

Lovely 1930s grand house smack dab in the middle of historic Main St. I stayed in the ground floor carriage house right outside the main house. My room was well-appointed with a comfortable bed and sitting chairs. I had access to the house which is decorated much as it was when innkeeper David was growing up living in the house his grandfather built. Breakfast was complete, delicious, and served promptly at 8:45 during which David regaled us with stories of the house and a brief history of Yorktown. The behind the scenes work was done by the team of Tom, Kat, and Lexi all of whom were friendly and ran a tight ship. I was fortunate to be around for the Friday wine and cheese happy hour which was a nice touch. The grounds are vast with lots of seating both on the porch and throughout the yard, it didn’t hurt that I had gorgeous weather. Park your car and enjoy walking around the town. What a delightful place, I would definitely visit again.
