We booked 2 nights for new year !! Very old building which we enjoy staying these type of properties Scott the owner very welcoming both Claire’s was very friendly and helpful As was the rest off the team Couldn’t fault our stay Live band what the duck ! Was brilliant Saturday night and New Year’s Eve was karaoke again brilliant night Bedrooms was clean bed was comfortable Breakfast was lovely and big ! Thankyou for a wonderful stay Scott and your team are a credit to you We will definitely stay again when we come back to York Donna Scott Clive Christine

Just returned home from a 2 nights stay ,Scott and his team were lovely ,very friendly and couldn't do enough for us . Breakfast was cooked to order and was delicious both mornings . Our room was large with very comfortable beds along with everything you needed ,coffee tea toiletries and also a hairdryer if needed .

lovely little pub great service.. mid location to everything...pretty quiet when i was there but weather was horrible .. got warm n dry over a drink.. not expensive ..great for family's ..couples or solo. def worth a visit if your in York. relaxed

Room was supposed to be a superior room. Although large with a reasonable view, it was very tired and in need of a complete refurbishment (the manager agreed.) The pillows and bed were lumpy, towels thin and grey. Went for breakfast at 7.50 but door was locked so didn't try braskfast - nothing was said to us about breakfast times. We've stayed in many hotels, Inns and B&B's but have always been able to get breakfast at this time during the week.

In great location handy to shops and pubs, lovely cosy rooms, breakfast excellant plenty of everything, good pub very friendly,Would recommend,👍

Stayed with daughter one night stay. In twin room loft style room with ensuite bath/shower. Made to feel welcome with friendly staff and locals in the main bar having drinks. Would stay again. Lovely brekfast with plenty of tea/ coffee offered. Near train station and city centre 10 minutes walk.

Stayed here with my sister on an overnight stay in York. We were warmly welcomed and the landlord was so helpful. The twin room was immaculate,with fluffy towels and complimentary toiletries, and tea and coffee. Breakfast was included and the full English was amazing! Would definitely stay again.

A fantastic welcome which lasted for the whole 4 days, 3 nights we were here. Lovely atmosphere and so clean. We were in room 5 on the top floor, and we didn’t hear any noise from the pub downstairs or outside. Would defo recommend and would stay here again.
