Best Hostel in Yogyakarta, the one and only Minus point is the location

When I first got here I was nicely greeted by the staff and they were very very kind and helpful with my check-in and offering to help me with almost anything you could imagine. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The dorm itself that I stayed in is very clean and has a great AC. The sheets in the bed are clean and the mattress is very comfortable. In your space there are space for hanging your towel which is also handed by the staff and your small bags. You also get a locker next to the reception which fit a big backpack but doesn't fit the biggest of backpacks. The toilets and showers are clean and there's also a lovely small tub that is the perfect place to cool yourself down in the evening. There's also a tap for drinkable water and I always felt safe and my stuff secure. The other people staying here are also very friendly and talkative. Really enjoyed my stay here!

Would we stay here again: No, but not because of any bad experience, but we would pay more for a better maintenance. What we liked: The hotel was in a very good location, in the street there were some very good restaurants. Furthermore, this is a real back-packer hotel, so people where very helpful with respect with tips and tricks and what to visit when and how to get there. Also there was a very nice bathtub in which you could cool down after a long day. Improvement: The room was not so clean, it had some damages on the wall (paint coming off), the lock was also not very 'strong', could easily be broken if someone wanted to, the bedsheet also had some stains. The showers were also not hot while it was said they would be. In general, the things mentioned are small and could easily be fixed, so why isn't it? However, looking at the price, this 'quality' is most likely also regarded as OK. However, our recommendation would be: increase the price with a couple of euro's and improve on the maintenance.
