I Stayed for 10 days. Location is good as you will find all shopping options nearby. Hotel staff is very helpful and supportive. Need little improvement on swimming pool area specially during evening.

The location was unprincipled, as we rented a car. The rooms are large and clean, everything you need is available. Very upset by the weak pressure of water in the shower (room 436), it is generally impossible to wash. Breakfast is quite decent, there are cereals, scrambled eggs, omelettes. Ham, of course, disgusting, no pork. Otherwise, a good option.

Hotel looks nice on the outside but you’ll see lots of thing waiting for you. When we arrived in the hotel we see that the people who are working at reception were nice but doesn’t give the basic information about the hotel unless you ask lots of questions. Nothing was explained. Then we switched to our room by ourselves and found out there was a bottle of water which already had been used. Thankfully the Bellboy helped us and solved the problem, we appreciate him. He is the guy who saves receptions lack of information and lack of interest. After relaxing a little we decided to have some air at the restaurant area which is the only place that has open area. But no one cares what you asked or even doesn’t bother coming and asking you as if you’d like to have something. And that’s our first 30 minutes unfortunately. We booked for 3 nights and we’ll see what’s going to happen next. Maybe it’s just our experience.

Good location, joint to Muscat grand mall and Muscat avenues mall, space room, no safety box, no sleepers and no cotton pads

The hotel is a bit far from the city. It is a 10-minute drive from the port and the palace. It is convenient to drive by car. There is free parking. The price is still good. The location is not convenient without a car. After eating, it can be the International Union Hotel.

As soon as I entered the room, there was an inexplicable tidal smell. Even after a day, the smell was still there. The facilities in the room were quite old. The room was very far away. It took a long time to walk from the room to the elevator entrance. The sand on the beach was very thick. Very bad experience. The overall environment of the hotel is good

This was our third visit and Shangri-La Al Husn is just as good as it’s always been. As we got out of the car we were met with ‘welcome back Mr and Mrs Brown’ from a number of staff members before we even got to check-in. Check-in was very quick and we were taken straight to our room which was the same room we have had on each previous visits - we would definitely recommend a deluxe sea view room. The whole hotel including the rooms are decorated and furnished to an exceptional standard. As the worldwide tourism industry recovers financially from Covid we wondered whether some of the touches that make the Al Husn unique would have understandably been removed but they haven’t - mini bar continues to be included as well as afternoon tea, cool box with water and juice at the pool and beach and, our personal favourite - aperitif hour between 6pm and 7pm. Whilst all restaurants are yet to re-open this didn’t impact our enjoyment as there are still plenty of options. Since we were last here the SE Asian restaurant has opened which is excellent. We have commented on this before but it must be said again that what makes the Al Husn stand out is the quality of the staff. It’s not an exaggeration to say that every member of staff we met were excellent and went over and above in the standard of service they provide. Particular praise has to go to Said and Chimna at the pool together with Bradley, Alain and Godswill in the Sultanah restaurant. There is absolutely nothing we would change about the Al Husn and this definitely won’t be our last visit.

Personally, I think the hotel I like the most during this trip to the Middle East is 20 minutes’ drive from the downtown area of Oman. The hotel can help you book trips to the sea to watch dolphins and snorkeling, etc. It is also very comfortable to stay in the hotel. Compared with the United Arab Emirates, I like Oman the most! Sea blue, few people, clean. Will come here again in the future!
