This is a lovely modern motel within easy walking distance of downtown Yass. As soon as we entered the room everything smelt fresh and things were clean in what was still a Covid environment. We stayed several days and due to staff shortages, which is an Australia-wide hospitality industry issue, the room wasn’t serviced on a daily basis. But it was no issue pulling up the bed and reusing towels, however we would have liked the tiny bin emptied daily. Having said that, if we’d asked the motel managers they would have arranged it, as they are truly customer focused and attentive to guest requests. We ate in the restaurant several times and the high quality and presentation surpassed that of many Sydney and Melbourne restaurants. Highly recommended.

We always stay at the Colonial Lodge Motor Inn when we drive to Sydney or Noosaville. Over the years, the present owners have spruced up and modernised each room with new lamps, fittings and complete bathroom overhauls - this has caused the tariff to rise a bit, but it still represents quite good value. The rooms are always immaculately cleaned, with crisp sheets and efficient towels. We like this place!

We booked in advance a family room with a king bed and two bunks. Upon arrival we were given a room that had two double beds, the configuration we booked was not available. The room stunk of smoke and was just so smelly we couldn’t stay in it. We asked management that we have the room we booked and paid for. They stated that they were unable to provide us the room we booked as there were no free rooms as a youth conference was on at this time as well and all rooms were taken. We did manage to get the disabled room after negotiation and were delighted it didn’t stink. But the problems kept appearing.. the taps in the shower fell off the wall when you had a shower, the bathroom flooded every time we showered, so my husband made an essential towel drainage solution so we could shower without flooding the bathroom. Youth conference participants turned there music on at midnight and again at 6am, next door which we could clearly hear the walls were not sound proof and the curtains had holes in them.. The overall feel I got was one of total neglect. The gardens were overgrown, paint was peeling off the outdoor and indoor spaces and in general it was a very depressing place to stay. Certainly would not ever pay for this experience again! As it was Easter nothing else was available so we put up with it but I would never return and would not recommend anyone book at this hotel unless you are absolutely desperate.

Find this hotel as our overnight stop when we drove back from Sydney to Melbourne. About 10 mins drive after exiting M31 and it's easy to find. We check in late so they left the key in a locked box with instruction. The process is seamlessly easy. The room is spacious with a Queen bed and a single bed, just perfect for 3 of us. Everything is so clean, probably one of the cleanest hotels I've ever been. Our room is facing the driveway and it has a slide door access towards it, so it's plus that we can load our stuffs to /from the car easily. Beds and beddings are comfortable, and there's nothing to complain about our stay.

It is about 3 hours away from Sydney by car. The room is not big but very clean. It has 1 double bed and 1 single bed. Parking is available at the door of the room. The room has hot and cold air-conditioning. The bath water is very hot and the bathroom is equipped with body soap. Shampoo and soap, a kettle for boiling water, wine glasses, knives and forks. There is no restaurant near the hotel. You can eat at the rest stop on the highway and then check into the hotel.
