Stayed at Moon Villa in June (off season) and had a delightful stay. The room was perfect, spacious and very clean. Bathroom also spotless (I had to share it with a huge spider for the last day, but it’s a countryside hotel, so that’s par for the course). Fresh fruit sent to my room every day. The set breakfast consisted of tea or coffee, very tasty noodles, egg, some sort of fritter or bread most mornings, optional toast, and other little bits and pieces - very tasty, although I could have wished for a little more variation. Swimming pool was clean and quite big, with a gorgeous view over the fields to the karsts. The hotel staff were incredibly helpful and attentive, making a wechat group to help coordinate activities like biking and hiking, taxi to Guilin airport etc etc. The hotel is just off the road heading out of Yangshuo, about a 10-15 minute cab ride into the West street area, so would be perfect for those who don’t want to stay right in the heart of the action with all the crowds and thumping techno music of the bars, but you will need to get transport to go lost places. Overall highly recommend this hotel.
