Yancheng Gangfu Wenhua Hotel

I had a very satisfying stay at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Yancheng. The hotel parking was very convenient, and I could even charge my electric car there. The staff provided excellent service; after checking in at the front desk, the butler, Sen Lin, personally guided me to my room, which was a very thoughtful touch. The room itself was clean and comfortable, offering beautiful views. The air quality around the hotel was excellent. Next time I visit Yancheng, I will definitely choose to stay at the Mandarin Oriental again!

The hotel room itself was decent, but there was a persistent odor from the cabinets and floors, and it was even stronger in the hallway. The room had a very strong woody smell from the moment I entered. The room height was good, making it quite comfortable, but the toiletries were terrible, far below what you'd expect from a star-rated hotel. Overall, the value for money was very low. Although they offered many complimentary services, the grilled skewers and cake weren't good. The breakfast restaurant was incredibly hot at first; I was sweating while eating noodles, and the food wasn't tasty either. I'm puzzled by all the reviews mentioning the breakfast variety, as I couldn't find it.

Objective review: When I booked this hotel, I had already mentally prepared myself due to the low online ratings. Although it cost over a thousand yuan, upon arrival, it turned out to be far worse than I imagined. As soon as I entered, there was a strong smell of cheap renovation. When I brought it up to the staff, they suggested changing rooms, but the other rooms had the same or even stronger odors. So, I reluctantly sat down, only to find that not a single chair was clean, and there were what looked like uncleaned vomit stains on the carpet. I thought, 'Well, I'm not directly touching it,' and tried to ignore it, but the staff claimed it was the carpet's original color. Throughout this, with the persistent smell in the room, I had basically shut down my sense of smell. Later that night, when I pulled back the covers, there was a mended hole on them. What was already a terrible evening instantly felt like an eternity, leaving an unforgettable memory of this Yancheng trip! Thankfully, I only booked one night; I didn't sleep a wink!

The hotel is located by the lake, directly opposite the Chinese Begonia Garden. The room was clean and tidy, with complimentary fruit, snacks, and a free minibar. We also received a complimentary BBQ and a healthy porridge. Bicycle rental was also free.

This is probably the best hotel in Yancheng. It's high-end and luxurious. The butler service was excellent throughout our stay, and the hotel facilities are top-notch. Our room had a huge soaking tub, which the kids absolutely loved. Outdoors, there's an infinity pool, a gym, and bikes for rent. The hotel is right next to the Chinese Crabapple Garden and close to Zhuxi Ancient Town. We even received a small gift when checking out. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and we'll definitely be back.

Our butler was excellent, young, handsome, and very attentive. This is arguably the best hotel in Yancheng, high-end and luxurious. The butler's attentive service was exceptional, providing full follow-up throughout our stay. The hotel facilities are very comprehensive, featuring an infinity pool, gym, and bicycles for riding. The location is also great, situated within中華海棠園 (Zhonghua Haitang Garden) and close to Zhuxi Ancient Town.

This was my first time driving to Yancheng, and I chose to stay at the Harbour House Mandarin Hotel. My experience was excellent and very satisfying. Parking at the hotel was very convenient. After checking in at the front desk, the butler, Sen Lin, personally guided me to my room. The service was attentive and warm. Every day, I enjoyed a rich, customized breakfast. The hotel is located by the water, offering beautiful lake views right from the room. It was quiet, and the air quality was excellent. I will definitely come back again!

Overall, the value for money isn't great, and it's not worth the price. However, the service was still very good. The twin room didn't have a balcony with a lake view, and the room was quite small. The two beds were very close together, and you could only see a corner of the lake from the room. I have to praise the hotel breakfast; it was very thoughtfully prepared and excellent. There are three outdoor pools: one infinity pool, which is a bit larger, and two smaller children's pools. Even though they are outdoors, they really should be cleaned and scrubbed regularly. They were really dirty. It shouldn't just be limited to staff scooping out floating debris with a net. I couldn't stop my child from wanting to swim, but after going in for a short while, they found it too dirty and didn't want to swim anymore. After swimming, their swim cap was covered in grime.

Our butler, Forest, provided excellent service. The room had complimentary fruit and a nightly sweet soup. The Dyson hairdryer and other small touches really showed the attention to detail and care for guests. The breakfast was custom-made with a wide variety of options. Overall, a great stay! 👍
