This is honestly one of the most magical experiences for me in Japan. Wish we stay for a few more nights. Staff is super friendly. Food is fantastic. and the VIEW! It's really something. To be honestly, I was worried the public bath would be super crowded but there isnt anyone there when we are there. It's really really fantastic. My parents said it made their skin better... Would recommend the eatery next door. Two ladies run it and they are super sweet and the food is very affordable and yummy!

The environment is great, and the service is thoughtful. Dinner was incredibly rich and diverse, offering sushi and DIY tempura. There's also a rooftop bar that feels like an outdoor picnic.

While not exactly cheap for a new hotel, especially considering the current rates, there's absolutely nothing outside the entrance. We arrived around 6 PM, and waited endlessly for someone at the front desk. For a hotel costing over 2000, it's pretty unbelievable that we had to carry our own luggage in with no one to greet us. After a long wait, one person finally showed up, only to spend ages helping the foreigners in front of us check-in. It took forever until it was finally our family of eight's turn. They just handed us the room cards without volunteering any information about where the hot springs were or anything else. The experience was truly awful. The room itself wasn't very big, the TV only had five channels, and the phone was broken.

A good place to stay to access the Monkey Forest etc. the place was very clean and rooms very spacious. Not a lot of food options if you don’t book long in advance, staff were not particularly helpful in helping to arrange either transport nor suggesting where to go for dinner. Service amounted to: ‘taxis are full, too late to book food here…etc’ so whilst not rude, also not helpful. Would probably stay elsewhere if visiting the area again based on service.

The hotel itself was good, with friendly staff and excellent food. However, our stay was negatively affected by a serious booking issue. We booked through Trip for 3 adults and 1 child. The booking details clearly stated that only the onsen tax was payable at the hotel with no disclosure of additional charges for a child. I also emailed the hotel prior to our stay to clarify details but received no response. At checkout, we were unexpectedly charged an additional 40% of the adult rate for our child despite not requesting or using an extra bed. The hotel informed us they were only notified of 3 adults, confirming a miscommunication and misleading information on Trip.

Paid $600 for room of 3, includes breakfast only, no dinner. Not value for money. Average amenities. Free shuttle from Yudanaka station. They also pick us up when we had dinner near the station. The bathroom are well structured so 3 person can use basin toilet and bath at the same time. It would be great if not for the price. 10 min walk from the station and it's slippery during winter.

Loved the hotel! Our first ryokan experience with half board. Breakfast, dinner and onsen experience were all superb. Would love to stay again.

I’ve really enjoyed spending the weekend at Anurag’s Tousen. The onsen was amazing (make sure you try them both), the staff were friendly and had great attitude and communication skills, and the breakfast had more and better vegetarian options than I’ve had at high-end hotels in Tokyo and Kyoto.

The hotel can't provide us a room and has refunded. We are totally disappointed and suffering both physically and mentally. I wil provide you trip.com the official invoice indicating the refund and the name card of their Manager. Please proceed the refund process. Many thanks.

Good place to relax and stay…

We couldn’t travel due to illness and the hotel would not consider refunding the fees.

Excellent service. Thoroughly enjoyed the stay. Private room dinner was also great and good experience.
