Kamei No Yu

The hot spring hotel experience was amazing! The dinner and breakfast were absolutely delicious! The service was attentive and meticulous 👍, and the price was incredibly reasonable. Highly recommended! Remember to call ahead to reserve a pick-up service from the station!

Located in a cluster of hotels near Yudanaka Station, about 200-300 meters from the station, Kami is a very Japanese-style hotel. The young man with the mushroom-shaped haircut provided a detailed explanation of everything, so much so that I felt he spent about 20-30 minutes explaining everything from check-in to getting the key to my room. We stayed in a garden view + bathroom room, which actually had a shared garden view; other rooms could see it if someone was near the sliding door. The bathroom, which I expected to be an open-air bath, was actually just a toilet and bathroom within the room. It was extremely cold in winter, with only a small heater, which wasn't very useful. The air conditioning in the room seemed weak, but there was a large heater nearby, which was very warm, and the room was generally warm. Upon check-in, the hotel provided hot water and Japanese sweets in the room for guests. Because there are very few rooms, it was extremely quiet at night; there was no sound of upstairs neighbors or doors closing. This hotel offers two public hot springs (including an open-air bath). Dinner and access to two other hot springs require a 5-minute walk to the guesthouse. Overall, the experience was quite good, but both the dinner at the hotel and the breakfast at the inn were Japanese-style dishes, which I personally didn't like.

I felt it was worth more than the price. The entire hotel had a modern Japanese feel, which I was impressed by, but when I opened the door to the shower room in my room, I was surprised by the contrast with the very Showa-era atmosphere. 😂 There was hair left in the shower, a spider for some reason, and dust in the upper part of the room, which may be a concern for some. The food was incredibly delicious, the landlady was lovely, and personally, it was much better than the nine-bath tour. Considering the overall quality of service and price, it was really good value, and I didn't have any issues with the cleaning. I think hotels overseas for the same price are even better. 😂 It was a hotel that made me want to return!

This Japanese-style room was booked for a friend. The room layout is similar to the twin room. There are sliding doors to separate the entrance, balcony and room. The bathrooms are designed on both sides of the balcony. The difference is the size of the Japanese-style room. It's bigger. There is a sliding door in the middle that can divide the room into two rooms. The bathroom is also Japanese-style dry and wet separation. The twin room is an ordinary Western-style bathroom. Everything in the room is new and clean~ and there are two thermos bottles when you check in. Filled with hot water and ice water respectively, very considerate! The photos are respectively breakfast → rice balls and snacks in the afternoon → welcome refreshments during check-in~

We were a bit pressed for time, so the experience must have been somewhat affected due to personal reasons. Overall, it's okay. It feels more like a family-style B&B, not the style of staying in a hotel in the past. The price is right Let’s go to the hotel next door for dinner. The sukiyaki is pretty good. It’s hard to pinpoint the feeling of bathing in a hot spring in summer, but they will arrange a private bath time of half an hour.
