City Hotel Xiamen (Zhongshan Road Wanshi Botanical Garden Hotel) Reviews

This was my first time staying at Xiamen Hotel, and the room arranged by the front desk staff, employee #72, was quite good. The night view from the window was beautiful, and I could even see the Twin Towers. The lobby staff, employee #68, was also excellent; they helped me store my luggage before I went to the restaurant for lunch and even gave me a small gift. The telephone operator and the floor attendant were also very helpful. I'd like to commend all of them for their great service! This stay at Xiamen Hotel made my trip very enjoyable!!!

Better than expected! We came to Xiamen as a family and stayed at this hidden gem of a guesthouse. The hotel itself is a museum, filled with many photos that bear witness to Xiamen's history. The kids' play area is perfect for younger children.

The facilities are complete, the location is convenient, and the breakfast is decent. The hotel has a beautiful garden, and Butler #71 provided excellent service through WeChat. It's also right next to the botanical garden. The service was fantastic, highly recommended.

I highly recommend Xiamen Hotel! My stay was fantastic, and I especially want to thank Front Office Concierge 089 for their prompt response to my requests and their warm, attentive service. The hotel environment is quiet and comfortable, the facilities are clean and tidy, and the location is excellent, making it convenient for getting around and dining. Overall, it offers great value for money. My entire stay was pleasant, and I've already given it a five-star rating. I'll definitely choose this place again next time I'm in Xiamen!

The room was quite spacious and clean. The staff were very enthusiastic, and even gave a souvenir upon check-out. The hotel's location is excellent, very close to the botanical garden, only about a six or seven-minute walk away. However, I'd advise against visiting the 'Siguo' sweet soup shop nearby; it was a huge disappointment – not tasty at all and incredibly overpriced, a total rip-off.

This hotel is incredibly convenient. The subway station is right outside, and it's a short walk to Zhongshan Road Walking Street. Getting to Xiamen University and Nanputuo Temple is also very easy. The hotel itself is quite large, with two buildings, and the rooms are very clean.

The front desk service was excellent. Seeing that there were four of us, they kindly upgraded our room for free. Employee number 233 was especially thoughtful. The upgraded room made our trip much more convenient, and the room itself was spacious and clean. The restaurant offered a wide variety of dishes. The hotel's location was very convenient, and it was well-equipped with facilities.

A very satisfying hotel stay. The hotel's environment and layout are beautiful, and the lobby is impressive! The facilities are complete and well-arranged, and the air conditioning temperature was just right. Parking was also very convenient.

Service: We were upgraded to a family suite in Building 5. It's up a hill, but you can request a golf cart shuttle. Environment: The hotel is located on a hillside with lush trees and grass, offering an excellent environment. The subway station is just a short walk around the corner from the South Gate.

The hotel environment is excellent, and the location is great too. The botanical garden is within walking distance, and the subway isn't far either. Following the hotel's 4 PM activity schedule was a fantastic way to learn about Xiamen. The staff are very enthusiastic and explain everything patiently – truly excellent. The room was very quiet, no noise at all. The hotel offers laundry service, but since there are few dryers, many people queue up at night. When checking in, there were quite a few people at the front desk and no one guiding the queue. Also, many guests kept interrupting the check-in process with questions, which made my check-in experience unpleasant. They could definitely have a separate staff member to handle such inquiries.

As a first-generation state guesthouse, it boasts a strong sense of history with its garden complex design, catering to various guest needs. The family room's two beds were both quite large, but the facilities were somewhat dated. The hotel's location is excellent, providing easy access to major attractions on Xiamen Island. The front desk service was also good.

I stayed in Building 8, which I believe is a newer building. The decor was very elegant with a Chinese style, and there was a gramophone on the desk. The service was excellent and very responsive; they even provided a desk lamp for my child to do homework. Although some facilities in the room had minor issues (a loose floor lamp, and the USB-C port wasn't working), overall it was still satisfactory. There were several small service details that really made a positive impression, such as laundry detergent provided in the room and complimentary fruit for the first two days of our stay. The breakfast was quite good; although the variety wasn't extensive, you could tell a lot of thought went into it. The hot dishes tasted excellent, and they even changed daily for the three days we were there. They offered unique hot dishes like water caltrops and sticky rice chicken, and there was also Shacha noodles, seasoned to suit popular tastes.
