Ethos Hotel Wuhan Riverside Reviews

The ethos hotel is a great choice if you're planning a trip to wuhan! The hotel is perfectly located in the center of the "Bund" area of wuhan. We spent two days walking around that area but barely scratched the surface. The rooms were very modern, clean and comfortable, albeit fairly small with a bit of a 'wasted' tiny balcony area and a tiny bathroom. The breakfast was fairly limited in choices but there are some classic wuhan breakfast options on offer so you can get your fix of reganmian or doupi if you want. The options were limited but they were quite tasty and fresh. There is a laundry room and a gym, there's supposed to be an outer deck, but it seemed to be closed when we tried to go outside, a bit of a shame because we wanted to see the view. Overall would recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to

Nice hotel and convenient location. The room is a bit small, but the beds are comfortable and the room was clean. The breakfast was very nice and had a variety of western and Chinese dishes, as well as options for vegetarians and very nice coffee.

Good hotel. Room is a bit on the smaller side, but it is very close to everything. The security man downstairs is very friendly. Can get quite noisy on Friday and Saturday nights.

Not a true international hotel or 4*. Breakfast needs better selection of fruit. Nothing western except fake dry bread. Elevator has no floor numbers outside, thus no idea how long the wait is or it's location.

Not clean, bedsheet got hair Poor service, receptionist was not helpful nor friendly. At end of the trip we left a sweater and asked for collect-pay courier. No action until we called and chased again and again. Disappointing stay

The hotel accommodation experience is not bad. The location is very good and it is close to Jianghan Road Pedestrian Street. The room is clean, tidy and comfortable. There are many restaurants nearby. The service attitude of the hotel staff is warm and thoughtful. I hope to come again next time

What a fabulous quirky boutique type hotel in a great location for exploring Hankou Bund Cultural Area, perfect spot for a stroll along the river park, the bund, the back streets and main stream shopping. Our room overlooked the Yangtze River so we had an amazing light show along the river bank every night till 10pm. The room was clean and bed large and comfortable, and we were happy for the bathtub (along with separate shower). Staff were amazing and despite our lack of Chinese they were very helpful and would always find us an English speaker if needed. Breakfast was wholesome and varied, with anything from Pastries to Re Gan Mian. The hotel had lots of facilities that we made use of, from the a fully kitted out laundry room (great as we'd been travelling a bit), gym and a fab rooftop bar with terrace. All round great experience and good value.

A truly great hotel! The staff was very helpfull and one of the very few places that had english speakers (for us europeans this is quite a big deal here). The breakfast was very good, lots to chose from. The room was tidy, cozy and clean. The locations was just perfect! Near everything and very walkable, at least for us. This is the hotel to stay at!

Smooth checkin and the staff were friendly , near the bund but the breakfast can be improved

The hotel looks pretty hip from outside. It’s quite clean and also near to some nearby attraction. The room size I picked is slightly smaller than what we needed. Overall good experience with the stay.

The location really is the hotel’s best feature. It is situated right by the river, and the there is a nice street market no more than 100 meters away. The lively Jianghan street is also somewhat close. The rooms are clean and staff is pleasant as well. They did call me several times after I checked out asking for a five-star review, which I do not appreciate. Otherwise no complaints!

First time visit Wuhan, good food, good service, excellent view and close to scenic

BEWARE IF YOU PAY AT THE FRONT DESK AT THE HOTEL. THEY DOUBLE-CHARGED US AND DID NOT REFUND THE OVERCHARGE. We booked through Trip.com and selected to pay at the hotel (our mistake). We used our Alipay QR code to pay at the front desk, but the transaction took a while and seemed to have failed (slow internet connection). We tried again and the second time it was successful. It wasn't until we left Wuhan and checked our credit card statements that we noticed two of the same charges from the Ethos Hotel. Contacting the hotel, the staff was pleasant and helpful but never admitted to seeing a double-charge in their system. The person on the phone said they would investigate and asked us to call back later. After a day, we called back; they said they contacted Trip.com and that a refund was given to us. This refund they were referring to was the Trip.com deposit to hold our rooms. We explained the situation again, but the person helping us kept saying we should contact Trip.com even though we paid the hotel directly. Now back at home, we contacted Trip.com. After chatting with one of their reps, and providing our credit card and Alipay statements as proof of the double charge, they said they would get back to us. The result was an email with the message, "Duplicate deduction/overcharge-Duplicate deduction/overcharge: Not duplicate deduction/overcharge." We are not surprised by this result, as Trip.com cannot verify any payments that took place because the actual payment happened at the HOTEL FRONT DESK. So here we are trying to go through our bank to see if they can do something because they CAN see the 2 charges that were 3 minutes apart from the same hotel. We hope this will be resolved and all this was a misunderstanding... time will tell.
