White Horse Inn

I have not been here for many years and I’m so glad we decided to eat there . Amazing food clearly cooked by passionate chefs . Service was lovely and we were made to feel welcome. Only wished I had saved room for dessert

The White Horse was the prefect place to stay for a short break. There are 5 rooms set in a mews style adjacent to the thatched pub. Very comfortable rooms are quite quirky with a large bathroom with P shaped bath/shower situated on the upper floor. The dining rooms are open plan and delightfully welcoming with an open fire and charming staff. The dinner and breakfast was just superb.

What a lovely pub! The menu selection was so interesting and of such high quality - devilled kidneys, sea bass, calves liver, home cooked burger all to be recommended. Service was top-notch - quick and always with a smile. After 5 miles of ridgeway walking, this is the perfect place to enjoy a quality lunch with the finest Arkell ales. Thank you - we’ll be back!

The menu is a delight, and includes many things that one does not find elsewhere (such as sweetbreads - heavenly). There were also interesting vegetarian options. The chef is a master of his art. The staff are efficient and friendly, the atmosphere pleasant. I would have liked a slightly longer wine list, but understand that in the current economic climate it is difficult to keep too much stock.

Wonderful food and amazing staff. Reasonably priced, clean throughout and nice setting for a meal with friends. Definite recommendation for anyone in the area.

A lovely little pub and accommodation. The rooms were recently updated and the 4 cottages by the side were 2 storey with bedroom downstairs and bathroom upstairs. This room was delightful and roomy and the ensuite was brilliant. The whole room was clean and well provided. Evening meal was a speciality pizza night and was excellent. Breakfast also scrummy. All in all fab stay.

A beautiful and welcoming hotel. The main building with all its historic charm retained and the bedrooms main and well equipped . There was a wide choice of ales and our dinner was delicious. Breakfast featured local ingredients and was very tasty. We were very pleased with our choice of stay and will return when we can

Walked in completely blanked by bar staff. No hello, no be with you in a minute, just went about their business. Headed straight back out again - wouldn't waste a penny of my cash here. Plenty of other places to go in the area. Interestingly, I see this has happened to others. Clearly the pub management are ok with the policy of treating potential customers as unwelcome guests. If you like to spend a pleasant afternoon somewhere - don't go here !
