The Ritz Residence

Stayed at the Ritz-village in week 8, 2024 The hotel rooms were great - stayed at The Recident - modern and great design and with nice view. The small shop at the facilities covers the most needed goods. The hotel location is near by center of the city Breakfast area was nice and quiet with a view to the pool. Highlight was for sure being taken care of by Shalini - she really made our stay fantastic from beginning to end - an exceptional role model in person and she did anything she could to make our stay perfect, thanks and best ever 😀👍 Further - I seldomly comment on housekeeping personal but beside doing a great job(always nice and clean room), they were truly kind and spread good vibes😀 I can only give Ritz -village Recident my best recommendation 😀😀😀

The place is clean. I had a “penthouse” studio. Meaning I had a room on the 3rd floor (highest level) “ocean view”.. Very far away, you can see a sliver of it. It’s definitely walking distance to Punda and Otrobanda. Bleu Plaza and the market along with the tourist shops are a very easy walk from here. Some reviews say it’s not in a good neighborhood, makes me laugh. You walk under a bridge past the Swiss consulate…. a little garbage (everywhere in the world you see garbage) past the IMAX and across a walking bridge and bam your in Punda. It is NOT a bad neighborhood. This is called the Ritz Village because they have all kinds of accommodation options. There’s a small market in the grounds. Staff at check in were very nice. Bar and pool staff don’t give a poop about you. Tried to get a cup of coffee on our first morning and they acted like I was this huge inconvenience. We never tried the food. Didn’t to get a drink at the pool bar, I was told they had no ice and the taps weren’t working. The room, bed was comfortable enough, the TV in the bedroom area did not work. ( I like to watch a movie before bed, not to sit and watch it all day all night) the description says you can stream Netflix… you can not cast or stream. WiFi was adequate. Living room furniture was NOT comfortable and was pretty warn. Patio furniture was fine but the door was like a garage door. The whole thing opens and you can close the sliding door to the bedroom area and keep it cool. If you don’t like cigarette smoke and your neighbor smokes it’s coming right at you. Says sound proof room no way possible. Room cleaning was done every 3 days. One of the days we came home late afternoon and found our door wide open. Towels placed on the kitchen counter and nothing else done. Like they started and left and then forgot to come back. That was not good. Nothing was missing but, it was wide open. Location good, accommodation mediocre. It was not cheap. I’ll go back to an Airbnb

The check in experience was not great! I think the front desk needs some work. The manager was great and extremely helpful. The reason why I’m giving this a 3 star vs 4 or 5: 1) the grocery store was never open closes at noon 2) you can’t get any food at the pool bar 3) you are only allowed 1 room key which sucks and controls the air 4) they want to charge for clean towels we only had 1 in our room. Which we booked 3 rooms 5) the TV never worked you need an android phone 6) outlet was European The good 1) great location 2) parking easy 3) the place is clean 4) safe 5) nice pool area 6) rooms are spacious

The hotel is in a bad area without any restaurants or services. Hotel amenities are below average and service was abysmal.

Awesome! Very clean! Option to get cleaning every day. Pool is gorgeous. Away from all the noise of all the festivities, so sleep was undisturbed, but still conveniently located (and safe) to walk anywhere.

The room was lovely and well-maintained and the property was safe. The guards did an excellent job ensuring safety. Most of the staff members were accommodating but there was a couple who were a bit rude. The buffet breakfast listed at $15 per person was completely not worth it. Information about deposits should be listed up front. The Wi-Fi doesn’t work well in some areas.

We liked the pool area, we liked the room how the rolling shutters that when opened left the whole room open, we also liked the tranquility, nice soft bed and hot water in the shower.

Nice modern apartment perfectly located from downtown. Room for improvement would be: broken outdoor light, low water pressure, laundry closet needs a light, door lock tricky to lock. Otherwise, it was a great apartment and good value for the price. Let's hope the green space stays as it provides a quiet nature and beautiful birds.
