We couldn’t have been more pleased with our accommodations. It is within walking distance to restaurants , the Old Market, Floating Bridge, museums and the beach. The room includes private gated parking. Our host/owner, Roger was very accommodating. As typical Americans.- we love ice. He brought us 4 trays of ice.😄 This historic building, built in the 1880 has beautiful architecture… it has been restored and is in excellent condition.. They have a beautiful outdoor sitting areas available to use. The cappuccino coffee machine is at our disposal 24 /7 . Bonus is getting to use the infinity pool at a sister resort on the beach. I would definitely stay here again. It was perfect.

Everything was great, and you can tell the hotel owner really cares about the details to make sure everyone's stay is as good as it can be. I noticed right away the finishes in the room were high quality, the shower was one of the best I've had at a hotel and the mini kitchen was perfect for our beds. The bed and sheets were comfortable, air conditioning powerful and we had a breakfast that surpassed my expectations and was catered to us as vegetarians which was nice. I really liked the coffee machine and ambience in the common areas. It was both close to the action, but far enough away to be quiet at night.

If you like a bathroom across the hall with cold shower on your vacation, that's the place to stay! That's right. Half the rooms at this property are this way. After I checked in, I was surprised and went online to make sure I didn't miss it in the description. See, mr Paul, the owner, lists the bathroom as "private" as you have the key to it (that's right...) so when you tick the "private bathroom" box on aggregator sites, it comes up. Alright, I thought, I will manage. The walls in the room are dirty, the door is dirty, there is nowhere to put your suitcase. Windows don't have blinds. The bathroom has no AC, so it's very musty and stinks like sewer. I guess it happens when you travel, although it's quite unpleasant. But then I keep reading the reviews and they mention cold water. I reach out to mr Paul who says yes indeed, multiple rooms simply don't have hot water. Including my room. And on a rainy day (like the day of my check in) the water will literally be cold. Wow! He also proceeded to say some guests discover it while taking a shower. I would have been super frustrated. What disregard for comfort of his customers. Customer service has nothing to do with this place. Anyway, for me it's not an option, so I asked about another room with normal shower, and there were none available. I asked for a refund and was told "it's impossible after check in". Now, mr Paul fails to provide accurate info on his website. Had he mentioned there is no hot water, I would have never booked the place and would have never checked in. It's a part of basic amenities that's missing. But wait, I was told, that if hot water is important to me, "I should have asked before booking". I literally hope I won't live to the day when I have to ask the property whether they have normal shower. Maybe I should also ask if there is a bed? I don't like sleeping on the floor. Or maybe there is a door? I like my privacy. This can go really far... To a private toilet in a building across the street. With your own key to use it. My last trip was to Africa and surprise - not a single place I stayed at had this problem. The place also has many rules. You'll get reprimanded for leaving the fan on if leaving the room (for 10 minutes in my case!), once you pay for your accommodations, this tone is unacceptable. The windows have no screens. The breakfast is 8-9 "on workdays". Whoever comes to Curacao to work? Also, this is NOT a place for a business traveler. You have to be there 8:45 the latest to be served exactly the same breakfast every single day (from reading the reviews). Thanks, but no thanks, what an odd "perk". I also traveled solo, and as a woman quite a bit younger than mr Paul found him repeatedly calling me "sweetie" to be inappropriate and downright offensive after he tried to put the blame on me - because I was expecting too much, obviously, a hot shower?? what luxury in year 2023! - and that's not the place to have high hopes about, - and refused to refund the res

My husband and I spent 12 days in beautiful Curacao in July. Our trip all the more memorable due to our stay at Villa Amalie in Wilemstad. From the time our host, Royer, picked us up at the airport until the day, Pohl, drove us back to the airport 12 days laters, days well spent and enjoyed. We stayed in Room#4 which was spacious, and immaculately clean with a well-functioning air-conditioner. Fresh towels and linens every 3 days. Breakfast served on their beautiful patio. Fresh fruit, eggs, ham, cheese, yogurt, lovely brown bread, orange juice and a choice of coffees and teas available from an impressive barista unit. Pohl and Royer professional, engaging, helpful and excellent in-house advisors. Villa Amalie is within walking distance of most city amenities, and they recommended restaurants, beach tours, walks to discover the beautiful artistic wall murals and pastel-coloured architecture. Walking distance to the floating Queen Emma Bridge which joins the Pundo and Otrobanda neighbourhoods. Also a 10 minute walk to their beautiful house pool. Thank you to Pohl, Royer and Ignocia for their welcoming presence. We will definitely recommend Villa Amalie to any of our friends who plan to visit Curacao.

First, Royer and Paul were amazing hosts. I can't say enough about how friendly, professional, and helpful they were. Irene was a good girl and very friendly. We were in room 5 which has an en suite bath. The room and public areas were clean and nicely decorated. There is a balcony and porch area which provided a nice place to sit and chill. Daily breakfast was simple but fresh and tasty. The Villa is within walking distance to many nice places to eat, the city center, museums, etc. Three things to note just as a heads up: 1) They use fresh water for the showers (no hot water) but it was only a problem for me the first day bc I kept trying to figure out how to get hot water. 2) No washcloths. Not a problem we just ended up buying two inexpensive ones so we could get a good scrub. Again, not a problem. 3) The pool we can use is a shortish walk it is not on site. The pool is beautiful but the only thing is it has a bit of a rough sand with shells surface. Beautiful though looking out onto the ocean. Again, wonderful experience!

Me and my wife had a wonderful stay at the Villa Amalie, we were given a free upgrade to a bigger apartment. The location was perfect and convenient for many restaurants/ attractions in Willemstad. The host went out of his way to help us feel comfortable, his suggestions were very helpful to plan our trip perfectly! The complimentary breakfast was one of the most delicious food we’ve ever had. Overall an amazing experience! Thank you for hosting us. - Manas

An absolutely perfect stay at a wonderful little place. From the personal airport pickup to the dropoff at the end, I couldn’t fault Villa Amelie. A warm welcome from the owner, great nights’ sleep, excellent breakfast al fresco, central location. Best of all the enthusiastic, personal service- nothing too much trouble. Please do visit!

Stayed here as we were working in the dock yard for 2 weeks. The room was amazing very spacious and spotlessly clean. But the real reason this place gets 5 stars is its customer service. Royer could not of done more for us he was simply the definition of good customer service.
