Our staying at the Witching Post Inn could have not been better. Our room was spacious and very confortable. And the place has a lot of personality and history. If you want to know the roots of this place you can speak to the landlord, Pete. But more important Pete makes you feel at home, as you are part of the family. The stories, the jokes and the environment in the pub is so cosy that makes you feel you are between friends. And don't look anywhere else for food and drinks. We had dinner in here during the Parmo night, and the food was fantastic, one of the best we had in the area. And this includes the beer and gins. Also, we vouch for the breakfast, the full breakfast is delicious and we couldn't get enough of it. If you are staying the area, please do yourself a favor and stay at the Witching Post Inn. I am glad we chose this place for our staying, and a big thanks to Pete and all the staff for the lovely and welcoming staying

What a night, we had a brilliant stay at the Witching Post it was a shame it was only one night. We were made very welcome by Pete and his staff had such a good laugh with him and the locals. The inn has a lovely warm happy feel and the rooms were tastefully decorated with very comfy beds. Breakfast 10/10. We had travelled on the Moorlander for a meal. The witching post is close to the station, if you want an overnight stay give Pete a ring you will not regret it. Thanks Pete and team Trish, Terry, Sue and Pete x

Pete the owner went out his way to accommodate us, and his staff were lovely and friendly. He offered to give us a lift to the wedding we were attending and gave us toothpaste when we forgot to pack some 🤦🏼‍♀️. The breakfast was 10/10 and we had a lovely little hot drink station in our room. I will be highly recommending the witching post inn to family and friends!

This was a cracking place to stay, a 2 night midweek break handily located for Whitby, NYMR and Middlesbrough. They only have 3 rooms though so book early as they rarely have any vacancies. The bed was super comfy and the shower was a large walk in shower. The pub downstairs is a quiet local country pub and we didn't suffer any noise issues that can come with pub B&B's. We will stay here again if they have availability! The landlord has some great tales to tell too. Ask him why he changed the name of the pub for a few days ;)

Felt like a local. From point of booking to saying goodbye, we were made to feel like valued regular local customers. We decided to eat here as a little break from our hotel - it got good reviews and was dog friendly (that was an understatement). Steeped in history in a quaint Yorkshire village, I felt like I was on the set of a TV show, about to walk into my local for a pint. Staff were attentive and friendly. This place saves the bells and whistles and instead offers excellent value, terrific portions, and outstanding taste. I felt like I had my dinner made by grandma! You can stay the night here and I can only imagine that you will end up in a family Whattsapp group afterwards, because honestly, you are made to feel so welcome. We reluctantly left after dinner, but legitimately could have stayed all night having a few drinks and swapping stories. Gorgeous vibes. Roaring fire. Kind souls.

Found this gem, browsing for a few days in Whitby. Fantastic room, the bathroom was huge (room 3). It had a sofa too with two TV's or argument TV's as Pete the landlord told us. The bed was really comfortable. We had a great time. The food was superb and a full breakfast every morning set us up for the day. Pete, his team, Nellie and Molly (the landladies, the resident dogs) were super friendly and welcoming. This is definitely our new place to stay when we come to Whitby. We were out all day coming back every evening to eat a fantastic meal. Variety in the menu but not over the top. Everything home made and piping hot. Will definitely recommend to family and friends. Thanks to everyone at The Witching Post Inn.

Stayed for a week in early January, of course it was cold, wet and windy but there were plenty of interesting places to visit for days out. It was good to get back to a roaring log fire, a hearty meal, a few drinks and up to our room for a comfortable night's sleep with a wide choice of excellent breakfasts in the morning. We took our dog and she was made extremely welcome. The staff were great and Pete, the Landlord, made us feel completely at home and went out of his way to ensure our stay was an experience not to forget. We sincerely recommend The Witching Post inn and this is where we'll stay when we are next in the area.

If you want a public house that is a bit quirky, a landlord that has a good sense of humour, good food and ale. …Look no further! Came across this gem whilst visiting Whitby …. The Witching post Inn, has it all. Old time charm, ample seating and good atmosphere, it also had interesting art on its toilet doors and it’s walls, even a table ! which I was told was created by a talented artist whom visited. “Uncle Dave” whom we met, was a great character, and had us laughing out loud. The food was of good quality, and promptly served. Old peculiar beer particularly recommended. A warm and welcoming place, and much better than the stuffy pub next door we also visited. Fully recommended …they also have accommodation ! Worth a look for sure! Will return, if the landlord allows us to. 🤣
