The Beach House by Reveal

We had the last 3 nights of our Sri Lanka adventure here including our 25th wedding anniversary - what a location and how well looked after we were. With just 6 rooms this place is fantastic. the room was beautiful and overlooked the pool and beach, the staff were friendly and so attentive. Each night there was a baby turtle release on the beach which everyone in residence was encouraged to join and take part in. Our dinner on the beach for our anniversary was superb - a stay and a night we will never forget.

Exceptional Service. Wonderful property. I really love to the staff , food, Rooms all are fantastic. Definitely we will back soon to this Wonderful hotel. We got a nice experience with baby turtles release its vary rare experience for us. Highly recommended 💯

This place is so comfortable. All clean,all food was delicious and all the staff so gentle and patient with us and all of our requests. Always with the smile and even so kind with our baby. Can’t wait to return here🫶🏽 Thank you thank you thank you.

We were the latest victims to have stayed at this nightmare of a Villa escaping the place yesterday with nothing but the worst memories. Our nightmare began on day one as we entered a baking hot living area with poor ventilation and a greenhouse like enclosure, with no fans running and staff not prepared to accept us at the door. We were introduced to the staff on duty much later who were not able to communicate a word of English who just kept smiling and grinning - possibly to welcome us to the horrors within. When we inquired on the Chef - we were told he would come by later during meal times to prepare our meals. Like any guest, our first attention drew to the pool - which we wanted to get in - soon as possible; however, the less than usual sized and debris collected from several days were floating on the surface. The Buffalos on the way had better mud pools than the ‘Reveal’ villa pool. We were also informed the sea in front is too rough for any swimming, Mirrissa beach proper was 3.5 km away, and not a walk along the beach. There was also neighboring illegal construction on the beach with x2 excavators digging deep into the sand - which affected the Lantern more than this beach house. Pool attended turned up 1 hour later and blamed all the debris has collected after he cleaned the damn thing before lunch - Hell of a story! We were given the option to go across to Lantern hotel pool. Even with the emerging horror, we continued to check-in and choose the rooms for our group of 9 guests. After climatizing ourselves to a Sahara Desert like living area, our friends turned up and checked into their room - to realize Wi-Fi does not reach their room. I double checked to see we were in a similar situation…. We had to beg ‘the butler’ several times to keep the fans running and sliding doors to the beach open to cool down the living area as they kept shutting the doors and turning the fans off. Which may be returning the villa to its regular state. At other villas along the coast - we would have been offered tea at tea time, but not at Reveal! Our butler offered us the set dinner menu which had a ‘Or’ missing for desert options; we were told everyone got everything for desert described x2 lines (see image) so there was no real option - we took x9 of those. 2 hours later, after everyone had dispersed, we were informed by the ‘butler’ that someone had omitted the ‘Or’ and combined the two lines. We noticed an odd ‘Or’ at the end of the mains on the menu - as if a dinner item has been omitted from the previous guests… The rooms were well decorated; however, the previous guests have run down the fittings - possibly drunk. Around 7pm the one and only ‘butler’ had to leave for dinner leaving us to take care of ourselves at this ‘lovely’ villa. [What??] A peak inside the kitchen area reveal [ed], there were no facilities to prepare food at the premises [Shock Horror] Not looking forward to Tuk Tuk (Uber) delivered food from the Lantern (HQ), we

When we decided to go to Mirissa, I did some research on the top beach houses and villas and most of the blogs and articles featured Lantern as the best followed by the Beach House in 2nd or 3rd position. Lantern was way over our budget so we decided to go with the Beach House. Absolutely gorgeous property, those spacious rooms, open air bathrooms, private pool and most importantly, waking up to the stunning view of the beach. The menu is limited so they offer food from the Lantern and it was amazing. Be it the local cuisine or the cuisines that we tried. Special thanks to the staff who made our stay so memorable. Thank you so much Malit, Laksiri and Sampath! We went to Tangalle, Nuwara Eliya and Colombo after this and stayed at lovely properties but the Beach House by Reveal was undoubtedly our favourite and really hope we can come back and stay there again.

Beautiful spot with an amazing view of the beach. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. Staff are great but something is not working with the management side. Felt like the staff were not expecting us when we arrived. There is no check in desk which is a bit odd because we were not expecting to walk into what feels like the guest lounge and stand around while the guest who was relaxing there called the manager. Food all comes from the sister hotel up the road, have to wait for a beer for 20 min as it gets ordered and delivered by Tuk Tuk (just keep a few in the fridge). Sri Lankan breakfast has to be ordered the night before and if you don’t eat there in the evening you don’t get asked.. Can’t swim on the beach outside because of the currents (ok but would be nice to know before booking.. you can walk 10 min up the beach for safe swimming). Not enough umbrellas providing shade, cushions didn’t go out until 11:00 and we would put them out ourselves because we were sitting out by 07:00. Mixed feelings about the place .. would I go back.. probably 😊.. it is quiet and personal and on a quiet beach… and the staff really were nice.

We stayed at the beautiful Beach House for 2 night, the rooms were excellent and spacious, we had an amazing beach view and it was very quiet. All the staff were wonderful, very attentive and nothing was too much trouble for them. Breakfast was great, so much choice of delicious freshly cooked and local food. In the evening we ate at the Lantern Hotel by Reveal, which was a few meters away, along the beach. Amazing meal, again lots of choice, all freshly cooked and a perfect setting on the beach. The Reveal hotels support a turtle conservation, we had a very special opportunity to see turtles laying their eggs on the beach and were allowed to help release newly hatched turtles into the sea. Thank you to all the staff, the chef and Mahen for making our stay so special, we will definitely be back.

My daughter and I loved the beach house. We originally booked into the beach villas, which were very nice but we asked for a sea view upgrade and spent the remainder of our holiday in the beach house. Views are stunning and room was very clean with contemporary decor. Staff were all fantastic and went out of their way to help us, particularly Yohan, who was so friendly and kind. Food was good and the hotel is not far from Mirissa town, so you have the choice of eating in or dining in the town. We had a great stay, thank you

I came back at 1 AM to the hotel and the gate was closed with a lock with NO security or whatsoever, I tried to knock on the gate, call for help, call reception- non responded .. I had to jump over the gate!!! To enter the hotel that I’m staying at which claims to have 24/7 security. A hotel that you pay over $230 per night and you get either locked in our out, with possible of people jumping over the gate with nobody noticing!!! I’m attaching a photo for ma arm after jumping over the gate. The manager (Lakmal Fernando) promised to refund me 1 night out of the 2 nights we stayed and this never happened and he ignored my messages and calls!!!
