Pepper Trail

Pepper trail resort in wayanad is situated inside a plantation. It is very calm and quiet resort and is very close to nature. We stayed in tree resort and Mackenzie suite. Both were nice and gave us different experience. Food is ans ther great thing here it is fresh, homely and tasty.

Extreme beautifull property, with perfect accomodation, very nice staff and an excellent cook. We had the privilege to stay one night in the treehouse and one night in the formal plantage-owners house. Both were very luxurious, comfortabel and tastefull. And both were very special: you will not find something like it very easily. And don’t forget the infinity pool: gorgeous! So we would have stayed for an other week, if we had not already booked the rest of our trip.

An amazing holiday stay. Accommodation in a range of beautiful buildings, roomy and clean. All staff were excellent, efecient, friendly snd polite. Food was really good and well priced. Jeep tour of the estate gave a good orientation so we were confident to wander through the plantation on our own and then relax and swim in the lovely infinity pool.

There was something for all of us - my husband and I were in the treehouse while my parents were in the plantation villa. All of us loved it! The food is simple and delicious, the trails are lovely, the naturalist Kishore as well as the other staff are congenial and very good at their work. We cycled around, swam, walked and talked a lot. Its one of those rare places where everything has been done perfectly - the aesthetics, the service, the activities - and with warmth and generosity! Its a wonderful little treasure.

Pepper Trail is a wonderful property. After excellent reviews from friends, my expectations were very high - and were then exceeded. I stayed in a Plantation Villa - so beautiful and with so much space and a lovely veranda looking over the jungle. All the staff were fantastic - friendly, efficient and knowledgeable. I enjoyed all the available activities (even the tea tasting and I don't drink tea!) and the infinity swimming pool is lovely. The estate is extensive with great views at every turn. The meals were excellent and the overall ambience delightful. Thank you, Pepper Trail, for wonderful stay. I hope to return!

A truly wonderful, peaceful place (‘with the occasional call to prayer in the background). We were extremely pleased we decided to plan the diversion on our trip to stay in one of the tree houses . We absolutely loved the peace , tranquility and the pitter patter of monkey feet on the roof waking us in the morning ! The naturalist , Kishin spoke brilliant English and was extremely knowledgeable , we really enjoyed the Jeep ‘safari’ and bird watching . The staff were very keen to please my ‘not so spicey’ English palate and everything was delicious. A really amazing experience that will never be forgotten. This is where ‘relaxation mode’ really kicked in !

We spent two nights in the Pepper Trail as part of our trip to Kerala. We stayed in the McKenzie Suite in the old house which was absolutely stunning. Our veranda was surrounded by trees, where monkeys would come and entertain us during the afternoon. We had an enjoyable tour of the plantation by our knowledgeable and experienced guide, ***athri who explained so much to us about the tea , coffee and pepper processes, and pointed out some beautiful wildlife ***** the way. The only slight disappointment was the quality of the food.

Pepper Trail, Wayanad, Kerala Stay 18th to 22nd December 2024 We stayed in one Pool Villa and the other was regular (non-pool) Villa… Good : Lovely property, and good clean and spacious villa’s. Good Toiletries… Coffee Souffle was brilliant. Coffee estate tour was excellent and not to be missed… Mr. Kishore Kumar who took us on the tour was brilliant and super enthusiastic in showing us the vast property. The chef did make up brilliant food (limited option though) what we requested being out of menu (otherwise they primarily offer authentic Kerala cuisine). Feel free to ask them to make you your choice of food, and if its possible, they do oblige without any hesitation. The ordered food (for lunch and dinner) was delivered to our room, without any extra charge. And the service was prompt and very timely. Very convienent. Decent wifi speed. Friendly staff. Air cons work well. Bad : Extremely low choice of food in breakfast for vegetarian guests. No DO NOT DISTURB or CLEAN MY ROOM signs in the room. No Room numbers mentioned outside the room. Seating outside of the room was pointless, because of the tall grass around the seating area. It was shabby and not maintained. Shower pressure was really poor. The pool in the villa was not temperature controlled. Though they said it is… Something must have been wrong with the heating system of the pool. They have only a 20 liter geyser per room… which means, if you wish to have a tub bath, you need to fill up about 20 liters of hot water, and then wait for 30 mins (by the time the water in the tub goes cold), and then pour in another set of 20 liters of hot water, and again wait… and the story continues… leaving you in no mood for a tub bath… Frequent power cuts keep tripping the wifi. Did not find any trouble with ants, though there were quite a few insects in the bathroom area. Quite expected because of the vegetation around, but ***ageable. No charges of food that we requested was informed prior to us. It was a bit of a shocker on seeing the bill at the time of check-out. Not expected. Dosa, Idli and Chutney needs serious improvement. No telephone in the room (but they were super prompt on messages being communicated on whatsapp) No pen and paper in any room. Request the ***agement to take the reviews on a positive note, and improve the property even better. Thanks to the Chef for taking care into our food. Also special mention to Mr. Yadu, Mr. Harry, Mr. Jobesh and Mr. Kishore Kumar.

Ideal retreat for couples who are looking for a quiet holiday. There is nothing you can find fault with in this resort. The check in and checkout was very smooth and professional. Harrison at the reception was very receptive and friendly. The restaurant has a lovely view of the coffee garden. It had set menu. A special word of praise for the very efficient staff - Jessy, Satish, Amal and Goutham in the restaurant. Even in the heaviest of rain they would provide food in our room with a smile. The jeep safari was ***aged by Sanil, who was very friendly. he took us around the coffee and tea plantations and the fishing pond. The Naturalists Venugopal and ***athri were very friendly and good. They took us around on a walking tour of the tea and coffee gardens and ended the day with tasting different types of tea.Our villa was very well furnished and had a huge balcony overlooking the forest.
