The Westin Washington, D.C. City Center

This hotel was surprisingly good! I'd read reviews saying it was a bit dated, and while it definitely isn't brand new, the decor felt a bit more upscale than other Westins I've stayed at. They have their own paid parking, which I think was around $60 a night, but we didn't use it. Instead, we found street parking right outside using an app, and it cost us less than $10 for the whole night – super cheap! It felt very safe and clean, and it's only about a 15-minute walk to the White House, which is incredibly convenient. Definitely worth staying here again!

When I booked through Trip.com, it said breakfast was $29 per person if purchased at the hotel front desk. However, the front desk told me to just buy it directly at the restaurant. For breakfast, all I had was an egg roll with vegetables and cheese, plus hash browns, and I was charged $46 (including a mandatory 18% gratuity). This was such a rip-off! I feel misled by Trip.com too! If I had known, I would have just eaten out somewhere else.
