Washington Hilton

The hotel's location is excellent, just a 12-minute walk to the Dupont Circle Metro station, and about 30 minutes on foot to the north entrance of the White House. This hotel is quite famous, with many significant events in American history, including some from this year, having taken place here. However, the room facilities are outdated. Perhaps it's just the room type I selected? The air conditioning is old-fashioned and very noisy when cooling. What was most unbearable was that there was no refrigerator in the room (I heard from others attending the conference that some rooms do have them). This forced me to use ice to keep my breakfast milk fresh. To make matters worse, the ice machine on my floor happened to be broken these past few days, so I had to carry an ice bucket to other floors to get ice. On the bright side, the hotel's gym and pool are great. The pool is outdoors, and even though it was very hot these days, the conference room AC was too cold, so swimming outside and soaking up some sun was quite refreshing. (Figure 1 shows the old-fashioned air conditioner in the room, which looks like something out of a movie. Figure 2 is the grand ballroom on the hotel's conference level, where many presidential press conferences have been held. Figure 3 is the Presidential Corridor, from which the president supposedly evacuated after the shooting.)

The Washington Hilton has a grand and upscale appearance, with a bright and spacious lobby. The restaurant is immaculate, with neatly arranged tables and chairs, and the breakfast is particularly abundant. Although it's American cuisine, there's a wide variety of high-quality options. The room was very comfortable, and it was a nice touch that the staff cleaned and tidied it every day. I personally wasn't a fan of the rather dark color scheme in the hallways on each floor. The shower pressure in the bathroom was fine, but the water flow for the sink was too weak. I'm not sure if other rooms have the same issue. It would be even better if this could be improved.

The room was very clean and the location was excellent. The lobby staff were all very friendly, and you could get free water. If you walk down the slope for about 5 minutes, there's a delicious Thai restaurant called Thai Chief Street Food, which is a bit like Chinese-style rice bowls. You can rent a Lime scooter and get to George Town in about 10 minutes. For bubble tea, I recommend the QQ Happy Family from Gong Cha in George Town (the jumbo size is perfect for two people, I suggest less ice and 30% sugar). For Chinese food, I recommend the Three Treasure Rice from CHINATOWN EXPRESS.

On my first day in Washington, I stayed at an Airbnb that was even more expensive than this hotel, and it was absolutely terrible. The next day, I switched to this Hilton, and it's so much safer and more comfortable to stay in a hotel. This hotel has a good restaurant, and their crab cakes are delicious. Parking is $65 per night.

Great location, good environment, and convenient for getting around. Highly recommended for a stay in Washington.

I arrived early to check in, and the front desk informed me that early check-in would incur a fee; complimentary check-in starts after 2 PM. Luggage storage costs $1 per suitcase. Many people mentioned the $25 daily credit, which can be used at Starbucks for breakfast. If you charge it to your room, the deduction will appear as a separate line item. Alternatively, you can pay on the spot, only paying Starbucks for the amount exceeding $25, and the hotel bill will still show the $25 credit, so there's no issue with double charging. The area around the hotel is under construction, and it's a bit of a walk to the subway station, but still manageable. Most of the time, you'll need to transfer subway lines to reach attractions, which is still quite convenient, and the price is relatively affordable.
