A great hotel with funky rooms, and very good facilities including a gym and pool. The bar is great with a number it sports screens and even a little cinema area, food is also served here. There is also a Starbucks with little cafe area. The staff can’t do enough for you and parking is free whilst staying the night at the hotel. A great find.

It's a standard hotel with Good hot shower, and a nice room temp control. If you need an iron box you can get it from the front desk.

A luxurious place to stay in the centre of Warrington. This place offers self check in with no reception but the system worked perfectly for access and felt very safe inside the building. The room/apartment style room was fantastic with luxury feeling and high end finishing. The kitchenette’s are a nice touch allowing guests to self cater with the minimum of having fridge, sink and utensils available with hob and microwave. Would highly recommend this place if you are needing to stay in Warrington. Just one note, room 7 which I had has a lovely brick wall as a view and has the heating/ventilation system hum outside the window.

I've stayed in other hotels previously when in Warrington for work and this time someone recommended staying here. It's a small hotel (only 15 rooms) I think, so it can get booked up quickly! The pictures on the website make it look very nice and relaxing, and I can confirm that the hotel does look like the website. The room was a good size and had everything you need for a short stay. Comfy bed, desk area with tea/coffee/biscuits. Nice bathroom with a powerful shower. Big TV (which was too 'smart' for me. You can stream from your phone, or watch YouTube , but I did struggle to watch actual 'normal' TV channels. Not an issue as I was only there for 1 night otherwise I would have asked someone for help) The window had a blind on it which blocked out every bit of possible light (much better than any other hotel room I've stayed in) However, there was a bit of light coming through under the main room door, and I noticed I could also hearing some coughing and other noises during the night. Room would be even better if they made the doors a bit tighter and they would then be soundproof. Continental breakfast is included or you can choose to pay £10 for a cooked breakfast. I just had a latte (which was very nice), Croissant (warm and fresh tasting!) and a bowl of fruit. Great that this is included in the room price. All the staff I spoke to were really friendly and pleasant, and it definitely feels more like a family run small hotel (which is much nicer than a big chain) Overall had a lovely one night stay at this hotel. It was cheaper than other hotels in the area but everything was better quality and nicer. Will definitely book here next time I need to stay over in Warrington.

Me, my partner and a few friends stayed here as the location was perfect for a party we were all attending in the evening... this place was lively and the owner was fantastic..even let us leave our cars on the drive when whe checked out so we could go say goodbye to our friends.. we missed breakfast but they made us some sausage sandwiches for our journey back... will definitely be staying here again! The only little thing would be the shower pressure but apart from that everything was great... thank you so much for our stay!!

Very impressive. The perfect family hotel for visiting Gullivers World in Warrington. It is literally across the car park from the theme park. We had a lovely room that was spacious, clean and tidy. The children had their own bunk beds each with their own TV and a curtain to segregate them from the rest of the room that made it seem like a den. They loved it!! When we arrived we paid for the breakfast for both mornings we were there. It was excellent value with a good selection of cereals, toast, fruit or a cooked breakfast. Even the coffee was decent, serving Kenco millicano from the machine. When the day was finished, the reception area turned into a sort of bar area, and one of the function rooms entertained the children with movies and games. We paid £158 for two nights for the family which I thought was excellent value for money. If I was visiting the Liverpool or Manchester area again I would definitely consider staying there again.

We Ate and Stopped in the Hotel at The Cat and Lion on Friday Night. The Staff we're Fantastic, From Booking in, to taking our Food Order and all throughout the Meal they Could not do Enough for you. And the Food was Exceptional. Then after a Great Night Sleep at the Hotel, In the Morning We Had a Real Hearty Breakfast , And Honestly The Full English was also a Full Plate. Which was Once Again Cooked to Perfection. And after reading the Upcoming Festive Menu, it's safe to say that not only have we Highly Recommended The Cat and Lion to Friends and Family But we will 100% be Coming Back Very Soon. 1st the rooms ate very clean, the hotel is spotless. Some issues. The hotel states its dog friendly, this is true, but it's not clear on their website that not all rooms are dog friendly, so the superior room we had booked was downgraded, and a £20 fee added as a charge for the dog. If you are dog friendly then make sure you fully reflect this in the website. Evening meal in the restaurant, the staff were very friendly and efficient. It would appear that the full online menu is not available in the restaurant , a cut down version. Ok. We were advised that the Thai Green Curry was not available. Ok. We ordered, soon afterwards, we were advised that the beer battered onion rings was also off the menu. Hmm, so every is not freshly cooked, but pulled out of the freezer. Even an average chef could manage to produce a batter and cook onion rings, not difficult . Right, the room, is fine, but no ability to regulate the heat, reduced opening on the windows, didn't help. Right, breakfast. We arrived at 8:40, the restaurant was fairly empty. We were taken to a table. The staff appeared to be totality uninterested. We went to the buffet bar, no eggs, asked and were advised they were cooked to order. So we ordered two poached eggs and two fried eggs. No. They can't do fried eggs, only poached or scrambled. That confirms that nothing is actually cooked. No eggs, are they being serious? The scrambled arrived it appear to be swimming in some liquid, not pleasant. Right the cold buffet bar looked poor, the yoghurt was empty. No white bread to toast. The staff were not bothered to ask if we wanted our coffee topping up. At precisely 9:00 AM the staff kicked into action and cleared the hot food. I asked when did they stop serving, they answered 9:30, but they cleared everything away at 9:00. Paying customers who turned up after 9 looked dismayed at the empty hot buffet. The uninterested stsff had to go and get the food from the kitchen .I've stayed in a large number of hotels ranging from guest houses to 5 star, but have never seen such poor attitude at breakfast, a failure to fry an egg. Needs looking at..
