The accommodation was very comfortable and there was hot water. I will consider staying there in the future. It's just that the location is remote and there's not much to eat, which is a bit troublesome if you're a foodie. There is a bus stop nearby.

There is so much to unpack here when it comes to Selina Birmingham. Never again am I staying at this hellhole of a hotel. For a name like Selina, the hotel sure is nightmarish to stay at. It's shameful that the hotel shares the same name with my non-biological/cosplay partner. There is no breakfast but at least, the bedding, the pillows and the duvet are comfy (but most likely due to the fact that I’m tired) and the wi-fi is decent. Unfortunately, this is where the compliments stop, especially when the dorm rooms are so dark, you have to turn on the flashlight on your phone in order to see. Not to mention, there is no television in the room I was staying in. To make matters worse, the dorm room is cold, coupled with no heating. I honestly don't mind the cold most of the time but the room temperature is too cold for my liking. Speaking of the ground floor, the Korean receptionist told me that I'm not allowed to eat my food at a table at the cafe and told me to climb the stairs all the way to the third floor in order to eat my food. It isn't fair, considering the receptionist with the short, dark hair tends to allow me to eat my food at a table at the cafe during the very early hours of the morning. I eventually lost my patience and yelled at the Korean receptionist. It's rare when I lose my patience. I threatened in a growly voice with, ”I suggest you fill the pot noodle to the top with water unless you want a scathing, negative review to be blasted on the radio for everyone to hear?”. Finally, she got the memo. The rooms, bathrooms and toilets and facilities are unsanitary (for example, there are biscuit crumbs all over the bed sheets. I didn't know until I got out of bed), the entire hotel itself is not accessibility-friendly as if the lack of a lift and the staff not being accommodating towards disabled people such as myself isn’t of any indication, the kitchen and the kitchen equipment on the third floor are dirty, there is no hot water in some of the bathrooms within the dorm rooms, the bathrooms and the dorm rooms are shared (therefore, there is no privacy), the lights keep turning themselves off if you’re idle (I’m more used to turning on and off the lights on my own accord), you need to pay £10 for a padlock which is complicated for disabled people and the list goes on. The toilets, bathrooms, kitchen etc are just as dirty as Badea Faulkner and Olive Allison Brown from the Avanzar House in Middleton, Manchester not cleaning up after themselves. And don’t get me started on the staff being problematic. They aren’t very useful to the point where I had to shout at them due to their language barriers and them not listening to me, let alone understanding me. This is troubling for autistic people like me. Never in all my years have I encountered such frustrating hotel staff members. Compared to the other hotels I've stayed at in the past, the hotel staff in these hotels were never infuriating. If a lack of staff doesn’t tell you the appalling

Good location near station and shopping mall but a bit messy. The rooms are large and there are plenty of milk tea bags. There will be no other facilities. The breakfast at the hotel is buffet style and tastes average.

First time staying in this hotel so was unsure what to think however the room is so comfortable and clean. Neli, the member of staff at the front desk, was so helpful and checked us in quickly and answered all the questions we had. It was nice to be greeted with a smile when checking in. The rooms are on the small side but the layout worked very well and makes the most of the space. The bathroom is clean and provides shampoo, body wash etc for people who are travelling light. Luckily the rooms have air conditioning which is perfect for these hot summer nights. Definitely recommend, amazing deal for the price!

I stayed here during my 2023 John O'Groats to Lands End ride, when I was accompanied by my wife and 13 year old son, who were acting as support crew. The Oak Farm Hotel is a relatively large wedding venue just off the main road. It is very accessible from the M6 with a spacious and sprawling car park. We shared an ensuite family room with double and single bed. The bathroom was large and a little dated – unless you like the 90s vibe - with bath, shower and very noisy extractor fan which sounded like the room was about to take off. The staff were very friendly and helpful. A traditional breakfast buffet is available in the bistro with a self-service cooked breakfast and only a few healthier options. Due to the family aspect of this hotel, we found the dining room - and indeed our stay - to be a little noisy with young children enjoying their adventure away. Bistro was closed in the evening when we stayed so we cannot comment on dinner. However, the menu looked appetising. We found a McDonalds and other fast food or family friendly outlets within easy driving distance of the hotel. The bike stored was locked away in the board room just off the reception area at the front so it was easily accessible in the morning. A remote controlled gate secures access to the venue.

Very Good
GGuest UserWhat a fabulous experience at this Holiday Inn Express! From the moment we entered we were welcomed with cheery staff who were always smiling and only too happy to help. The Hotel is very clean! Obviously the carpet will have some marks but you can see that they have gone to great lengths to try and remove these. Our room was so clean. The bed linen was pure white and the towels were almost new and very clean and fluffy. (The only downside are the room doors) As the rooms all have to have fire doors it is a little stressful every time a door has to be slammed shut! Be it morning, noon or night there is no option but to slam the door as it doesn't lock otherwise (Room 131 which I did report) Breakfast was all you would need and different options to accommodate everyone. I am Coeliac and was given GF cereal and GF bread toasted separately in the kitchen and covered in cling film to bring to the table obviously reducing the cross contamination issue. What a great relief! My only criticism would be how long it takes to order food through the day, this takes a while and reduces the availability of staff to serve from the bar, but not a biggie. Would definitely recommend this place and highly commend the staff for such wonderful Customer Service obviously guided by good Management.
GGuest UserFor £120 myself and partner stayed in a very comfort and clean room on a Saturday night. Included in the package as a village member (membership free) was a £50 food voucher, gym and pool access, breakfast and large TV in room with SKY sports. The food was excellent and couldn't squeeze a dessert in the portions were that generous. The bar and staff had a fantastic atmosphere and we didn't feel any need to venture out of the hotel in the evening.
GGuest UserIt’s not that bad, I definitely think some of the other reviews are harsh. If I could give a 3.5 I would. As it’s definitely better than average but not quite as good as very good. Stayed for one night and yes it does look a bit tired. It just needs a little refurbishment. But the room was decent the bed reasonably comfortable and cleanliness well a little more attention and it would be perfect. The breakfast was ok not the best but certainly not the worst. The only thing watch the yoghurts as they were 2 days out of date. But yes to sum up one night maybe two a fine stay any longer then yes maybe look elsewhere.
GGuest UserMy husband is disabled and when asked if he had any special requirements, when booking, he said he was disabled. So they accepted the booking and took the money (for 2 nights) On arrival we given a 2nd floor room which was fine until we were told the lift wasn't working. My poor husband had to literally drag himself up 2 floors and I had to drag the luggage (we have a lot because of my husband's disabilities) I am very grateful to the young men who helped me when I almost fell backwards down the stairs and they took the luggage for us but there was no offer of help from staff! When I asked if there was a ground floor room I was told no. I asked how long the lift had been out of order and I was told ”For a long time.” When I said they shouldn't have taken our money knowing about my husband and the lift the receptionist said there would be a room on the ground floor today (the 2nd day) but not until 12 o'clock. We will be out but we will see what happens when we get back later today. The 1 star rating is for the clean room. Nowhere for breakfast, they've stopped that!!! 😤
