I stayed in Wakayama for the first time. There were few restaurants around the east exit of JR Wakayama Station where the hotel is located, but there was no problem because I could go to the west exit through the connecting passage. There was a convenience store nearby, and buses to Kansai International Airport were also arriving and departing from the bus terminal at the JR East Exit. The hotel room was based on black and I was able to sleep slowly.

We booked 3-bed room. The room was big to accommodate 3 people. The staff who could speak Chinese was nice and helpful. The hotel had e-bike to rent for only JPY800 a day which was wonderful. Breakfast was excellent. However, the 8/F corridor had strong smoking smell.

Simple hotel but super convenient, close to JR train station and there are many eateries nearby. The hotel even includes a complimentary buffet breakfast, nothing fancy but just a nice touch to start your day. Room is proper and clean. Note that the train station nearby is JR Wakayama station and not Wakayama-shi (Wakayama city) station on the private train line. I made a mistake myself and had to get here by another train ride. This is a very pleasant town. If you have time, take the JR line to Kishi station (貴志駅) to see its famous cat manager Tama.

I chose it because there is a large hot spring bath. It is close to Wakayama Station and there is a station behind the hotel, so it is convenient because you can enter and exit even in the early morning. Above all, it was good to be able to heal the fatigue in the hot spring. It was small and there were few washrooms, but there were no other users and I was able to relax in a state of occupying one person. The room was clean and even in the double room, there was a space to spread the luggage, so I was able to spend a comfortable time. I would like to use it again if I have the opportunity.

Close to JR Wakayama station, whilst not on the most exciting side, there's still plenty of food options for dinner. The hotel is what you would expect from the Toyoko Inn chain if you've ever stayed with them before: efficient check in, good service, small but clean and comfortable rooms. Breakfast is the usual basic Japanese fare with toast as a Western option, with limited seating. They strangely seemed to be lacking knives, so other hotel guests as well as myself were using forks, spoons and chopsticks to try and spread the jam on the toast! A well priced hotel which gives me the basics I need for a good night's rest.

I made a reservation on weekdays and the day, but I was offered a double booking and a larger room I booked instead. Free food such as frozen pizza and rice balls was also available at the front desk, and I was able to spend comfortably for the price. The surrounding environment may not be good for your child. Directly connected to Wakayama Station. Because it was in front of the station, there was a CVS and so on. It was on the upper floor of ”Kino Wakayama” in the station building and dinner was done there. The building was clean and the bath was very comfortable with a view of the Kino River. There was also a menu with breakfast and it was delicious. However, it was a few dissatisfaction points that made the evaluation ”normal”. It is mainly a part of hospitality, not hard. First of all, I was guided to breakfast at check-in. Because it was a Bon Festival time, there was a paste that the breakfast time was early in the elevator, but it was guided at the front desk at the usual time. Under the corona, the locker of the bath was pulled out, but when the locker without the key was opened and asked the front desk whether it was possible to use it, it was answered that it did not get the point. When I used it for family ３ people and asked the front desk for breakfast tickets without a number of people and confirmed that it was okay and went to the breakfast venue, I was told that ”the breakfast ticket is not enough １ pieces”. I thought that the front desk was on the upper floor and it was surprising to go up to the upper floor once when I checked out. As a concept of the whole Candeo Hotels, it is called ”unique ４ stars”, but it has somehow lacking impression that it does not become ５ stars. It seems that there is a chain hotel nationwide, but what about ... It is a hotel that does not come to the top of the choice.
