Waiheke Island Motel

We just had an unexpectedly delightful experience at the Waiheke Island Motel, so much so that we added another night because we simply couldn't get enough of the place! Our stay began with a minor hitch: arriving late in the evening to find our pre-booked studio room was locked. However, the way the night manager and the team handled this was truly remarkable. They quickly resolved the issue by giving us a significant, stress-free upgrade to a spacious whole house with four bedrooms instead of our original studio. This immediate, generous response demonstrated exceptional hospitality and turned a potential frustration into the highlight of our trip. The motel's location is ideal; it offers a wonderfully quiet and peaceful atmosphere, yet it's in very close proximity to both the shops and the beach. We appreciated the on-site pool and the spa options, and the minute's walk down to the community Saturday market was a fantastic bonus. Our only piece of constructive feedback relates to the spa itself—unfortunately, the cleanliness was not up to standard, which was a slight disappointment. Despite the minor issue with the spa, the exceptional service, comfortable accommodation, and prime location mean we had a fantastic trip. Crucially, the price was quite reasonably priced compared to other places on Waiheke, offering excellent value for money. We will definitely return to Waiheke Island Motel!

We wanted to cancel the booking because our travel plans had changed, but missed the free cancellation period by about 6 hours. Though the date of our stay was very busy (all other places booked) and the motel could have easily and for an even higher price resell our room, they did not react to the Trip.com request, though I had provided an explanation and tried it a second time. NO AVAILABILITY, neither through the system nor by phone. For me, this is really bad service - not recommendable. Everything else was okay / good. (We rescheduled again and used what we had paid for.)

Excellent service! Accommodation was way better than i expected. Hair conditioner was good.

The location is very good, you can walk to the stores nearby, centralized to travel to all wineries and beaches. Room are clean, good view into the valley, clean supplements with free small milk.

I like the environment

Very convenient, easy to find, close to bus routes, generally quiet, clean and comfortable. Staff friendly and accommodating for a very late arrival and ability o leave a little later too. Not fancy, but did the trick.

Not a good experience here, it was dirty, the blinds were dusty, a large spiderweb with resident spider was found just inches above my pillow, the carpet was stained and felt damp and dirty, the shower was broken and off it's tracks and couldnt be shut so had to shower with door open, windows were filthy with big spiderwebs and the 'view' which was shown as looking out to the beach was in fact just straight into bushes and trees, the pool and spa that sounded so inviting was actually a disgusting unhealthy green with leaves and dirt on the top.
