Shoreside Inn & Suites

Bedding was not cleabed properly. Has to ask for new sheets and blankets. Place has gonw downhill since new owners.

We just stayed last Saturday night as we had a Christmas party Saturday night and another event Sunday afternoon so this was better than driving back and forth to the city. It should be noted we are very familiar with Wab as we have a seasonal RV lot and boat slip down at the marina and tv park in town, but is not accessible during winter., so we decided this would be a good option. Second floor room 217. Double bed, fairly clean, old school motel smell we laughed about. Microwave and fridge were handy. Place is definitely showing its age but was clean enough and suited our needs for one night. There is apparently a continental breakfast but we didn’t try it (went to Jingles around the corner for breakfast, pretty good also). Apparently there is also a suite type room and looking back prob should have spent the extra lol. Staff were friendly and helpful. Easy to recommend for a night or two and convenient location in town. Could see us staying again for this type of situation though not in summer as we have our own place lol.

We stayed for the location. This place is just off the Lake, its clean and comfortable. It has a nice little kitchenette and the breakfast room was very nice and the owner allowed me to use it for a business interview. It was much appreciated. The staff (Shannon) was remarkable and helpful with all of our needs.

There aren’t many places to stay in this village, but I think there needs to be a few improvements. In every room, there’s a binder with lots of information about the hotel and places around and things to do. What I was annoyed about is how inaccurate the info was… “check out time is 12:00pm. Late checkouts may be arranged through the front desk.” As we’re getting ready to leave around 11:30am we get a knock on our window saying we had to check out, because checkouts at 11am. The book also mentioned a continental breakfast from 7am-10am. But when you go to the breakfast room it’s 7:30am-9:30am. And there’s a very limited selection. All I’m saying is, you can’t have one thing literally in writing and then come banging at my room saying something else. And when we did try checking out, the guy was no where to be found, no one was in the office, no sign saying all be back at whatever time. There are also little spiders in the room and even on the pillows when you crawl into bed at night. It is noisy, not only is there a train close by, but you can hear people having conversations in the parking lot or anyone that just walks passed your room.

We booked this hotel simply because it was the only option for the area. The gentleman that worked there was friendly and asked that we come see him if we needed anything. That was great, however the smell of the room was unbearable. I’m not sure if it was mold, filth or what, but we could smell it before we even had the door fully open. We didn’t have the heart to tell the nice gentleman how terrible it was and simply turned around and left without refund. Perhaps not all the rooms had this odour, but our experience was not pleasant. Thankfully, our friends were able to accommodate us for our stay.

We had a trip in August. The two rooms on the second floor were in poor condition and with unpleasant odors. As there were no other rooms, we had to leave. We cannot get our refund from ******* as this hotel refused to issue a refund.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay. The room was clean, staff friendly, grounds are clean and the town is cute. As negative as this review might sound, it's more of a fyi. We would stay again. What they don't tell you is that they are next to (well the whole town is) the railway and at nighttime it is very busy. We had our window open for air and for the most part it wasn't too bad. The rooms were clean but very dated and the fridge was horribly loud during the night. We were a door or two down from the hospitality suite. Horrible location if you want quiet. Yes our window was open but this room was by the stairs and hospitality door and you heard EVERYONE walking by. Forget trying to sleep in. It's like being next to the room by the elevator after the bar closes. The hospitality room in not handicapped accessible. You have to climb two flights of stairs to get to it. You also don't get any housekeeping while you are there. We stayed 3 nights and not once did anyone come in. Personally, we don't usually have housekeeping but for others this might be a big deal.

Only thing was stains on chairs, rugs.. due to it being old furniture… beds were coming but nosey which means old too… breakfast is basic waffles, cereal and oatmeal… just needs updates other then that the women that is there 24/7 is amazing and I would highly consider using this hotel again.
