This hotel was one of our highlight stays on our 1-month trip to Europe. Such a unique and fun experience. It is so much fun just exploring the castle, including the interior and exterior, with lots of photo opportunities. I liked the important touches like decorative deer skulls, little gargoyles on the exterior, medieval pillory, etc. Take your time to explore! We were interested in using their amenities, but there were too many screaming children. They even have a little gift shop at front desk, where I got myself a red cross knight figurine. The stay included a breakfast buffet, which was great. If you don't want to eat dinner there, go down the hill to the little town. We ate at Motorest na Rožku (address: Zvolenská 576, 962 02 Vígľaš, Slovakia), and it was a great way to eat like/with the locals! This was probably the cheapest restaurant experience we had during our European trip, and we enjoyed it. With the The Grand Viglas, I wish I had known about the Dracula room, which you can book.
