Residenza Hotel San Maurizio

The room was super clean and the bed, sheets, pillows, bathroom super comfortable! The owners received us with their home made limoncello! The colazione exquisite made with their own products! Really nice and kind people! We really enjoyed our stay. Thbaks for everything!!

The rooms are horrible. Dark and covered in mould. I PROMISE you. The actual rooms are NOTHING like what you see advertised. A disgrace. Scam. We left after a night as all we could smell was damp. Go elsewhere much better for the same price. Rude rude staff

Fantastic location within walking distance of San Marco and the Grand Canal. Staff were helpful when available but reception was only open for limited hours during the day. Our room was beautifully decorated in the Venitian style with fabric covered walls. Up 2 flights of stairs which helped with our fitness but was a struggle with luggage. Unfortunately our room opened directly onto the breakfast room. Not ideal for a couples holiday but as breakfast wasn’t available there were no awkward moments!

The hotel is just 5 minutes walk from Piazza San Marko and even less from S. Maria del Giglio waterbus stop. This is very good because walking with luggage in Venice is complicated. Water bus can be used to go to railway station. In the hotel guests can feel themselves like a real Venetian because of interior and building itself. Lady on the reception is very friendly and helpful. There is no toilet in the lobby. But anyway the hotel is a good choice to stay in Venice.

Room was NOTHING like the one we booked on the website. When we complained they couldn't have been less interested. Be aware you wont get a room anything like the one you booked according to photos Misleading. Woke up itchy with bites. Bed bugs. Dark. Damp and depressing. With the most unfriendly staff ever. Please stay elsewhere. Venice has many lovely hotels. This place is horrible.

Property location is definitely a plus, close to all sites. Hotel itself comfortable/attractive/safe. All-round great value.

We chose this hotel for central position, really well placed for vaparetto stations, guglio and academia (across foot bridge) on grande canal. Nearby eateries,le cafe in campo st stefano, very good breakfast and evening.but there are lots to choose from. About 15 min to st mark's a comfortable and easy walk. We checked ahead with hotel regarding early or late check in as we were arriving by train from puglia. Very helpful and accomodating. Reception not manned all tbe time but on arrival and when we needed guidance, very helpful. Rooms are clean pretty, however a little dated and we were on second floor with no lift. Note : our room opened directly onto the breakast room. No food was being offered during our stay which we were aware of. However as a couple in holiday this could have raised some awkward moments. Overall happy with our stay as it was a great position.

I would not recommend staying at this hotel. I was really looking forward to a trip here in April 2020 and I paid the hotel in full for my stay. I was then unable to travel due to the pandemic. I eventually got in touch with the hotel after many attempts. They finally agreed to honour my booking and I reserved a room for December 2021, at this time the travel industry had opened up and I was able to book flights from the UK. Unfortunately, I developed Covid-19 and had to isolate, so was unable to travel. I contacted the hotel via email to inform them a week in advance and to attempt to rebook, this email was sent in December 2021. I received no response from the hotel and have tried on many occasions since, with still no response. The hotel still have my money and I am unable to book a trip elsewhere until I am refunded. Very disappointing service and this has ruined what would have been an amazing experience in a beautiful city.
