Hotels near Central Bank of Malta Currency Museum, Valletta

Because of some accidents, I stayed alone in Madao~ Because the Marriott booking was full, I chose this hotel in the center of Valletta~ The hotel request is 3 o'clock check in, because I arrived early at 1 pm to let me stay~ The reception brother is very nice~ During my waiting period I also gave me a cup of coffee, and then I was very gentleman to send me and my luggage to the room~ The next day's flight was at 7 pm, I asked if I could delay the check-out time, and the reception staff was very happy to help me delay 2 hours~ The room was clean and tidy, Toiletries are provided by Balmain~ The room is cleaned very diligently and very safe, and there is no loss of items~ In addition to the breakfast is really a bit lacklustre, other perfect~

A very modern studio type apartment equipped with all amenities including a washer-dryer. Very clean and spacious. There is a restaurant with delicious food. The host is very friendly.

This hotel is part of the Accor Group and was a perfect location outside Valletta in the area of Msida. I arranged a transfer to and from the airport to the hotel that dropped and picked me on the corner where the hotel is located. I was welcomed by Laura at reception and offered a welcome drink as a Gold Accor member. I was also introduced to the manager also named Laura and given an overview of the hotel facilities and a map detailing the Malta area. After receiving my studio room key and entering the room it was very large and had a view out to the front street area from the balcony that had a table and two chairs. The room has a large kitchenette area with crockery , cutlery, glasses, saucepans and other cooking utensils. Two electric hot plates and a microwave oven and a small bar fridge with large complimentary bottles of sparkling and still water. Tea and coffee making facilities also in the kitchenette along with a sink for washing dishes and tea towel for drying. Another bench area below the television with two bar stools. Good size television on the wall and plenty of power points including USB charging throughout the room. A separate part of the main room had a two seater lounge and coffee table. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The bathroom was large with a good shower and plenty of space around the bathroom sink to place items. Shaving mirror and power points. The towels were nice and fluffy and new and there was always plenty of hot water. A laundry room with two coin operated washers and two dryers is on site to do your own laundry if required. There is also a good gym on site. The rooftop pool has views over the surrounding areas and would be good for swimming or relaxing around in spring and summer. Breakfast is also available at the hotel but I did not avail of this. I did have dinner one evening at the recently re-opened bistro 77 (B77) restaurant on site and the meal and service was exceptional. The hotel is within walking distance of the marina area and for good walkers the old city area of Vallettta is about an hour walk away. A bus stop is located just around the corner further up the street that I utilised to go to Valletta one day and then continued on a connecting bus to Medina/Rabat. This hotel is exceptional in both service and facilities and if you don’t want to be right in Valletta but close enough by taxi/bus then this is definitely a good choice.

After much deliberation for location and hotel for our stay in Malta we chose 'The Regency Plaza, Sliema*' and after a fantastic week here we know that we chose well. Very happy with the hotel from the reception - happy to help with anything and everything, baggage storage (until our room was ready), our room, the bed, the view, the pool (outdoor one is blooming cold but who cares!), the breakfast choice to most importantly, location! It's important to know that *Sliema is massive and where the ferries go from. This hotel is quite a distance from there (although easily walkable) and is actually situated in Exiles Bay (Bus stop is actually Antik - right outside the hotel) a much quieter and prettier area. We were put on the 5th floor and were so glad as the views were superb and also the outside noise isn't as intense, but the sliding door to the balcony is very effective at cutting out the noise anyway. I loved to sit and watch the world go by early morning and evening - people jogging, walking, taking dogs for a walk or the may electric scooters whizzing by. We had no trouble sleeping nor did we hear any other noise (like music or road traffic etc). There are a couple of nice bars/restaurants opposite the hotel and directly out of the hotel entrances (yes, there are two receptions and entrances) is a pizza place (which you walk through to get in) and a Costa Coffee shop. Our room was a reasonable size and had all the amenities we needed - safe, hairdryer, plenty storage, a nice shower (but you do have to pay extra for coffee making facilities) but the toilet took forever to re-fill after a flush - a tad annoying but nothing I'd really moan about. The shower had some marks on the grouting but overall the room was very clean and the maids came everyday. Bed was comfortable and blackout curtains ensured a good nights sleep. Breakfast was a very, very typical European hotel offering. Cooked sausages, bacon, eggs, beans, tomatoes etc. Plenty choice of break, fruit, meats and cheese. Lovely fresh cooked warm croissants with a choice of jams, chocolate sauce and more. Coffee and juice via machines and waitresses very efficently cleaning up after you as soon as you are done, so no clutter of plates on tables etc. As mention, the top floor swimming pool was excellent but really cold. We found this both bracing and refreshing on the warmer days, plenty of sunloungers, a pool bar and mutliple level seating (as there are two sides to the hotel, you can cross over). We got a 7 day bus travel card for €21 each and we used them to death as it is so simple to get anywhere on the island by bus. They are clean, frequent and convenient. The bus stops are right outside the hotel for either direction. They can get full during 'rush hours' but that's always part of the charm of travel by bus we find! The location of the hotel we found was perfect, not only for bus/ferry travel but for bars and restaurants and even swimming. There is a wide pedestrian boulevard that

Perfect location. Clean room. Great service. Good view. But.... I visited in March when it was very cold. No heating and the sliding door had many gaps where the wind whistled in so my two nights were very cold and no additional blankets.

The hotel has a perfect location. I will come back ,I loved it. However improvements are needed: Breakfast:Fruit juices are terribly diluted to make things worse served on 10Cl glasses. Better pastries would be welcome. Room needed repairs broken floortiles. Elevators have seen better days. A 4 E coke at the pool is rather extensive. But still I loved the hotel.

Starting with the information - we stayed at So City as a young couple (who arent particularly into nightclubs/bars) to see Matla for the first time over a week. I have given this a 'benefit-of-the-doubt' rating due to the hotel being incredibly new. We picked So City Hotel because of the value, it was incredibly well priced. I'd imagine this is a strategy due to it being so new but it was certainly well worth the price we paid. On to the hotel as a whole - I feel this is definitely aimed toward capturing people coming to Malta for some night life. Its positioned so that no more than 10 seconds from leaving the lobby, you can be in a bar, and their are some nice bars surrounding. That said, we werent there for that - but this location also meant that finding an evening meal, or a quick early night drink was incredibly easy. Exploring the island was also very easy from here, Valletta was a very short journey, and as we had opted to rent a car, there was a carpark about 5 minutes walk away (Pengardens) which is reasonably priced for over night parking, and we never struggled for a space. The room was very comfortable, and the mattress was perfect and bedding very soft and comfortable. Our upgraded room was also incredibly spacious. The theming is a nice touch and makes the room a bit more characterful and individual. Staying on the 7th floor, there was minimal noise at night, altough id be concerned if we needed to keep the window open.... The black out curtains were also amazing for keep the room dark for a little bit of extra sleep. Constructive criticism for the room would be: The shower tempurture is difficult - the hottest setting is insanely hot (my other half loves hot showers but this was too much for her also) and it wouldnt go cold, just cooler, it also seemed to get colder through out the shower and you found yourself adjusting. There is not a lot of storage at all for longer stays. This is perhaps a by product of it feeling aimed towards 'nightlifers' who might stop 3 nights or so. I would perhaps ask reception for additional hangers if you have plenty of clothes for a longer stay. The mini fridge, altough useful, is not big enough to put larger water bottles in, which can be annoying. The aircon unit is situated in a place which means it blows directly at the bed. I tried to play with the control but there was no way to adjust it that I could find. Im trying to cool the room, not refridgerate myself. The timer on the aircon also didnt seem to work, so setting it the blow for 30 mins whilst i went to sleep just didnt seem to work. The TV is not a full smartTV which is a shame. Just channels and an internet browser, which are never nice to navigate around.... On to other notes: Breakfast is just what you need. Its not an all out buffett where there is everything you could dream of, but there is more than enough and a few items cycle so you can expect a slightly different breakfast each morning. The rooms were nice. The outside pool is not open, but the inside pool and sauna are open, but the buildings are far apart, so you have to go outside and walk, which is very inconvenient (thinking about having to walk a bit after washing up... I also gave up on swimming). Other than the fact that the swimming pool and breakfast area were far away, I was satisfied.

My husband and I returned yesterday from room 218 at BWP in Malta. The staff here are a real asset to this hotel, all of the staff but in particular Deepak, Regi and Sofi in the dining room on level 9 - attentive, friendly and super professional ! They were a joy to meet and were one of our many highlights at this hotel. The food was exceptional on the half board a la carte menu with a change in menu every day. Breakfast was plentiful with everything you could want. The hotel has its own pastry chef - enough said !! The hotel is spotlessly clean as is the rooftop pool and bar, this is a lovely area to relax with plenty sunbeds and large umbrellas for cover if needed. We didnt eat at the pool bar but all of the meals which we saw being delivered looked and smelled excellent too. Any request made to Reception is dealt with immediately and nothing is too much trouble for anyone here. Thank you so much BWP, Malta we will definitely return and in fact we are considering another lovely week in the sun here in November.
