Hotels in Val de Reuil Reviews

This was our first visit to this establishment, and we were pleasantly surprised! As senior citizens on very modest pensions, we have become quite expert on the topic of 'budget' hotels. Kyriad Direct in Val de Reuil was definitely the best that we have ever experienced. We booked through Booking.com and our room cost no more than any of the ”shared facilities” budget hotels (Lemon, F1, etc.). For our €31 (plus local tax) we had a secure gated car park; a pleasant welcome from the young lady at Reception; and a room that was larger than any of the other budget hotels in which we have stayed. The facilities were above ave. with a good shower; a toilet with a proper seat; a dispenser with shampoo/shower gel; a razor socket; plenty of standard electric sockets; and individual bed-lights. The bed was a good size. There was the usual TV and, in addition, a telephone to contact Reception; arrange an alarm call; and make outside calls. Undoubtedly, there would be an extra charge, at least for the latter, but the facility was there! The rooms were not in a corridor. Rather, they were in groups of four on the ground, or on the first floor. This had the obvious advantage of limiting the external noise. Breakfast was the usual buffet style affair. However, this was the best selection that we have seen for such a price (€6pp). There is a wide variety of eating establishments within a couple of minute's walk. Beware! There is also a Kyriad Hotel nearby, but it will cost you a lot more!

The hotel room environment is a bit old, and there is nothing around except 2 barbecue halls. But the breakfast is very rich, the waiters are also super beautiful, a high service attitude, the old gentleman who watched the night is very enthusiastic

This was our first visit to this establishment, and we were pleasantly surprised! As a couple of senior citizens on very modest pensions, we have become quite expert on the topic of 'budget' hotels. Kyriad Direct in Val de Reuil was definitely the best that we have ever experienced. We booked through Booking.com and our room cost no more than any of the ”shared facilities” budget hotels (Lemon, F1, etc.) that we have used in the past. For our €31 (plus local tax) we had a secure gated car park; a pleasant welcome from the young lady at Reception (even although she spoke no English); and a room that was larger than any of the other budget hotels in which we have stayed. One couldn't have held a ceilidh - but we certainly didn't bump into one another! The facilities were above average with a good shower (do be careful - the hot water was almost hot enough to brew a cuppa!); a toilet with a proper seat; a dispenser with shampoo/shower gel; a proper razor socket; plenty of standard electrical sockets; individual bed-lights that were bright enough for their purpose, yet so focused that one person could sleep while the other continued to read. The bed was a full double - and might even have been a little larger. There was the usual TV set but, in addition, there was a telephone for contacting Reception; arranging an alarm call; and making outside calls. Undoubtedly, there would be an extra charge, at least for the latter, but the facility was there! Unlike any other hotel that we have used, the rooms were not in a corridor. Rather, they were in groups of four on the ground, or on the first floor. This had the obvious advantage of limiting the external noise, for which we were grateful. The only problem that we encountered was that the WiFi was not connecting in the room, and we had to go to reception to go online. However, I have no doubt that the fault would have been rectified on the following day. Breakfast was the usual buffet style affair. However, this was the best selection that we have seen for such a price (€6pp). Even the yogurt was a better quality brand than previously experienced. We have often told friends that we are content to use budget hotels as we are only staying for one night. We didn't take time to check out the attractions (if any!) in Val de Reuil, but we would happily stay in this hotel for a few nights. One final ”plus” is the wide variety of eating establishments within a couple of minute's walking distance. On this occasion, we went to the Buffalo Grill that was next door - but we may try some of the other places on future visits. One word of caution. There is also a Kyriad Hotel nearby. Check that you have booked for the right place, as the alternative will cost you a lot more!
