Excellent hotel with helpful and friendly staff. Feels like a 4 star, not 3 star. Rooms are modern, spacious and with good storage. Breakfast was great, the bar very civilised and the whole place was very family friendly. The family rooms are particularly good as you get a separate bunk room plus a larger main bedroom.

The lodge is wonderfully pleasant, handsomely equipped, and thoughtfully laid out, perfect for accommodating six guests. The mountain view is truly breathtaking. Access to the breakfast buffet is highly enjoyable, offering a wide array of high-quality products. The entire staff is consistently attentive and welcoming, no matter the circumstance. Having underground parking available is a definite bonus.

Hotel Avancher was perfect in every way! This was our first visit to Val d'isere, and we couldn't recommend this hotel enough! Should be 4 stars, not 3. The receptionist was helpful and very responsive with all my pre arrival questions and with anything else we needed ie. Ski passes, dinner reservations, etc. The entire staff was incredibly nice, including everyone at the restaurant and bar. They even arranged for a take away breakfast and opened the breakfast room early for us for coffee our last day as we had an early morning departure. Breakfast was yummy and plentiful. We ate there for dinner one night, and food/service were very good. The location is perfect, a few minute walk to the convenient bus which drops you feet from the lifts, and directly across the street from the ski shop and grocery store, and close enough to town to walk to and from town for dinner. We took advantage of the heated boot room and sauna with a lovely view. The rooms were spacious enough, with ample storage, nooks, shelves, etc and good lighting- more than much larger condos that we have stayed in. We are from the US and thought this hotel was an incredible value.

What a terrific hotel! Frederic and his team run an amazing operation. The restaurant and bar are very good indeed - the black pork shoulder was a particular highlight! The bar staff are brilliant and make a robust St Germain spritz. Rooms were comfortable. The ski room was very well thought out and easy to use. Car parking arrangements good too. The spa area is great for relaxation after a hard day on the slopes - especially the sauna on the roof. We’ve already booked to return in February and looking forward to it already. Thank you!

Overall fantastic experience. Frederic and his very well-trained and highly dedicated staff ensure you're having a great time. There's no doubt in our minds that we'll be back. Its atmosphere is welcoming, the location is great (and so is the parking), the food in the restaurant is outstanding (particularly the raclette), and much more.

Excellent hotel, was hesitant about the location but actually it's really good. Would definitely recommend and have already booked again. Staff, facilities, cleanliness all top notch! Private underground parking and individual ski locker for each room, direct access to road with no stairs to navigate.

Lovely place, very good location, close to all u need for an Skiing holiday, ski locker need to be in proved, apartments with 6 places to sleep have only one toilet. Spa it's ok, water clean and enought warm to relax. I will return in next year's with my family.

If you're looking for somewhere to see and be seen in Val D'Isere, then there are plenty of other hotels to stay in. However, if you're looking for something less pretentious but clean, comfortable, very well run, with excellent staff, great food, and within easy access (by shuttle bus) of the ski slopes, then L'Avancher should be near or at the top of your list. Very highly recommended.
