We were a team of 22 from Uganda and stayed for three days for our team-building programme. A modern beach resort with a high-quality build structure and an aesthetic blend with the natural environment and local culture—a relaxing and enjoyable experience. The food couldn’t be better: lovely, tasty, and the usual Chennai variety. The beautiful beach was immaculate, and the vast lawn made us calm and peaceful. Indoor sports had more games like snooker, carrom, chess, TT, etc.: flip of the coin, our check-in, was the worst I had ever experienced. Not even welcome, and no briefing. There was no warmth at all, just plastic, serious smiles. Everything was so mechanical, and the people did not know anything when asked. We heard only sorry every time. We would have checked out instantly if it had not been for Mr Murali and his assistant, Mr Shubham. They were the only people who made things positive. Bravo Murali! Young people ran the place but lacked guidance from a senior ***ager. They all focused on daily routine operations, but the lack of hu*** touch was the most significant gap. When we checked out, we went to the ITC Grand Chola Chennai for dinner and what a stark opposite! What we didn’t get at Sheraton, we experienced in abundance. We shall not return, but Sheraton Grand Chennai had better learn about customer experience.
