We have been skiing for many years and this hotel is one of the best. My wife always complains about lack of storage. Not here, you have your own ski and boot room attached to your room, brilliant. The other standard requirements are a decent shower and bed. Both top quality. The staff were so polite and friendly all around. Food was self service buffet style and again all top quality. Jonas looked after us, thank you, you were a star. The next thing we look for is closeness to the lifts, and it is the closest we’ve ever been. You need to be out early to avoid queues. The bar was quiet but prices good for a main hotel. We even ventured into the spa and outdoor pool. The design and layout of this hotel is brilliant, not your usual Austrian appearance. Even has a tall climbing wall in the centre of the atrium. A really great ski hotel, and probably great for summer bike and walking trips.

I’m not sure why this review has taken me so long to write as this hotel is absolutely outstanding in every single way. We went as a large(ish) group of friends , 6 x adults, 8 x kids and 1 x baby (and a partridge in a pear tree 😉) over New Year. It was our kids first time skiing and the whole resort, hotel, amenities did not disappoint! Walking distance to the slopes, in room ski/boot room, ski hire next door, incredible breakfast and evening buffet with high quality (healthy) and varied food choices plus lots of added extras that make this hotel really special. I’m not sure how we managed it but we skiied all day, came back to the hotel, went swimming in the beautiful indoor/outdoor pool (with view of the slopes) the kids went off to the kids clubs (fully staffed with brilliant people so parental supervision not required), adults chilled at the bar and then for our evening meal (which once the kids had finished they resumed their wide variety of activities in the kids club allowing us to have more wine and really relax!) A party was put on by the hotel for NYE complete with oysters, photo booth, fireworks, live music and goulash soup at midnight. Plus other evening entertainment on various nights. The climbing wall was a big hit and available at any point during the day/night, we didn’t use it as much as we’d envisioned as there was so much else to do! Yes the rooms are a touch clunky and loud when in the boot room area but once in the bedroom section the noise is minimal and the beds super comfy. And let’s be honest, all you’re doing is sleeping there so it was more than perfect Since returning, we’re planning our next trip already, best skiing holiday ever, Nassfeld and the Franz Ferdinand hotel really are outstanding!

Lovely hotel, staff were really friendly and helpful. Unusual rooms in that you have your own, personal boot room in an area in front of your hotel room - makes it so much easier than the usual boot rooms in hotels. Food was excellent, bar, reception & cleaning staff all really helpful. Rooms basic but clean & shower was fab after a days skiing. Hotel is really close to lift & ski hire shop. Lovely place - would definitely recommend.

First impression is rather prison like, with huge open space and balconies. There is an unfinished feel about the place Ruth walls made of concrete slabs, poorly fitted plasterboard just painted over and ceilings that show all the wiring and heating circuits. However the great facilities, all free to use and the excellent food at breakfast and particularly in the evening outweighs everything else. DO NOT expect a Mountain View! For some reason the architect decided to include exterior panelling that blocks 75% of the view from every room, which is a real shame. The swimming pool, sauna and gym are excellent.

We have just returned from a week's skiing holiday in Nassfeld, staying at the Arena Franz Ferdinand. This hotel is amazing! The staff are so polite and friendly. A special mention to Kamil who helped us to change the time of our transfer at the end of our stay. This was not an easy task. Kamil went above and beyond his duties to ensure that we arrived at the airport at the correct time. He saved us so much stress! We are so grateful to him. The rooms are top quality and you also have your own ski and boot room attached to your room. Food is self service buffet style and again top quality. The pasta chef is a brilliant chef and is always so smiley and happy to help. The hotel is the closest we’ve ever been to a ski lift, so very convenient. Also an 8 min walk to a local supermarket. The sauna and swimming pool are great places to relax after skiing. The design and layout of this hotel is brilliant. Lots of activities for children/teenagers of all ages - climbing wall, table tennis, pool table, gaming area with multiple PlayStation 5s, table football and electronic arcade basketball. A really great ski hotel.

Great hotel, outside photo on the Web does not do it justice. Family of four in a junior suite, facilities spot on for a ski hotel, food fantastic even a slightly fussy 12yr old didn't go hungry. Can't fault the place and looking forward to our return for new-year 2024.

We have just returned from a one week crystal ski holiday. The hotel is fantastic. It is a 2 minute walk from the millennium express gondola which goes up to the top of the Nassfeld ski resort. The hotel has amazing facilities to keep adults and kids entertained and the food is delicious. The staff are really helpful and all in all we couldn't fault the hotel. We loved the sauna after a day on the slopes and there are so many other activities within the hotel. Nassfeld is a great ski area for intermediate skiers with mainly red runs and the food on the slopes is reasonably priced.

Great food and location , clean and tidy with lots of facilities especially the pool area , own excellent boot room and beer prices cheaper than the ski bars but shame about the amount of head on the beer and staff very friendly . If IKEA built a hotel it would look like this that’s the best way to describe it but very good

I recently stayed at Arena Franz Ferdinand Ski Hotel during a skiing escapade in Austria, and the location was a game-changer, right next to the Milenium Express for easy access to the slopes. The in-room ski boot racks and spacious equipment storage were a real win. The buffet spread offered a delightful selection, but the unexpected charge for drinks during dinner, including €2.90 for tap water, left me slightly parched. The hotel's overall cleanliness was commendable, but I must air some concerns about room maintenance. While the rooms were roomy, the finishing left much to be desired. Our glasses went untouched throughout our week-long stay, and dust became an unintended decor element. Despite these quirks, the prime location and practical amenities salvaged the experience. On a side note, I embarked on a kangaroo-spotting mission in Austria but came up empty-handed. Pro tip: If you're visiting Austria with hopes of seeing kangaroos, prepare for disappointment – they seem to be hitting the slopes elsewhere!
