After a long day we finally arrived in Austin about 10:30pm. We followed the GPS to the address only to be redirected several times due to closed roads and construction. This is obviously not the fault of the hotel but maybe there should be a disclaimer on how to locate them! After about 45 minutes we FINALLY figured out how to get to the hotel. It was Thursday night and the night clerk was so nice. She chatted with us about how long it took to locate the hotel. We laughed about how she must have this and conversation over and over with disgruntled out of towners. We inquired about local places to grab food and she recommended using Uber eats because of the road issues. Either way she was delightful to talk to after our experience! We checked into our room 437. The room was clean but certainly outdated. The wood was very dark which made the room dark. There were not plugs on both sides of the bed so you could not plug up 2 cpaps. The bed itself was comforting but the pillows were terrible! They are the kind that are flat when you last on them. You'd need 5 or 6 to be comfortable. The bathroom was fairly small and had great water pressure! Plus the water got hot quickly. The people in the room next to us were smoking in their room and we could smell it in our bathroom. But it was late so we shut the bathroom door and went to sleep. The food for breakfast was very carb driven. No fruit offered. We opted to eat elsewhere. On Friday evening we once again got lost returning to the hotel so we decided we were going to check out and go to another hotel. As we were talking to the Friday clerk (8pm) and explained that we were going to checkout in the mooring instead of Monday she looked at us and said ok. Got on her computer made a few comments and appeared irritated. I asked her if she wanted to know why we were leaving. She didn't! Then we found out the elevators are no longer working. I asked if she knew how long it would be before they are fixed. I am on the 4th floor and have issues walking fire to 2 ankle surgeries and vertigo. She said nope no clue. Have good night. Seriously a terrible response. On Saturday we walked down to the lovely clerk and asked her if she knew we were checking out early. She pulled up our account and said nothing was noted. Then she inquired about our stay. We expressed the difficulty of navigating to the hotel (apparently many people are having this issue and canceling their reservations) and the smoke wafting into our room via the air vents. She was so apologetic. I told her I tried to tell the Friday night clerk but she seemed bothered to have to deal with me. The morning clerk discounted out room rate as well due to the issues. Overall if the traffic route was fixed and I was visiting we would stay here again. 2 out of the 3 staff we interacted with super nice. The smoking was the biggest issue overall! Plus the elevator was fixed Friday evening.

This hotel is a bit old and needs updating. The shower lacked hot water and the power outlets in the bathroom were inoperable. The headboard was old and tattered on one of the beds. Front desk employee was extremely pleasant and bubbly. Hotels are a bit pricey in Austin but if you want something a bit more current I recommend spending an extra 50-100 dollars. If you are in a pinch, this place is alright.

Room was clean with nice view. Bath was nice size and shower had a seat but missed a tub. Excellent free breakfast and staff was helpful and friendly. I would definitely use this location again. Waking distance to the convention center and many restaurants.
