Although there was a little problem at the beginning, the hotel actively handled it and apologized, and upgraded the suite for two days. The attitude was very good.
The suite has a good view, facing the Okuma Garden.
The commuter bus to and from Gaoma every half an hour is also very convenient.
It would be perfect if the English and speaking attitude of the front desk could be better.

The room is large, well-planned and comfortable. The courtyard is beautiful, with history and sedimentation. Although the facilities are old, they are not uncomfortable. There is a small hot spring, which is charged. Although it is small, it has complete facilities and is not bad. There was no Chinese service at the front desk for the two days we went there. We chose Japanese breakfast, which was very ordinary. It is a good choice for a short break and vacation.

Excellent service! Prompt response!
I have left my airpods on the bed on the day I checked out in the morning. I immediately sent an email to the hotel when I noticed i had lost them when I arrived airport at night on the same date. The hotel replied to me on the next morning and found my airpods. They have assisted to dispatch the airpods and send back to my home country. Eventually, I could get back my airpods after 4 days I left Japan. Highly appreciated with the assistance from the hotel.

As expected, the room was not spacious. The decor in the room was dark although the toilet room was brighter. It gives an impression that the room overall is gloomy.
My father booked the room for me and he said that there was no one at the reception when he visited the hotel in person to have a view. He had to book it only online.

The location of hotel is superb, right next to Ikebukuro Station with many shops around.
Facilities is a bit old but generally maintained at a good standard. We are looking for a room with 3 beds, which is not easy to find. Compared with another hotel with 3 beds in Takadanobaba, the size of this room is larger so that we can open 4 luggages at the same time.
The down side of this hotel is that there is only 1 escalator (width just enough for 1 person) from entrance to lobby, no elevator. Need to walk the stairs if the escalator is not working in the direction as you are going.

Booked a bunk room for 2 persons for cheap. Front desk staff can speak basic English. Hotel/Room looks rather dated but it is clean. Location is fantastic (About 5min+ walk to Ikebukuro station). Near the hotel is a supermarket and a few convenience stores which is extremely useful. Though I only wish they had a hairdryer and kettle in the room (You have to borrow it from the front desk). Otherwise, this is maybe my 5th time staying at this hotel and would definitely come back again. Thanks again Sakura Hotel for the great stay!

GGuest UserI am a book lover myself, and came to stay here for 2 nights in March a week before Easter, mainly for the library theme and book selection. The hotel itself, the book lounge, and the book libraries on each floor was all very very good. However, upon my checking in, it was obvious that the male receptionist on the left pay more attention to Caucasian guests rather than me (an Asian solo female traveller). I had the impression they just wanted to get rid of me asap, and then served the Caucasian guests behind me.
During the whole of my check in process, no one mentioned anything about the special libraries on each floor, no one told me about the free beverages offered “at the far end corner for the reception desk”, and definitely no one mentioned anything about he QRcode library tour!!! I stayed for two nights and it was only after the first night (when I read the books inside my room that I knew of ANY of the services I mentioned above). Of course one may say I could read all those on the signage’s provided in the property. But then…
Upon walking into the reception desk the next day, I did hear the same male receptionist explained in great detail (everything I mentioned above)in English to other Caucasian guests.
I like the library premise of the property, the books selections were great, exhibition on the first floor was quite nice, however, I am not sure if I would stay for a second time, knowing how they treated solo female Asian guest whom they assumed was not civilised enough (that was my impression) to deserve a thorough introduction about this lovely bookish hotel from them. Quite disappointed to be frank, especially knowing how much history this hotel has included!!
PPei XuanVery good location.
Across the bridge- it’s takashimaya and Tokyo hands. Walking distance to shopping areas within SHINJUKU and train station. Only setback is the 7-11 operating hours is rather short over weekends. And it’s a distance from convenience stores. Otherwise great view, and clean amenities. No microwave- to note as well!
GGuest UserExcellent hotel and special mention to Justyna
Location: Prime spot in the heart of Shinjuku and one minute walk to Shinjuku station exit 4, and less than five minutes to other exits.
Room: Extremely clean, modern, spacious, fantastic housekeeping.
Facilities: Washing machine, dryer, hot/cold water dispenser.
Service: Top notch hospitality from staff who are very friendly and courteous – special mention to Justyna who was extremely helpful with my queries days leading up to my check-in, as well as throughout my 7-night stay, and she always ensures that my requests are fulfilled promptly. Thank you Justyna and team!
GGuest UserI would definitely return to this hotel again. The staff was very attentive and the location is fantastic. The room we had stayed in was newly renovated and the interior design was very user friendly. The breakfast at the premier lounge was amazing.
LloobenjaminExcellent service staff especially Miss Fujita mending the checkin counter. She has been very friendly, helpful by providing us with a lot of information, explained in detail about the hotel facilities and even recommended us to some site seeing locations in Asakusa. Hotel is in a very strategic location within the heart of Asakusa, accessible by 2 metro line, with great 7-11 just a few steps away from the hotel. Definitely going to repeat our stay there in the future.
SSALLESWe had a nice stay at Washington Hotel Akihabara. The hotel is well located, nearby metro lines and local trains which allow us to easily move around Tokyo. Although the room is small, it is well designed and it big enough for few nights. The bed is not very large but comfortable. We managed to sleep with our 2 yo kid. You can also choose between soft or hard pillow. The bathroom was quite big with a nice bathtub. Around the hotel, you have plenty of restaurant and convenient stores. The buffet breakfast was great and everything we try tastes really good ! There is a large choice between Japanese food and wester food. Finally, there is a laundry area which was really convenient.
AACThe hotel is conveniently located, right above the convenient store. It is just 7 mins from Kensei Ueno station, which has train to go to Narita Airport within 40 mins. It is only 3 mins walk from JR station, which only took about 30+ mins to Haneda airport. There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance. Near Ueon Park, with a few Museums. Breakfast is good. Highly recommended.
AAnonymous Useri booked the triple room as it was the only room left. there was space for only 1 large luggage - the room was a little old but bed and duvet surprisingly comfy. onsen was small so it got a little crowded as the hotel was full that night. location was great - tho the nearest ikebukuro stn exit with lift, C9 (vs 20b), is a little further from the station. excellent authentic chinese food nearby (豪妈 on google maps), and a family mart just across the street. great hotel!
GGuest UserI love the location it’s super convenient. Staff are super polite and smiley.
Service wise is not good too many strange rules firstly, there is no phone in the room. In case u need one it’s near the elevator on each floor to speak to the staff.
The twin bed are way too big for us 2/3 of the room. I can’t even open my suitcase easily.
Only one elevator in this 14 storeys hotel right next to their emergency stairways. There is a sign saying if you are in a rush please use the stairways but we were on the higher floor and it’s so cold February a few degrees Celsius ???? Well no thanks I shall wait patiently then……
No daily cleaning service we stayed 5 nights the hotel offered one time cleaning during our stay. All the dirty linens and garbage have to be placed outside your door by 10am if new towels needed. Strangely one bottle complimentary water was given to 2 guests daily together in a bag of towels and slippers toothbrush garbage bags. Only one washing machine ¥600 35mins, dryer ¥300 60mins available (cashless payment only) Onsen too small and poor facilities.
