Outstanding
GGuest UserI am a book lover myself, and came to stay here for 2 nights in March a week before Easter, mainly for the library theme and book selection. The hotel itself, the book lounge, and the book libraries on each floor was all very very good. However, upon my checking in, it was obvious that the male receptionist on the left pay more attention to Caucasian guests rather than me (an Asian solo female traveller). I had the impression they just wanted to get rid of me asap, and then served the Caucasian guests behind me.
During the whole of my check in process, no one mentioned anything about the special libraries on each floor, no one told me about the free beverages offered “at the far end corner for the reception desk”, and definitely no one mentioned anything about he QRcode library tour!!! I stayed for two nights and it was only after the first night (when I read the books inside my room that I knew of ANY of the services I mentioned above). Of course one may say I could read all those on the signage’s provided in the property. But then…
Upon walking into the reception desk the next day, I did hear the same male receptionist explained in great detail (everything I mentioned above)in English to other Caucasian guests.
I like the library premise of the property, the books selections were great, exhibition on the first floor was quite nice, however, I am not sure if I would stay for a second time, knowing how they treated solo female Asian guest whom they assumed was not civilised enough (that was my impression) to deserve a thorough introduction about this lovely bookish hotel from them. Quite disappointed to be frank, especially knowing how much history this hotel has included!!
CChloe_LaiEverything are good! Except for the laundry services onsite, there’s too little of machines (only level 7 & 11) totalling of 6 machines. May have to camp for the available machines for hours (estimate 3-4 hours).
GGuest UserThe hotel is ideally located close to Shinjuku Train Station, but far away enough not to be caught up in the hustle and bustle of the commuter traffic. Another station, Yoyogi station, is a better station to catch the local trains/subways as it is smaller and less crowded. The hotel is located close to shopping and eating that you don't need to walk very far to satisfy any craving. From 7-11 to high end dining, everything is close by. There are restaurants and even a Shake Shack (got our desserts from here several times) inside the building and department stores just across the bridge that crosses the railway tracks. The hotel actually starts on the 20th floor, so you are high enough that the noise from the railway doesn't bother you. Since you are so close to the train station, you don't have to lug your baggage too far from the train station (if that's how you came into town). Service from the staff was very good and was as expected from a higher end hotel. The room was on the large side for Japanese hotel rooms. We had a king size bed and space to walk around even with 2 suitcases and 2 carry-ons taking up floor space. The elevators were quick and silent with a view overlooking the promenade. Filtered water is provided next to the elevators, which came in very handy since we filled our refillable battles starting out each day of sightseeing. A refrigerator was provided as was a safe. Towels were changed on demand and sheets were changed every 3 days or on demand. The bathroom was small but not the smallest we experienced, the shower/tub was great with a handheld sprayer available. The toilet was the typical bidet/heated seat setup that all hotels seem to provide. Everything was clean and neat with the typical (for Japanese luxury hotels) compliment of items - toothbrushes, toothpaste, razor, shower cap, skin lotion, soap, shampoo, etc. Unfortunately, we were on the go most of the time and didn't experience any of the hotel restaurants, but they looked high end and we probably wouldn't have eaten at them since we didn't really pack any nice clothes that would have fit into the clientele. Overall, a comfy place to stay in a great location. I would definitely stay here again.
GGuest UserExcellent hotel and special mention to Justyna
Location: Prime spot in the heart of Shinjuku and one minute walk to Shinjuku station exit 4, and less than five minutes to other exits.
Room: Extremely clean, modern, spacious, fantastic housekeeping.
Facilities: Washing machine, dryer, hot/cold water dispenser.
Service: Top notch hospitality from staff who are very friendly and courteous – special mention to Justyna who was extremely helpful with my queries days leading up to my check-in, as well as throughout my 7-night stay, and she always ensures that my requests are fulfilled promptly. Thank you Justyna and team!
MMommy MaricelPerfect location for Tokyo marathon runners. It is just by the starting line. Everything was great. Room super spacious and clean . We had a fantastic view of the Metropolitan Building with led lights show. Food so good in the buffet. Service is excellent.
GGuest UserThe hotel is convenient for traveling by metro, immediately after exiting to the right, there is an entrance to the subway. The staff is polite, just like everywhere else in Japan. Disadvantages: the choice of dishes for breakfast is small, breakfast cannot be excluded from the price. The dining room is very small and it is difficult to find a place for breakfast in the morning. I asked the staff to write down what the dishes are made of. But they refused to write what includes into dishes ( f.e. salad ingredients). They said that they need to coordinate the permission to describe the composition of the dishes with the management. But It wasn't wasn't agreed in all my 5 days stays. I don't eat meat, and there was meat in the vegetable salad. It is not visible from above, it was in the middle of the ”vegetable” salad. About safety, it's a separate complaint. On the night of 29-30/11/2024, at about 2:10 a.m., the fire alarm went off. The voice notification was in Japanese only, for about 40(!) minutes. With the help of a Google translator, I realized that needed to run outside. The staff should was find reason of problem. Actually it takes for a maximum of 15 minutes to find reason of 'fire” ( 1. to see on display correct place 2.to see by own eyeson both floors). After the signal in Japanese ended in 40 minutes, people began to come back. When people was going to fall asleep again, after 3-4 minutes the alert was swithed troug ht speakers again with the same text but in English. It was turned off in about 5 or 10 minutes. Afterwards in 5 minutes, they started setting up the notification (Japanese text was coming through the speakers). But that's not all. In the morning, at 6:30, a general ”good morning” alert went out thought speakers to the entire hotel. It was impossible to get enough sleep that night. The staff put a paper with apologies under everyone's door in the morning time. There was zero information about how many times and how long were swithed on speakers and other details and explanations of triggers. During this sleepless night, the visitors received only a formal letter. Obviously, there was no fire and they didn't write anything about the duration, numbers and reasons of all alarms. After this night - only a formal letter? It was possible to honestly admit that there was no fire and there are problems with the functioning of the fire safety warning system (EVACS).Conclusion: technically, the fire alarm system is not configured. The staff is not trained. In general, there are some risks.

AAnonymous Useri booked the triple room as it was the only room left. there was space for only 1 large luggage - the room was a little old but bed and duvet surprisingly comfy. onsen was small so it got a little crowded as the hotel was full that night. location was great - tho the nearest ikebukuro stn exit with lift, C9 (vs 20b), is a little further from the station. excellent authentic chinese food nearby (豪妈 on google maps), and a family mart just across the street. great hotel!
AAnonymous UserWe chose this hotel last minute due to some changes to our itinerary. The hotel is located in Ginza and just 10 mins walk to main shopping street. 6 mins walk to the JR train station for Haneda Airport.
Access to the room is by using a pin code. There is no need to checkout at counter, just need to place the checkout magnetic sign at the room front door facing the corridor. The room space is very limited. Enough for 1 24” & 3 20” luggage bags. Any additional big luggage bags in the room, you need to walk on top of the beds.
Laundry room, you may skip it. No coins or cards are accepted. You need to download an app to make payment just for the 3kg wash & drying machines (separate machines)
If you intend to forward your bulk luggage bags to the hotel, they only accept on the check-in date due to limited space.
I booked the hotel through Trip.com. So i went through Trip.com agent to communicate with the hotel if i could send my luggage to the hotel 2 days early before my check-in date. The staff responds YES, they will help me keep. Then we dragged our 3 28” heavy luggage bags through the train, staircases & streets to reach the hotel. The staff that greeted us rejected our luggage bags. I gave her my check-in details & the staff name that accepted our request but to no avail. Luckily, we are able to send our luggage bags to our next hotel through JP Post at Lawson convenience store nearby after 30 mins searching around.
If the staff that replied to my request rejected me upfront, all this wouldn't have happened. We are like an ****** dragging our luggage bags around. I can't imagine what will happen to our luggage bags if we used a luggage forwarding company to send them in 2 days early? Return back to the company, and we have to collect them?
On the day before we drag our luggage bags, i've sent an email to the hotel directly to clarify again. They didn't reply. Even until now, after a few weeks, i didn't get any response from the hotel.
Excellent customer service, keep up the good work.
IItorinaIt’s a very convenient place to stay close to the station and it has a couple of stores to buy from and to eat out. The view in the hotel we’re staying at, was the best view for us. The staff at the hotel cleans our stuff often and change our bins and clothes etc. The service staff helps us a lot go through stuff with the luggage packing and cleaning information. It was a comfortable experience to have. Thank you!!
