Hotels in Ueno, Tokyo

Third time staying at this hotel. All is good as usual! Definitely will recommend to those who wish to be near Ueno, skyliner, plenty of different JR lines, but also to be slightly away from the crowd so it’s more quiet.

Small but perfectly formed, the lobby provides a comprehensive range of toiletries, including makeup remover, facial cleanser, and bath salts. The room was clean and tidy, and I have to praise the hairdryer – it was excellent! Downstairs, just a 100-meter walk away, there's a Wendy's, which is a great late-night snack option; the fries get a thumbs up! (Avoid the izakaya on the street level below the hotel, though – the salmon was black, the squid was smelly, and the only thing edible on the whole table we ordered was the Coke 😅)

ELE Hotel is such a lovely place to stay in. It's hidden in a quiet area so you don't have to worry about noisy streets at night! The room is perfect for solo travellers. I was expecting a small and tight room, however the room was so spacious that i could even fully open my luggage. From my Hotel room, I could see Tokyo skytree and it's such a treat:) I felt really safe here as a solo female traveller. The Hotel provides laundry at a charge and it was so convenient. The nearest train station is 5 mins away which is not too far. Downsides were: 1. there was no bottle water in the room 2. there was a funky smell that came from the toilet. However, taking into consideration all the amazing stuff mentioned above, I will still recommend this place to others and even stay here again when I visit tokyo next time:)

Honestly i really love the hotel despite the sizing of the room, it was super near to the subway line like 2/3 mins walk. Near to convenience store and everything. Definitely will stay here if im coming again

Check-in convenience: Great location with subway stations nearby and even a street specializing in Japanese tableware. The front desk is quite small, but there's a workspace available. Safety: Very central, felt safe coming back at night. Facilities: The room isn't huge, typical Japanese style, and has a shower. Cleanliness: Pretty good, and there's a fridge. Environment: Right outside is a park. Service: There are staff on duty even at night, and you can store your luggage.

The room is very small, even for a couple. It feels a bit cramped, especially if you have luggage, and there isn’t much space to move around or relax comfortably. It’s more suitable for short stays or solo travellers. Lighting in the room is also quite poor. It feels dim and not well-lit, which makes the space feel even smaller and less comfortable, especially at night or when trying to get ready. Overall, the hotel is functional and clean, but the compact room size and insufficient lighting make it less ideal for couples or longer stays.

I really liked this hotel. The bed was very comfortable, and the room felt new. There was enough space to open two suitcases, and all basic amenities were provided. Very convenient location with direct access to the subway exit 1 and easy connection from the Keisei Line. Near a convenience store, and the area is quiet and peaceful.

Great location, close to the subway station. The corner room was quite spacious; we could open two large suitcases in the hallway area of the room. The two beds pushed together were also quite large, perfect for families with a baby. The sink was a bit small, but the bathroom was fully functional.

Room was nice and clean. Great location.  Excellent customer service! Mr. Ukuyama and Ms. Katsumura at the front desk, I can’t thank you enough for the great hospitality. They both are so kind and professional. Wonderful staff ! I’ll definitely stay there again . There is a lounge you can use once you check in, Free soft drinks ,hot water , cold water and vending machine. Very quiet and comfortable specially if you have some work to do while you’re on a vacation.  Close to Ueno park !!

The room was small but clean. It was fine for one person, but would be very cramped for two. I stayed for 4 days, and overall it was okay, but one day was truly frustrating. I felt unwell and returned to the hotel early to rest, but I wasn't allowed back into my room because it was being cleaned. Even after saying they didn't need to clean it, I was told I had to wait until 3 PM. This rigid adherence to procedures, without any consideration for the guest's actual situation, felt very impersonal and made for a really bad experience.
