It’s a fun room layout, but once you get inside, you realize that if you're around 1.7-something meters tall (around 5'7" to 5'10"), you will constantly bump into the wooden crossbeams of the bed frame on the lower level. My partner bumped his head several times in a single night: there just isn't enough protective padding. It definitely took away from the overall travel experience. My biggest complaint, however, was that every time the toilet was flushed, an odor would back up from the sewer. For reasons unknown, that drainage smell wafts up with every single flush, which makes the experience pretty awful in such a small space. I’ve stayed in many hotels across Japan and have never encountered this before; it's not something you can fix by simply closing the bathroom door. On the positive side, the place is generally clean, and there are plenty of great places to eat nearby. 是好玩的房型，但是，进去以后才发现，房间下层个子如果是1米7几的，是会一直要撞到那个床的横梁架子。有时候一晚上会撞到好几次，防护措施不够。出行体验感打折。 最不满意的，是每次冲厕所都会反味，下水道的味道不知道为什么每次冲厕所就会反上来，对于小的空间来说，体验很不好。在日本住过很多酒店没遇到过，不是简单的关了厕所门就可以的。 整体干净，附近很对好吃的。

The location is fantastic, just a 3-minute walk from the JR station. There's a FamilyMart right across the street and a 7-Eleven a little further down. Plus, there are tons of restaurants nearby. The hot water pressure was good, and the bed was just the right balance of soft and firm.

This hotel is about a 7-minute walk from Otsuka Station, which is incredibly convenient. There's a Family Mart right across the street and a large 7-Eleven nearby. Plus, next to Otsuka Station, there's a shopping complex with Loft, Uniqlo, and even a smaller Don Quijote. The room itself was clean and tidy, with enough space for three people. We were able to open three large suitcases comfortably. A big plus is that they offer fresh towel service every day!

The hotel was very clean and comfortable. The room was quiet, cozy, and perfect for a relaxing stay. The staff were warm, friendly, and always willing to help. Transportation was very convenient, and there were plenty of great restaurants nearby. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to others.

The hotel's location is absolutely fantastic. It's right opposite Otsuka Station, just a hundred meters away. You can get to Shinjuku and Shibuya directly on the Yamanote Line, and there are tons of restaurants all around.

Just a few minutes' walk from Otsuka Station. There are plenty of food options nearby, so no need to worry about going hungry, and it's not too crowded. Felt very relaxed! The hotel room had a loft bed, which the kids loved!

This was maybe one of the best hotel stays I've ever had! The way the room was setup was very cool. My wife and I slept up top and my son had the futon to sleep on below. Really smart use of the space available. Staff was extremely responsive, helpful and very nice.  One example is on day of check out, I had a problem with the safe. I went down to reception desk to report it, they told me to go to my room and somebody would be there to help. By the time I went up the elevator and walked to my front door, somebody was already there to help! The service industry in Japan 🇯🇵 is next level and OMO5 is a shining example. This hotel was the best and I'll definitely stay here again next year! Also, the DJ they have in the lobby every night was a nice bonus. Come down to unwind from your busy day, have a drink and listen to some cool music.

The hotel is located at the North Exit of Otsuka Station on the Yamanote Line, a five-minute walk after getting off the train. Breakfast is à la carte, with four options. I wasn't used to the Japanese style breakfast, but the others were fine, though there was no fruit or milk. The bed in the room is on top, with a sofa underneath, which my child really liked. They charge extra for using the spare bedding from the closet, so it's better to bring your own sheet. My room, an even-numbered one, was right by the Toei train line, so there was noise when trains passed by.

Cosy and great location. However there was noticeable mold between the bathroom tiles.

A very cosy hotel with great location, just 2 min walk to JR Otsuka station. Otsuka is a lifely neighborhood, not too much shopping but with ample local restaurants and supermarkets around for local consumables and fresh fruits at reasonable price. Good for a quiet city life. Nippon rent a car is just 2 min away from hotel, i rented a car for a day trip to Lake Kawaguchi. Definitely will book this hotel again for our next stay, highly recommended accommodation.

Stayed at OMO5 Tokyo Otsuka by Hoshino Resorts and would absolutely stay there again. The location was one of the biggest advantages — it’s literally steps from Otsuka Station on the Yamanote Line, which made getting around Tokyo incredibly easy without paying Shinjuku or Shibuya hotel prices. Otsuka itself ended up being a great surprise: quieter, more relaxed, and less tourist-heavy, but still full of cute cafés, restaurants, and local neighborhood energy. It felt very safe walking back late at night, especially because the hotel is so close to the station. The hotel had a really cool, modern community vibe that made it feel more interesting than a standard business hotel. The lobby and restaurant space were stylish and lively without being chaotic — there was even a DJ booth and people casually hanging out in the evenings, which gave the whole place a very chill, creative atmosphere. The food looked great, although honestly we kept getting pulled out into the neighborhood to explore local spots instead. The rooms were very well designed and surprisingly functional. Ours was extremely quiet, which was a huge plus after long days in Tokyo. The loft setup was fun and unique, and the hotel made excellent use of vertical space without feeling cramped. I could especially see families or small groups appreciating the semi-private upstairs sleeping area. It felt like thoughtful Japanese design: compact, efficient, and comfortable. Laundy room was convenient - perfect to reset in the middle of our trip. A few things to know: * Rooms are compact, as expected in Tokyo, but intelligently laid out. * This is more of a design-forward, neighborhood-style stay than a luxury hotel experience. * Otsuka is calmer than Shibuya/Shinjuku nightlife-wise, which ended up being one of the best parts for us. Overall, an excellent option for travelers who want easy transit access, a more local Tokyo experience, smart design, and a relaxed atmosphere at a much more reasonable price point than the major tourist hubs. Honestly kind of the perfect “we’re in Tokyo but don’t need to be screamed at by Tokyo 24/7” hotel.
